PressMyButton:With only the South West as its base then, please can you remind us again on how the former Alliance for democracy was built on tribalism again please? Or were you too young to remember how the party was termed a regional party and proved itself so? |
porthouse7:Satisfy your curiosity with this link. https://www.nairaland.com/3858663/top-10-most-notorious-armed |
madridguy:Talking rubbish as usual. What do you have to say about your people caught daily in Ibadan and Ogun state, with human parts for money making rituals? “…you will never hear or see one Adeyemi Olagunloye committing crime outside his region..”. So Dubai is part of your region where Hushpuppi and Woodberry were caught. America is part of your region where those serving long jail terms were caught. America is your region where a whole Oba was caught for fraud? America is your region where the PA to the governor of Ogun state was caught and jailed for fraud? Dey play yourself wayo. |
LegendHero:Ahhh. From your mouth? APC man? Anyway, I agree with you on the question. Ordinarily, Afenifere should as elders and keepers of culture and tradition, find ways to make peace between the two of them, rather than take sides. Again, one does not see how it is the business of Afenifere, seeing that the warring parties are neither members of the organization nor from the SW. The same should go for all the socio cultural associations nationwide. They should face what’s facing them, and demand good governance from the leaders, irrespective of political affiliation. In the end Senators Akpabio sand Natasha Uduaghan will settle the matter and have a good laugh out of it. |
That’s more like it. |
Many thanks to those who visited the families of late Pa Ayo Adebanjo and late Pa Edwin Clark. Once again, may their families be comforted. |
yarimo:Lack of information makes some people didirin! The same family of Pa Ayo Adebanjo was visited by Mr. Peter Obi. He joined in the family procession and spent hours with them and citizens of Lekki. Read, but you cannot. |
No one ever envisaged this about Lagos state. The assembly over the years has been very organized and appears insulated from such crisis. Lagos HOA has been the most crisis free since 1999. However we must admit that what Lagos experiences now is to be expected with democracies. Is that seat Obasa’s personal property? What has he planted on that seat, that he wants to reap by all means? If his fellow members of the house have lost confidence in him, why does he want to forcefully return there? This exposes the frailties within APC governors advisory council. While some have disagreed, others have agreed, making it difficult to control the legislators. In all, it is hoped that the matter is completely resolved and the house can be run smoothly again. |
francotunsco:Did you not read that it is disrespectful to change seats without the knowledge of the people involved? There is no sane reason to prove a point and yet she is a Senator, representing communities and people of all religious beliefs and tribes? |
Maybe he wanted to pay the movie: Snake swallowed money (season 2). |
9jatriot:And you were waiting to hear of the bad news to masturbate on the comment of the man. Are you not seeing yourself in the league of serial practitioners of masturbation? |
givedemwotowoto:After three years on the battlefield against Ukraine? After losing hundreds of thousands of soldiers, including reservists? After asking for soldiers from North Korea? After purchasing military hardware from Iran and China? Europeans leaders have the approvals of their parliaments, otherwise they will not be supporting Ukraine. Russia is weakened militarily. To wage a war in Europe that includes France, Germany, Poland, UK, Ukraine itself, etc, would be impossible for Putin at this period. For Russia to attack the rest of Europe, he needs more years of planning. That would no longer possible, as European countries have become wiser. With the present domestic and foreign policy of America under Trump, the rest of Europe know that they have to build the military more and prepare for another time. |
Very straight. Very clear. Well said. |
Women from Kogi should also come out to defend Senator Natasha Akpoti! Rather than hold leaders responsible for impoverishing them, these people are out there defending those who make lives miserable for them. |
tctrills:Sorry bro. You did not read through, neither have you bothered to have a little research. Thank you for the time. |
lexy2014:Please read through my response to @tctrills and you can have more insight. For me, the rise to power of Vladimir Putin, whose foreign policy seeks to among others project Russis as a great power within the international system is an issue in the war. Russia claims that its war against Ukraine was to protect its vital interests. The Russians have said that its right to dominate their nearest neighbors as a key foreign policy priority. Russia’s stated reasons for launching this war include protecting the self interests and preserving all Russian cultural identity, especially the people of Luhansk and Donetsk. The question remains if Putin truly wants to end the war. |
tctrills:“Who told you…”. History told me that. Following the history of the old Soviet Union, its breakup and the results told me so. The events that we see playing out, predate 2014 or 2022. There are too many details to look at without sentiments. If you are willing to discuss with decorum, then we can proceed and you will get better informed. Look at the below for starters: 1.Research “the Minsk Agreement” and why Putin calculated chose to break it up, claiming that Ukraine broke it. Why did Ukraine choose to end the treaty? 2. https://www.brookings.edu/articles/the-trilateral-process-the-united-states-ukraine-russia-and-nuclear-weapons/ 3. The total nuclear stockpile in Ukraine before denuclearization. 4. The Steinmeier formula. 5. https://www.state.gov/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/93-1231-Weapons-Nonproliferation-Ukraine-CTRA.pdf 6. https://www.armscontrol.org/factsheets/ukraine-nuclear-weapons-and-security-assurances-glance Read through and revert. |
tctrills:The USA is obligated, just like UK and NATO to finance the war. Once again, there was an agreement long time ago. Please do a little research and find out if Russia would before that agreement have dared to venture into Ukraine, even without the cover of America, UK and NATO countries. |
MERCHANDISER:Sorry sir, those who have failed are Trump and Putin. A serious agreement held many years ago was serious violated by Putin/Russia and sadly supported by Trump. Do you want to know it? |
tctrills:Sorry but you are very incorrect. There was an agreement. The Europeans and Biden government played their roles. Ukraine played its role. Putin failed completely and must be held accountable. |
owagbeba:Maybe the fellow does not understand what nuclear weapons can do. He probably does not know that in a few minutes, Ukraine can be wiped off the earth. I am no supporter of the needless war, carefully orchestrated by Putin. However, I am in support of peace and anything that can be done to achieve world peace, irrespective of the continent where there’s ongoing war. |
Righteousness2:Oga, go and sit down and stop hypocritically quoting from the Bible, especially as you lack understanding. The same America today, you called Nomerica many times previously, also quoting the Bible. In your previous comment, you said “western media”. Before now you supported the “western media”, when reporting the events in Gaza and the Middle East. Stand on a spot and be identified. That’s the mark of a true believer, irrespective of the religion. |
JAMO84:Oga carry that your poke their dirty noses” into Muslim affairs to the dustbin where it rightly belongs. Your comment shows you as a miscreant, mischievous, hypocritical and with the same “dirty nose”. If you do not want Christians to ask questions about what’s happening within the Islamic community in Nigeria, you can simply get your own country and go away. You do not want Christians to poke into affairs of Muslims, yet you have a Muslim President and Muslim Vice President, superintending the affairs of the country’s, which includes the same Christians and citizens of different tribes, who you canvassed their votes to instal your Muslim brothers as their leaders. If you have never been to other Muslim countries to see how they practice their religion, why not ask? Who says that they shut down their schools completely to observe Ramadan? Some countries reschedule learning their learning hours to accommodate the fasting season. In some, distance learning is practiced. Never do they shut down the entire system completely to accommodate the season. Bauchi state has reset the calendar so that pupils can resume after the fast and conclude the second time one month behind in April. If you tried to reason well, you’d find that Bauchi state has a large percentage of Christians. Shutting down the schools, therefore, ensures that all are forced on holidays, which is improper. Who told you that your Christian “ neighbours” are happy? If they seem happy to you, do they have an option, especially when they know that their lives and children’s lives would be in danger, from those who carry guns that you support? Why not shut down Abuja or Lagos because of the period. Why not ask the President to shut down the whole school system in the whole country? What you fellows support lends credence to the claim of boko haram about western education. |
Are we having a replication of Rivers state here in Lagos state? |
Absolutely |
No Igbo person has cast aspersions on an Itsekiri person. Reno Omokri should confine his bitterness to Obi personally and stop the reckless and irresponsible act of dragging Igbo people into his disagreements with Obi. |
A step in the right direction to begin with. However giving them feeding allowances of a minimum of 5K should be better. That should boost their confidence in the war against terrorism and prevent them from accepting bribes from criminals. The uniform issue caught my attention. Hopefully with that Soldiers would not have to sew their uniforms in unauthorized places. I think our police should copy from that. Most police personnel, especially those of the junior cadre appear very dirty with their uniforms. Again it’s should be allocated to them. Boots when worn with their uniforms make them look dignifying it’s most respectable in the society. Our police can also work on that. Police men wear their uniforms with either funny looking shoes, or scandals/slippers. When they confront criminals and need to run, how can they cope? |
shegz24:Olodo. Youths like you have been labeled as lazy by Buhari and Mrs. Tinubu. A simple search would have shown you all that she has been doing for her constituents and Nigeria in general. If not beans and bread, what else do you know? |
Akpakomiza2:Thankfully you said “we are getting somehow”. Have you seen Senator Natasha indecently dressed? How do you define indecent dressing? Have you seen her shabbily dressed in the National Assembly? Except Akpabio and certain APC members and supporters are looking out to see her flesh, then their definition of indecent dressing is warped. Akpabio withdrew that nightclub statement and apologized to her. Was she wearing bum shorts or jeans to their meetings? At 45 and a mother of three children, does Akpabio or any Senator, not to talk of other APC members/followers, need to teach her how to dress decently? Their altercation of the other day was very unnecessary, only if Akpabio had properly handled the situation. That’s not the first time Senators fought over seating positions. About April last year, Senators Sahabi Alhaji Ya'u, Danjuma Goje and Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele engaged themselves in a serious argument over the seats allocated to them in the newly renovated chamber of the National Assembly in Abuja. The fight was about the seating arrangements after their chamber was renovated. Their complain, just like Senator Natasha, was that they were given seats at the far right corner of their chamber. The same Akpabio was and is still the Senate President. He asked them to approach him and they did, as we all saw. Why did he not follow the same route, except that he felt something against her. Akpabio simply did not allow Natasha to be heard, even as she came in order 10 of the standing rule. There was absolute intolerance on his part. There have been more difficult situations with Senators and they found ways to resolve them. If your favorite Senate President had communicated properly with the Clerk and by extension Senator Natasha, would that have happened? There was no communication in any form before the Senator took her seat and that’s obvious. If there were no previous issues, would Senator Natasha be suing Akpabio to court. Afterall, I mentioned earlier that there must have been some differences before then. Now the ethics committee will sit and decide her fate, right? They also know that they have a time bomb in there and not a spineless coward. They suspend her, she says all she knows. For me, I want to listen. For you, gra gra from APC legislators is the answer. You admitted that Akpabio sometimes “misyarn”. The truth is that talking carelessly has been his stock in trade since when he was the governor of Akwa Ibom state. His problem with Senator Kingibe also centered on intolerance, looking down on the woman and not allowing her present or follow up with her bills. The Wike issue was aggravated by the same Akpabio when he was invited by Wike to launch one of the projects. He said and I quote: “I saw one of the legislators on television talking about you (Wike) and mentioning the fact that she was not carried along,” he said. “Well, she is a member of the Senate. Once a decision is taken, she is bound by the decision. So, please ignore every distraction (from her) and be rest assured that no matter what you do, not everyone will praise you. Others will still try to find faults,” How was that honorable of the so called leader of the Senate. He talked down on her, even though the matter was eventually resolved. Senator Kingibe’s matter was bringing up the issue of demolition going on by Wike in the FCT. Again she was complaining that Wike was not addressing the desperate issues with the people of the FCT, such as water, etc. There was no mischief. The fact remains that between Wike and Kingibe, there’s no love lost. If Akpabio handled the matter with some decorum, would the matter not end there? |
How does Valentine Ozigbo expect to beat Soludo or any candidate presented by Labour Party, with the looming shadow of Peter Obi. As the PDP candidate in 2021, he was defeated by Soludo, with Soludo scoring 112,000 and he scoring 53,000 votes. LP was not in the equation then and PDP still had some strength in the state. He cross carpeted to LP in 2022, seeing the support Obi was getting and the power of Obidient movement. Now that Ifeanyi Ubah is no longer it here, he feels that he can defeat Soludo. If the mighty LP under the watchful eyes of Obi cannot claim Anambra from APGA, where is the hope of an unknown APC? Anambra state 32 members of the state assembly, with APGA holding 18 seats. Labour Party holds 8 seats, while YPP holds 4 seats because of the Ifeanyi Ubah effect. If the almighty PDP, which was the reigning party at a time does not have a seat, APC has no seat, where is the hope of Mr. Val Ozigbo. Maybe he’s looking forward to a political appointment anyway. |
Zackattack:Cheap blackmail and he has not disproved them? Where are the sentiments in the face of real issues confronting the Senate of the federal republic. Having tv cameras and media houses serves to let citizens into events in the National Assembly. A matter as this is of national importance to all citizens. |
Akpakomiza2:Sorry friend, I do not dislike Akpabio. I simply do not want us, as citizens, to continue to bear the brunt of irresponsible leaders, irrespective the political party. See the pot calling the kettle black. Have you ever looked at national issues without some form of bias? You only have the lens of APC in all matters and I do not expect any much from you. You are the absolutely biased person, abeg. But there you are, lying against Senator Natasha. If she was indecently dressed, why was she not stopped from entering into the Senate chambers? After all they have their dress code, as you already know. If Akpabio was not a nightclub patron, how did he come to the conclusion about Natasha and his alleged nightclub dressing? And if your favourite Akpabio wanted to be matured, why did he not overlook her sometimes. If she was a member of your party, APC, would you not be defending her? If Senator Saraki walked him out when he was in the same situation, what would you all be saying now? If your favourite Senator Akpabio, without malice in his heart, respectfully asked her to get to her newly assigned seat and then be recognized as Saraki did with him, would there be an issue? If he did that, would another seat not have been assigned to her, if all was well between the two of them? At least from Natasha and Ireti Kingibe, we now know that Akpabio has issues personal issues with fellow Senators, especially the opposition. What has knowing what’s happening in the Senate chambers got to do with being a veteran or not? Or are the tricks, games and politics and history reserved for veterans only? As the Chairman, Senate Committee on the Diaspora and Nongovernmental Organisations, how is Senator Natasha not part of your claimed inner caucus? If a serving Senator cannot tell you what’s happening in the senate chamber, who else should? A bricklayer or a mechanic? |
