It is indeed true that some Nigerians are not happy for a free circulation of the old and new Naira notes together as it will stop their business of reselling either notes for gains. Your, they have been doing it and getting away with it is about to stop. If you have worked in well organised institution you will understand why CBN should not be involved in the destruction of old currencies as it obtained in other countries.

Accountability is the issue and the correct and adequate authorisation levels and the safeguard of the country for common good.

Example of wilful destruction of government properties without provocation and appropriate authorisation is what we are witnesses to today and the consequences of these destructions will go beyond the Buhari government.

1. The money that the public submitted to the banks for onward transmission to the CBN is government money. On government properties the process of scrapping to the destruction has courts involved to authorise the particular amount of money.

2. All the scrapping of the money must be documented in Nigeria government accountant general office which is outside CBN and they can all be queried by competent courts of jurisdiction.

3. If these videos showed money from the CBN then Nigerian lawyers and NBA leadership has to seek punishment for these people that have violated Nigeria government properties without appropriate authority.

4. The CBN official are just a department of the federal government in charge of monetary matters not the scrapping or destruction of old currencies.

5. If the CBN officials are allowed to comit this blue murder without punitive implications, Nigeria and Nigerians must be ready for a future of confusion and attendant catastrophe of unimaginable dimensions happening without anyone being able to make amends.
