Travel / Lost DS-160 Application Form by eleven(m): 1:32am On Dec 19, 2015
Hello House, Please I need expert advise on an issue with our DS-160 application form.

While filling application for my family, notice that I can't access/retrieve one of the application forms of one of my children. I suspect network error in saving her form at the time of applying.

Please how do I retrieve/recover this lost form? Her Surname and Date of Birth are not going through. Observed her retrieve application page does have the 3rd security question like the rest of us, only the First 5 letters of surname and date of birth. No "Security Question and Answer" column.

Payments have been with appointment scheduled already with the lost form number. Please is it advisable to fill a new application form with a new number different from the one used for payment and appointment? Whats the likely implication of this should in case. Thank you.

Justwise and other experts...please help a brother. Thanks

If this report is true then it's a very big shame that the same pastor who supported this devilish hardship on Nigerians is now wailing. The people GOD Almighty will punish for conspiring against HIS chosen one for this country are indeed very many.

APC is the long awaited Anti-Christ for those still expecting the Anti-Christ. If you don't know now, you are on your own.

APC controls the religious leaders, mainstream and social media, using these devilish mediums to feed gullible and sinful people (lol) lies on a daily basis.

Trust Nigerian newspapers, TV, Radio Presenters, Twitter Overloads, Nairaland APC propagandists, Pastors, Imams, Babalawo etc at your peril and suffer the consequences for your gullibility. If you can't apply common sense to analyze information and find answers for yourself, don't expect anyone to help you for you without benefitting from your lack of basic common sense.

These days I SMH whenever I hear former die hard "Sai Baba Change" Christians say words like the economy is rough but we the children of GOD are protected from the world's economy as a consolation for thier poor decision.

Late Fela Anikulapo Kuti for me is a holier prophet in whom I believe GOD almighty is very well pleased than our modern day hope selling scallywags in suits. His messages are 100% more truthful and proven till this day.

Fellow Nigerians. The Anti-Christ are here and thier ID is APC. Brethren, Binding and casting out should start now. May GOD answer our prayers. Amen.

APC...GOD forbids! Tufiakwa!!!

He infact mentioned on air that he will be removed as senate president, you could feel his excitement on air. One can tell from his remarks on issues that he is a die hard APC propagandist. I am sure he will be highly disappointed with this news.

Only hope PMB will set egos aside and complete these projects because it will benefit all. Just imagine how great Nigeria will be if these projects (184 roads with a total coverage area of over 6,000km nationally) are completed within the next 3 years.

Hypocrites who were silent when Fashola used 1bn per km are already abusing GEJ on their mother propaganda site (Punch Newspaper) for using average cost of less than 270k per km nationally instead of asking their governors questions and focusing on PMB to complete these projects.

Whichever way we look at it, its very wrong for the media and the governnent to damage people's image without concrete evidences. Maybe when more people begin to sue we will get sanity in the media because as it is too many news and disclaimers with so much confusion in the air. We don't know what to believe anymore. Too many propagandas, its hard to tell which story is true or false these days.

Our media needs to be sanitized. Wish him good luck if he is really innocent.

It doesn't matter what Nigerians think now, the aim has been achieved. Again we have been fooled by this government's deception.

The purpose was to divert people's attention from the 100 days in office performance and deceive gullible Nigerians with the same old "our president is poor" myth. Purpose achieved.

Imagine a professional media company like Channels TV also falling for this scam. Channels TV aided and abetted the government intentionally or unintentionally to deceive their viewers with the "less than N30m" and "declaration of assets" headline story on Thursday News At 10 when the news broke out.

Channels TV is too professional and knowledgeable not to know that what was released by Garba Shehu is NOT and will never called be a declaration of assets by any standard and the Nigerian Constitution. Calling it asset declaration and mentioning the bank balance value like its the total value of all the President's assets is fraudulent. They should know better. Shame.

For those who don't know, what the president's spokeman released is not a declaration of assets. A declaration of assets is not without verifiable values, proper item description, verifiable locations, quantity etc.

The media and the government have succeeded in deceiving its citizens with the "less than N30m and false declaration of assets" headline stories. APC wins again.

May GOD help this country.

Let's see what the court will say about that.

Your point makes a lot of sense. While I agree the concession cost at 1m per year for a prime location as Falomo is very low, we however do not know the full terms of the contract.

Governor Ambode terminating the contract without recourse to the concessionaires sends negative signals to future investors on government instability which is not healthy for long term investment opportunities. Again we don't know if the concessionaires were pre-informed before the termination.

Ideal thing would have been to follow court process for either upward review of the contract or seek cancellation through the courts. Again we await more details to truly understand what happened.

This report states the actual state of the Nigerian economy and business environment at the moment. Surprised it took a foreign media to understand our current economic environment more than our own media who are busy propagating lies for politicians and selling sensational news. The government needs to act urgently and timely too. The implications of delay at this stage is not in the interest of anyone.

Businessmen understand the challenges better, employees should also be concerned, government continuos delay in setting clear policy directions is not good for the country.

NIGERIA NEEDS CREDIBLE REFORMS TO EMERGE FROM ITS ECONOMIC FUNK Ronak Gopaldas*

Last Updated: 19 August 2015|16:56 GMT

The challenges that lie ahead for Nigerian President Muhamadu Buhari and his administration have now become clear. Photo: Reuters

With post-election euphoria subsiding, the enormity of the challenges that lie ahead for new Nigerian President Muhamadu Buhari and his administration have now become abundantly clear. The president inherited an economy crippled by an oil price slump, a treasury which, in his own words, is “virtually empty”, along with mounting currency pressures, rising inflation, and a host of structural issues which will not be remedied in the short term. The president’s honeymoon period will be a short-lived one, as he faces the urgent task of devising a sustainable strategy to guide Nigeria through its current economic crisis.

The already challenging economic environment is now being aggravated by elevated levels of policy inertia. Despite being elected in March and inaugurated two months later, President Buhari has still not appointed a cabinet; the latest news indicates that a cabinet announcement will happen only in September. This has been viewed in a disappointing light as the president was expected to be a more decisive leader than his predecessor. The result has been a marked reversal in the positive sentiment which characterised the post-election environment, most notably amongst the business community. The stock market rout over the past few months reflects these dynamics. However, as one commentator in Nigeria noted, “one campaigns in poetry but governs in prose”, and this is particularly true of the current predicament in which President Buhari finds himself.

Buhari’s critics call him “Baba Go Slow” and argue that the current policy inertia was an inevitable development arising from the complexities and internal politics within the young and ideologically fragmented All Progressives Congress coalition. However, his supporters argue that the delays are indicative of a deep desire to make the right appointments and have urged patience as he attempts to set up the foundations for economic progress via credible and technocratic appointments. Either way, a great deal of political capital hinges on the September announcements which cannot come soon enough for a country that is currently in policy limbo.

As a president who campaigned on a message of change, especially security and corruption, the big elephant in the room remains the economy, and clarity in this regard is sorely lacking. There are currently more questions than answers around what the policy impulse will be, clouding the outlook for both fiscal and monetary policy.

On the fiscal side of the equation, questions centre on how the authorities intend to plug revenue shortfalls. Already, the president has indicated that the removal of fuel subsidies are off the table, a proposal that many, including the International Monetary Fund, have argued would provide substantial relief to the fiscal accounts. A supplementary budget was widely expected to be announced once the new government assumed office, however, this too has not materialised, creating further uncertainty.

In the current context, austerity measures are critical and boosting revenue through improving tax collection, eliminating payments of wasteful subsidies, and rebalancing the disparity between recurrent expenditure and capex will be some of the key priorities to tackle. With the government’s ‘anti-corruption’ stance many hope that blocking leakages will help plug the revenue gap. However, recovering money that went missing will take time, while the new administration is not guaranteed that those funds are still available to recover.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) continued efforts to defend the currency reflect a desire to maintain the ‘status quo’ until more clarity emerges on the fiscal policy direction. However, delays in naming a finance minister have complicated matters, and concerns have arisen over how long the CBN will be able to maintain the current policy stance. Thus far, the currency has been artificially maintained, drawing harsh criticism for “spontaneous” monetary policy from various quarters, including The Economist magazine.

The imposition of new forex controls by the CBN - restricting the supply of US dollars to importers of a wide range of products - has helped to stabilise the country's reserves which became severely depleted. However, the latest round of forex controls, together with those already implemented, only serve as a temporary solution. Parallel market rates currently range between N220-230 to the US dollar, illustrating a wide disconnect between this level and the official rate of N197 set by the CBN. Ultimately, with imbalances in the Nigerian economy growing and the currency still considered over-valued, the currency will come under further pressure. It will be difficult to sustain capital controls at current levels especially when considering that loosening restrictions is seen as a prerequisite for the country to remain in the JP Morgan Emerging Market Bond Index. Against this backdrop international investors are likely to hold off from investing money into the economy until the expected devaluation takes place. A removal from the index may well result in a sharp sell-off of foreign-held Nigerian fixed income assets and thereby put further pressure on the currency.

According to analysts in Nigeria, businesses are battling to cope with the current realities on a practical level. Economist Tunji Andrews believes business remains in the dark on the nation's economic direction. “Whilst they cannot abandon already existing operations, it's also difficult to embark on new or expansionary projects; so as not to fall on the wrong side of policy.” This downbeat view is echoed by Abuja-based commodities trader Archit Tiwari, who argues that the business environment has been extremely tough since the start of the year. “With the fall in the value of the naira and then the new CBN rules, sourcing forex has become very tough. Since everybody is unsure about what levels the naira will touch, importers are sitting on stock and not selling it. Exporters too are finding it difficult to adapt to a fluctuating conversion rate. In the agriculture sector, there were high hopes from the government, but ministers have not yet been appointed and there is still no clarity on what policy direction will be taken. With many states not paying wages on time, demand is very low too.

” With nothing that President Buhari or his administration can do to change the oil price, Nigerian authorities will need to focus on reform policies to address fiscal weaknesses and deterioration in the country’s forex buffers. However, delays in the formation of the cabinet, and a lack of tangible progress on the security front, have begun to chip away at the enormous goodwill the president inherited upon his inauguration. As the country battles chronic energy shortages, tighter credit conditions and a generally unfavourable economic climate, it is imperative that a clear direction for economic reform is forthcoming. With the new administration still getting to grips with the policy puzzle, investors have adopted a “wait and see” stance with the hope that their cautious optimism is not unfounded. However, the risk of any positive momentum dissipating is very real unless the country’s policy vacuum is addressed timeously.

His complains about the challenges due to global communications trends shows he is not updated and flexible enough to move NIPOST to the next level. He is good riddance to bad rubbish. Only hope the government will not politicize his replacement.

NIPOST needs total operational overhaul and process re-engineering to compete with its counterparts globally in the nearest future, it's currently very far behind. A creative, highly flexible and smart young business manager with expertise in Information Technology will be more suitable for this position in my opinion not a career civil servant with useless employee mindset. It's a very tough job to move NIPOST to the current levels from his present state.

This is exactly what a lot of sane people are concerned about. Unfortunately most probe chanters do not realize Nigeria though perceived as a lawless country is not really lawless for people who know their rights, have the funds and time to pursue their cases with very smart lawyers on thier side.

Process is simple, investigate first, get court order for arrest, arrest and charge suspect to court within 48 hours. Failure to follow these processes will cost Nigerians a lot for damages in the long run without the government recovering nothing from the corrupt officials.

Whatever is worth doing is worth doing well.

And the embarrassments continues...we are being embarrassed on a daily basis because the ruling party in its rush to sustain the lies that brought it to power is taking common sense for granted. Making useless allegations without simple fact check.

How could President Buhari, the perm sec and the whole of APC not know that the Chinese loan for Lagos-Kano rail was not given? Very simple check would have solved this. Time and time again, they keep underestimating the intellectual prowess of NOI and again she keeps educating them on very simple basic things.

Since the president & APC are very desperate to indict her, him and his team should at least take their time to do a thorough job and save us from further embarrassment. They have all the tools, datas and powers to audit and indict her since it's a must. At least be or pretend to be professional. It's a shame really. Too shameful for Nigeria as a serious country.

NOI doesn't look like someone who would wrestle pigs and be stained. The pigs need to do their due diligence to know areas where they can touch and stain her if they must stain her.
