mkpologwu: Kids are not supposed to commend on this kinda thread. People are actually going through a lot. Of a truth, I think I'm one of the most mentally stable Nigerian but I must confess I do get suicide thoughts when I see the things happening these days. Let's find them out and reach out to them while they live and before they leave. Be humble! You are not mentally stable; you haven't just reached your breaking point. |

The danfo bus is a raised platform, therefore a misstep when alighting could be fatal, especially when one lands on dangerous surface. It could happen when your clothe or anything one is carrying gets hooked on rough hedges or protruding metals. Death no hard if na ur time. |

Sports › Re: Ronaldo Will Not Face Charges In His Rape Case - US by Elliot2(m): 8:01am On Jul 23, 2019 |
eazzzy1: The me too movement has emboldened a lot of people to start saying lies and half truths. They call it saying ‘my truth’. They have also found a way to compel people to accept these lies even before they are proven.
My advise to guys, always make sure you have something of your own, one accusation can ruin your life. Imagine if pastor Biodun had a 9-5 job or was a pastor in someone else’s church, they would have suspended or let him go just so they don’t deal with the bad publicity.
Brothers hustle o. Your tenants won’t stop paying rent because you were accused of rape, your stocks wouldn’t stop paying dividends because of accusations, your land won’t stop appreciating because someone is telling what her mind has made up as the truth or rather ‘her truth’ This does not mean that there are no true rapists. And also,it does not mean Ronaldo didn't rape her;it only means the victim could not prove beyond reasonable doubts. And this right here is why victims don't wanna come out, because even the law does not trust them and thus expects a traumatised person to still have the mental capacity to have all details and evidence,as if they hashed and acted their own rape. It is absurd! Really, that we can never be like "God" who sees the heart, therefore evil men can get away with it by simply deleting evidences,or fallaciously derailing justice. Men and women, please say no to rape. |

GrabHisBalls: I hope after now, Timi won't have any other reason to complain as the case has been transferred to Lagos as he requested? That said, I decided to watch his conference yesterday, but opt out after he said he knew last year that his wife suffered rape. I mean, a woman who claimed to have been raped on multiple occasions by her pastor tells her husband about her ordeal after say 5yrs in marriage. That woman is a fraud! It is not your biz to dictate how a victim should act. |

BerryAnny: Africans and our sense of entitlement or should I say this Kimani is simply being stupid? You're questioning someone on who and who she selects to work with on her project, her f*cking project not yours. What happened to you selecting other artistes you feel were 'neglected' and record your album too? That's how Bonang or what's she called ranting Beyonce didn't feature any South African artiste, forming Pan-African on top another man's work. Idiats!!! When you realise that there is a need to create harmony even in a diverse groups, then the better things flow. Today,we complain about the fulani taking every important positions, and likewise some complain about the Igbo domination in the soccer scene. It is a problem so long some are marginalised. |

Family › Re: I Caught My Housemaid Sexually Assaulting My Son by Elliot2(m): 9:31am On Jul 16, 2019 |
themonk: Can you stop making noise please, beating doesn’t solve anything! Abroad they don’t beat kids at all and they grow up to be less violent and more empathetic than people here. The reason you didn’t become all those things wasn’t because you were beat but because you grew up and recognized they are wrong.
If you beat a child for smoking or any other bad thing, the child in his brain would think you are maltreating him/her and not that what he did is wrong. If that child grows up and finds that that thing is still right in his/her eyes he/her will continue doing it. Can you beat them when they are grown?
The best you can do for a child is talk to the him/her and forbid them easy access to things that would lead them to the negative aspects of life. Beating just delays it nothing more, I knew a guy his father is a soldier and he beats him all the time the guy still grew up to be a cultist. Beating does nothing bro. You make it sound like life is a one way thing. The abroad you are talking about, the US and the UK's ,with constant gang and drug related knife deaths and gun deaths,I guess it was beating of wards that instill such barbarism? I can't count how many wayward guys I know that chose that line of life cos they lacked disciplinary parents and guardians. It wasn't lack of counselling but lack of discipline! I am telling you what worked for me,and also some people I know. It wasn't my dads efforts but purely my mom. Though parents can't dictate grown ups but at a very tender age, beating and counselling in pure love can mould a child;but unless that child's village people are involved. |
Family › Re: I Caught My Housemaid Sexually Assaulting My Son by Elliot2(m): 1:02am On Jul 16, 2019 |
Daisy17: I disagree with you. Beating does not solve the problem. The dad has to create a safe space for the boy to feel comfortable enough to express himself and have an honest conversation. Beating will cause the child to close up. This is the reason why a lot of parents do not have close, open relationships with their kids. What will make a child be open when they know that it will lead to beating? I don't know the part of Africa that you come from, but right her I am beating does. I would have been a cultist or prolly dead if not of the beating I received from mom. |
