Ran a scan on the car this afternoon and came up with 4 errors with remarks: Error 1...PO758 - Shift Soleniod B Circuit electrical Error 2...P1078 - Manufacturer Control Fuel and Air metering Auxiliary emissions control Error 3...P1166 - Manufacturer Control Fuel Air metering Error 4...P1167 - Manufacturer Control Fuel Air metering Please appreciate layman explanations to these error codes. Thanks |
This afternoon...I thought taking pictures showing the high RPM while in gear to post here. Surprisingly the gear loaded normally with the RPM coming down like it normally does but the car didn't move. It didn't move in Reverse and also in Drive gears, just as if its still in Neutral or Park position. I tried it several times and the RPM didn't go up again in gear like yesterday |
surveyProf: Frm his write-up I doubt so, the woman is crafty, dis time she will pay for it!Annoyingly crafty |
smajeedmc: You Need to Change the Gear Box if you Want We can send Gear Box from Dubai if intrestes please send us email pehlatv@yahoo.com or Call +971566938359How much is your gear box only? And how much is the complete engine with the gear? How long would it take to arrive Lagos plus port clearance? |
I was informed by my mechanic today that I need to change my transmission after changing the oil and servicing the gear switch without results. My observations: 1. The oil drained out of the transmission was black though it was last serviced in December and last week when the problem occurred. (Had to change the oil again before managing it home...first oil drained from December service was also black...it was fine when I left the house) 2. The RPM goes up instead of coming down when put in gear but stays on 1 when in Neutral or Park 3. My last ride was hellish the speed was not proportional to my acceleration...Had to manage it home at 40km/hour 4. The D light flashes continouosly 5. Car is CRV 2002 model 6. Drive gear moves but I need to apply so much force for it to move, doing so raises the RPM so high while the speed is very slow (Observed this on my last ride while managing it home) 7. Reverse gear doesn't move at all...keeps reving no movement Please I just want to be sure before taking a decision. Thank you |
Siena: Giving up is defeatist. I admire those that have the tenacity to carry on scambusting. It can't make NL 100% fraud-free, but it'll make all the difference. Even a 20% reduction in conmen/women is good. Besides, it makes good reading too!True giving up is defeatist but I agree 100% with @Rooneyboy's suggestion. At a point sustainability will become an issue especially with the growing rate of scam cases on NL. At the moment what we are doing is curing not preventing. Curing is more expensive than prevention. I would like to suggest Nairaland Busines, Computers and Auto sections do verification of members before allowing post for sale. Its easy and fast these days using e-verification process (Scan driver's license, PHCN bill confirming members address, phone numbers, CAC RC or BN numbers for registered companies etc) This would not solve the problem 100% but it will assist in sanitizing the site to a manageable level. For now @Surveyprof investigative skills is what we are relying on...what happens if he is not chanced tomorrow? I sell and buy products and services on this site, I would like to continue doing this without fear of being scammed like it was some 5 to 6 years back. |
Good to see you here @Surveyprof. Please let's not blame the OP for speaking out so as not to discourage others from doing same. Anyone can be defrauded by thieves, post like this helps to prevent the same person from defrauding others. @OP, Please post payment details here (tellers, receipt, etc) and every other details you have of the Nairalander. Sorry for the loss. |
Which of the Links you Supplied are Valid again ? I have banned and Deleted all the Posts and Links. Once any Scam topic is Reported or Is Noted, We Act on them immediately Cheers Inspired
Thanks Inspired. That is good to know. Please let's sustain this. Thank you! |
surveyProf: I will want to agree with you to some extent, the suspect "Omowunmi Omotayo Allen" was able to go scot-free because some nairalanders who were victims are greedy, the reason is that in the United States, one can easily make an order for stuff, without necessarily making payment, but with credit card, perhaps that's what Wunmi has been doing, den she will now snap the gadgets and display dem here on NL with some ridiculous prices, just to attract buyers, and if nobody is responding to the advert, she will den use her other Nairaland user name, to show intrest, just to attract other nairalanders, to come in and patronize the product, she equally did that in the "Property section of nairaland" she went as far as meeting a traditional head of one of the villages in Lekki, did a video coverage of the plot of lands and called it "Pinky Estate" and some building projects going on around the village, and uploaded it on Youtube to get her victim to show some degree of intrest, especially those Nigerian's abroad, that was her target.Thank you prof. This is refreshing. If we really want to stop scammers on this site, an example as stated above and worse needs to be made of scamming members and very publicly too with pictures, full names and every other details one can come across. I believe doing this consistently will reduce their activities here and improve the integrity of the site. Nairaland is like new Nigeria to me and have personally referred so many people here. People who are very dear to me and would not be happy hearing they have been scammed. From the look of things the site owner and the moderators do not seem to think the safety of their members is key to them or maybe they are currently working on it already. Whatever the case is the fight against fraud is our collective responsibility. If you have been scammed please speak up, fine you might not recover your loss but you would succeed in running the thieves out of business online. |
This could have been prevented if some people here had not done paddy paddy arrangement for the lady by refusing to move her past fraudulent transactions to the front page to prevent other victims preying into her deceit, instead they chose to do her a favour by moving the threads to obscure sections to save her face. Using somebody's comment of her previously defrauding Sienna and a single mother in the past...I searched and found the 2009 exposure of the lady in question. She has preyed people here severally and has a habit of playing to the gallery instead of confronting her accusers head on. Please see threads below: www.nairaland.com/297712/set-record-straight-pinkequity-pinkbloomer www.nairaland.com/289834/fight-finish-sienna-v-coolface89/5 (the accusations starts from page 5 though she has successfully edited her comments) Nairaland belongs to all. Thieves should not be treated with kids gloves simply because we have bonded with them over time and 'don't want to embarrass our friends'. Aieromon (the OP) joined Nairaland since December 1st 2008, chances are high that had the lady been exposed appropriately then in 2009 on the front page it could have prevented the OP from falling victim. We can't arrest fraudsters as members but we can run them out of business by exposing them appropriately saving others from falling prey. Please let's stop treating fraud cases with kids glove. Go to auto section now and see fraudsters having a field day, posting cars at ridiculous prices looking for preys. If using Nairaland platform is not lucrative to them they would not be here. |
payless: This fraudulent activity is getting out of hand. Imagine 2008 honda accord for 1.3 million naira or 2009 Acura MDX for 1.4 million naira.Nice work @Payless. Saw your scam alert alerts comments on some threads now. Its confirmed NAIRALAND has been invaded by THIEVES. I hope the moderators and Seun takes this invasion seriously. Its not good for the image of the site. |
sycamore: Pls check these ones too:You are right about the registration. Its like scammers just discovered NL. Have been monitoring the stats of new members...the rate its growing is crazy since January this year. Monitor it and see for yourself. |
Airtel has been messing in my area (New Oko-Oba) since December, last year. I have called them several times without results. Tried Etisalat...that one na pano pano...not good at all with very poor customer service. Had to humbly subscribe to MTN which funny enough has been delivering steady 3G for the past 2 weeks now with good customer service. Surprised. Surprisingly I turned back to Airtel last night and found EDGE which has been stable till now. I hope Airtel has corrected itself, have been using them for 10 years now without complain until lately. They still remain my favorite network. |
OP, Nice effort sanitizing NL from scammers. Please hook up with the OP of this thread: www.nairaland.com/1142530/list-known-scammers-nairaland-pls/4#14034419 Your goals are the same. I don't know the possibility of modetrators merging threads, would have loved to suggest both threads (Yours and his) are merged together as one and pinned permanently to the front page to sensitize innocent people and reduce scam activities. GOD bless you guys. Please keep it up. |

Another sad story. @Surveyproof, Nice trackings. Are we sure she is aware of this thread? I would like to recommend sending links of this thread to all her IDs registered email addresses. To be sure she is fully aware. To prevent reoccurance, I will like to suggest this thread: www.nairaland.com/1142530/list-known-scammers-nairaland-pls is permanently pinned on the front page and updated regularly to sensitize people of other people's experiences, latest scammers tricks, their identities and most importantly as a constant reminder that anyone could be a victim of fraud hence the need to thread cautiously. Yes we cannot arrest scammers but we can mess them up big time online and minimize their activities drasically on this site. I think Seun should also insert a bold scam alert on Nairaland. @OP, sorry for your experience. I can imagine how painful this is to you. |

Ikenna351: So much waste of money!Thank you very much Ikenna. To be fair to the current rewire handling the car, he actually did clean the IACV same way as you mentioned. He dismantled it, sprayed it with carb cleaner and lubricated with brake Fluid and coupled it back in my presence. I have scanned the car, unfortunately I can't remember the result again but when the car was scanned, the noozles were thoroughly cleaned and serviced with cleaners with the above IACV procedure, only for the problem to reoccur again 2 days after prompting the fuel pump and fuel tank cleaning which was concluded today. I need to also mention that the rewire did the fuel pump change and fuel tank cleaning at his own cost with an agreement that if it doesn't stall again in one week I will reimburse him everything. I will test drive throughout this week and update you on my findings. Thanks for your time. Appreciate. |
Woah...Its like this topic is discussing my current experience. My CRV 2002 model suddenly developed a problem in July last year. The problem is the car doesn't idle. When you put in the gear the RPM drops to zero and the engine goes off. Also I can't drive it at holds up...its hell. The only time I can drive it is on a free way and the fuel consumption is very, very high. I have dealt with different mechanics and rewires none have been able to successful solve the problem. In July last year, one of the rewires change the Idle Air control valve which seems to work until December last year...between then and now I have bought 2 Idle air control valves without results. It will work but after a day or 2 the fault will resurface. They have serviced the noozle (or fuel injector) countless times without permanent success. Infact they just returned the car today since yesterday washing the fuel tank and changing the fuel pump. I am suppose to test it tomorrow to know if the problem still persist. To be honest, I am dead tired...not too motivated to drive it but would try all the same with the hope that it works permanently this time around. Here is a picture of the Idle air control valve changed twice now without permanent results
