Very able comic personality, always ready to fact check his junior brother on the truth in their ijesa ancestry RIP to a gentle soul. Komolafe and chief olaiya will be missing a third rib. Adeu. |
If PDP leaders and presidential candidates know so much about the frauds during the elections, reasonability demands that they should go to a court of competent jurisdiction and stop giving news conferences thereby disturbing the peace of the Nigerian landscape. Elections comes once in four years and all contestants should prepare themselves well The be ready to loose and win. It is majority that carries the day. Bola Ahmed Tinubu is ahead this time who will be next time. Atiku should be advised to keep calm because nobody discouraged him from not agreeing with Wike and his group. Just imagine a war general going to war with half of his troops in discussion with their enemies. He will surely loose and very badly too. Atiku was never artikulate rather he was carefree and careless enough to open a window for his political opponents to move straight into the middle of his troops while the war was in progress. The true general won the battle and the battlefield and if he should continue his noise making he could disintegrate the PDP and Atiku will be remembered as someone that is too proud in character and very difficult individual lacking wisdom and understanding to manage success and failures. |
Samueltemi337:Chief Assessor of the federal Republic of Nigeria. Is that all. Keeping your eyes on the ball. |
Parachoko:This thread like many others are filled with people that don't read at all just impromptu responses to topics. Fyi, please check the Portugal map on their coast you will find another city named Lagos which has been in existence long time before the Portuguese people reached Lagos in circa1600 ad. Why did they named Eko Lagos? It was recorded in our 1960 primary school history class that the coastal areas of the Eko Islands resembles that of the city of Lagos in Portugal and so the Portuguese sailors begin to call it Lagos. So many other cities of the world has been named by the European explorers to suit their exploration activities and purposes of remembering those locations in their voyages. I think the world is currently enjoying a population filled with people that could not navigate to the truth and true knowledge. Bible predicted that knowledge will increase truly but of what use when it is not well appreciated by the people for their betterment. |

You may not expect the duo of Buhari and emeleole to issue a memo to correct their evil design. If the duo have any human regards for due processes they should just issue a memo stating their compliance with supreme court justices pronouncements and direct the Nigerian banks to be paying out and receiving the old and new Naira notes. Otherwise, their shame and sorrows will multiply because hungry Nigerians will take the law in their hands. Buhari is a shameless connivance for evils. Everything he touched has turned very bad. |
thebosstrevor1:It is pretty obvious that many people are very lazy at reading to gain good understanding and knowledge of topics under discussion on the treads of nairaland, these people will rather jump into the discussion ready to write ineligible compression out of tune and steps of discuss. Just virtuperations or repetitions or mindset on previous topics. The presidential elections has been won and lost according to INEC officers and losers can contest decleared results in competent courts in Nigeria. |
My own worry about these na we win people be, if Obidient won with all these states and artikulate won with all their own states too 1. How many other states were left for president elect ojuyombo to contest and win? 2. Why did INEC failed to print more winning certificates for artikulate and Obidient? 3. Let everyone come to the presidential swearing ceremony in may with their certificates and give opportunity to the Nigerian chief Justice to pick one of them to swear in as president. If I were the chief Justice I will pick the person with the most beautiful certificate well decorated with good emojis at the periphery all about. What do you think too? To settle all these na we win na them win matter. Thanks. |
Best described as a candidate for good government for the future in Lagos State. Governor Sanwo Olu is doing fine under the circumstances of the Nigerian economy and industrial development of Lagos State visible to discerning individuals. Lagosians should vote Sanwo Olu for continuity. There is no perfect environment or conditions anywhere in the world, it is the duty of worthy administration to forge ahead doing what is good and right under prevailing conditions. Sanwo Olu is doing just that, he deserves a second term. |
Why is it so difficult for some people to accept the supreme court judgements and move on. These people should realise that power is very transient and should be used carefully before you spoil the future of your children and families. The Bible says a good name is better than much riches. We Nigerians are suffering from your hard hearted decisions particularly this your monetary inventions which is not found in any reasonable country anywhere. We the People awaits your change of heart asap. |
greggng:Fyi, some Igbo people are already dragging land from these statements I am reading. All those writing that their families has been in Lagos before Lord lugard and they are in the third generation of Igbo people in Lagos are writing to express a claim to the city of Lagos. But I know that Yoruba people wil equally tell them why they are not at the appropriate time and place. Wanting to claim indigenes title will require some prove and proven history of the family concern. Most of the claim will fail because upon your arrival at Yoruba land from anywhere you will need to mention the name of the Yoruba family members that welcome your grandfather into Lagos and the relationship at the time. What privileges were extended to you upon arrival and witnesses to up using such privileges at the time. Did your parents participate in the Yorubaland warfares and on whose side did he fought? Or was your grandfather a captive of the Yoruba intercine warfare and used as a slave and which Lagos family did got attached to? Man, Yoruba people get traditional practices that you are supposed to be familiar with with your long stay in their land. These are some questions indigenes title seeking people must respond to. |
mrvitalis:Hiuunnn, you won the Nigerian presidency without certificate of return, or do you have a oluwole Eko certificate somewhere. Please come with it to the swearing in ceremony for the Nigerian President on May 29th. The person with true certified copy of the certificate, with evidences and witnesses, will be sworn in fyi. My advice |
asanausana91:though you don't deserve a Yoruba response, With the Muslim Muslim tickets going through now when next time of presidential elections a Christian Christian tickets can emerg with appropriate intelligence and wisdom and it will sail through as well. Please don't stand too long in one place or holding an opinion over any matter for too long. This suggestion will help your blood system. The Nigerian landscape also have other religions and their practitioners will seek elections too. Besides brother Christian when last did you go to church? |
Damson22:Don't mind the irrelevant gang in Oyo State political landscape. Despite money changing problems, Oyo State people should come out and vote wisely for Seyi makinde for the good and peace of mind to continue in the state. Folarami will bring back the evil days long gone in Oyo State if permitted. He will surely disappoint these same people he is parambulating with today. |
Despite all your APC people propagation and propaganda on this tread Teslim ti lu le, there is nothing Teslim can do to win the hearts and minds of Oyo State people because Seyi makinde is established in the Oyo State brain and network. We Yoruba people are good at dramatic effect of political ingenuity and colouration to the confusion of our enemies and joyousness of the polity. Seyi makinde should just go out and campaign as he has been doing for the rest of the week till the Saturday elections. He should put people in position to ensure no ballots riggin or minimise rigging effects on the final results. Seyi efforts to minimise rigging in Oyo State will determine the favourability of results to his camp. |
neolboy:You are thinking? That should be the focus, the ground is shifting in favour of the youths, it seems with that famous Lagos State victory. |
Fake or unworthy news. How can a massive police and military operations recover just 33 million naira on election eve when one atilulated individual in Rivers State is with 1 trillion Naira worth of US dollars and was not caught by police? Nigerian magic news. |
Malory:Atiku relied on his US dollars while the Lagos landlord rely on the Naira. Each of them on a good day can mop up all the Cash available in the Nigerian landscape with changes in their pockets. Nigeria is in big trouble if any of the two enters the Nigerian presidency. Obasanjo said amongst the three prominent presidential candidates obidient is most amenable and will listen to the populace if needed. The other two don't believe in the Nigerian people. |
The South Sudanese people are just coming out of civil wars and as such you expect tough and rough looks. I don't think that this guy's age should be in question. |
The creation and construction of the airport should be commended. It is needful. It can serve as a cargo and commercial airport. It will also serve to relieve Lagos international airport in times of need. I like the idea. |
The handshake is very important and good for the Nigerian democratic process and development. It is very good handshake as well, Obi is surely showing much respect to Tinubu and Tinubu is acknowledging as well as accepting that this person is favoured by the gods from his looks. It takes a deep person like Tinubu to acknowledge this early and accept subsequent returns from the presidential elections and results. Obi is doing well. |
N3TRAL:The main election is just around the corner by this Saturday. Why are you trying to overstretched your neck for expo results of the Nigerian presidential elections. Saturday here we come. Let us break from old to new, that will be great for Nigeria and Nigerian as it gives hope for a better tomorrow. |

Old tricks. Adoptions by unknown political parties? Will it help? |
This lady's write up was for the elections petition tribunal and not the supreme court justices injunction on Naira notes change out implementation imbroglio. Whomever brought this article to the fore at this very time has done a great disservice to the lady writer. There is no where in the article she reference supreme court's injunction on the Naira notes imbroglio. Nairaland editors should correct this anomaly. It is totally unfair to the lady writing career. |
Thermodynamics:Understanding has left some people since election season is around. They are now filled with envy and contestation spirit. Win at all costs demonic possession. Good reasoning are already thrown to the gutters. |
Nigerian governors, federal legislature, state legislatures should wake up from their slumber and save Nigerians from this Buhari created military situation in Nigerian Bank operations. First the governors have the right to state c of o s from any bank refusing to dispense Naira notes, new or old notes as operations demands. Buhari does not have the executive power to solely determine the type of currency to be used in Nigeria without the knowledge and endorsement of the Nigerian legislatures. We are in a democratic society. Buhari and his advisers in the CBN have erred. It should be known to the Nigerian governors that various banking industry operations in their various states are under their purview. Any bank that will not comply with their wishes and provide benefitial services to their various states should pack up and go to the States where their services are needed. The Nigerian constitution give authority to the state governments over landed issues with responsibilities to ensure safety, security and peaceful coexistence of the people living in the States. Fyi, in the USA, bank operations are actually state governed and each bank have state licenses. Here federal licences still doesn't preclude state responsibilities. Let the governors take back their authorities from the Abuja lords for the sake of peace and prosperity of their states. We will always have a Buhari type of mindset in the Nigerian presidency. In the USA because of the autocratic people in NY and CA states people are moving out to Florida and Texas states where they live to find peace of mind and security provided by the state governments concern. So each Governor need to work in this direction for the good of the Nigerian people. |
Curious345:I don't know if the Nigerian army like other armies of the world are filled with your father's children to fill up the Nigerian banks and provide money. Lots of educated illiterate in the Nigerian landscape. You are surely one of them. |
Good thinking,. All the Nigerian states governors are bigger than Buhari federal government. if they choose to destroy any bank that refused old notes and also revoke their c of o I think Buhari and his emefiele will either come to their correct senses or allow the power show to continue till Buhari is vacated from office. Buhari is thinking he can initiate state of emergency in a state to remove any Governor but he has to give cogent reasons to the national assembly for support. But thinking about this, I don't see the national assembly supporting Buhari and his CBN on the Naira change implementation. Buhari is also not ready to lobby some members of the Nigerian national assembly for support. He is not Obasanjo who knew his ways around the national assembly. Buhari will surely loose out over this matter big time. Check it out. Let the governors threatened the commercial banks with threats of eviction and stoppage of business in their states and the CBN governor will suddenly realised that he has no control and power over the commercial banks without the Nigerian governors support. A big lesson for any future president of the Nigerian landscape. Game on. Expectation? Buhari to beg and rescind the Naira change implementation procedures. |
