Resurgent2016: Sometimes keeping an application simple is better.
If they are retired and have a source of income why do they still provide a bank statement?
I did same for my in-law, she provided no statement, just shared my own statement and it was granted with no questions. Okay... do you suggest I reapply without their own statement of account? |

realpearl: From this screenshot it looks like you used a credit and loan bank to fund their POF and the bank removed the funds before the bank statement was printed and submitted. Hence showing their closing balance as N34k or £40.
My advice, don’t re apply immediately in fact, don’t reapply for now. Nope... the POF was in pounds and intact.. the statement is just their regular account |

dduchess90: Hello
I see your questions have been addressed in the general visa thread
There’s nothing more I have to add
You definitely need enough evidence to convince the ECO that they have sufficient hometies.
Cheers Thank you |

Newbiein2016: Giselle is giving you good advise but it's up to you to take it.
Your response indicates this application was approached in a willy nilly manner and to be honest rushing to reapply might earn another refusal if not done properly.
You need to prove to the VO that they will return & will not access public funds during their stay in the UK.
To do this, you must show through carefully put together documentation their hometies to Nigeria.
This is not restricted to their house documents but can and should include:
- Their financial circumstances (including all bank statements showing the cooperative millions, which BTW ought to have been included ab initio). You should have included their savings information.
- Their professional ties (employment letters, promotion letters, reference letters, payslips, retirement letter, retirement benefit, even pension accounts & statement etc.)
- Their social ties (e.g. if retired and a member of a society, should include this with supporting documentation)
- Family hometies (other children, grandchildren in Nigeria). Given this refusal, it might be prudent for only one person to apply as advised and the other serve as hometie.
- Any other tie to demonstrate they'll return home. Thank you. Advise taken into consideration |

giselle237: they cant have such long years of working or just retiring and present such account statements and both of them want to be sponsored fully. What happens if your sister with 7k pounds after spending 4k on them is not able to meet up? So she would be left with 3k. Then if something happens and both are not able to go back, she will be struggling financially as she would have her bills + them tk take care of. Then does it mean they will recourse to public funds? My opinion. .. do not reapply now, work on bank statements… work on ties. At least the person working should aim to have some funds. Cnt have only 300k in account and say they will spend 200k out of it. ECO is asking what sort of decision is this? To spend almost all account balance on 1 month trip that one can not personally afford makes no sense and casts doubts on their intention. Last promotion letter is not enough, provide all promotion letters and lastly let one person step down for the other while using the other partner as one of home ties. If one person gets granted, then second can retry They can't travel separately as my father in law is almost 70 and he can't stay back or come alone, also If We are to work on the statement, it will definitely be late for the graduation. They both have cooperative savings over the years that is into millions but I don't feel it's necessary that's why I didn't put it in the previous application. |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by elohim24: 10:55pm On Oct 15, 2023 |
giselle237: 1 month for graduation is the first red flag. Next pls clarify what documents proving their ties to Nigeria that they did submit. It is not good enough that the sponsor will wholly fund their trip. Their personal circumstances each would be taken into account and now to make matters worse both of them who would have served as home tie to the other, both of them want to travel together for graduation. Not good enough seeing that they have failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt why they will be returning to Nigeria. Stuffing each person’s account with 1 million and reapplying is not the solution. U must address and prove what will bring them back to Nigeria. It was stated in the application that they want to spend some times with the grandkids before returning to Nigeria.... as for documents, my mother in law is a deputy director for which I submitted appointment letter, last promotion letter and statement of account. My father in law is retired and appointment and retirement letter was provided as well... the document of the house which they jointly owned was provided as well. We might reduce the time to 2 weeks though. |

Hello guys .... my wife's parents were refused visa last week. They are coming to the UK for the daughter's graduation and the daughter indicated she'll be funding everything with about £2,000 each and her statement of account has almost 7k. We plan to reapply immediately because the graduation is 4 weeks away... can we put 1m each in their account and say they plan to spend half of it personally during the trip or we should nullify their own statement of account entirely... below is the screenshot of the refusal letters

Rubber stamped legislature, very predictable set of people. They dare not go against their daddy. All the initial noise is just gragra. Anything buhari asked them they must do. Worst legislative arm since 1999. The approve loan with reckless abandon, no oversight function, they got disrespected by every appointee of the executive and to top it all, their leaders are buhari scrotum licker. Spits |

The hotel should be shut down immediately and if the man is found guilty , he should be made to transfer ownership of oduduwa university to another entity. What kind of wickedness is this? Someone travelled all the way from Abuja to Ife to upgrade himself only to be murdered by these useless souls. Their punishment will start on earth. People should always inform friends and relatives of their whereabouts. Imagine this case would have been buried if the man did not notify the wife of his movement |

As expected, in as much as police brutality is a nationwide problem we can't deny the fact that it is prevalent in the south. This is partly because the north loves themselves more than the south. Take political assassination and thuggery into consideration, northerners hardly gun themselves down (except the unknown gunmen ). The southerners in military and paramilitary need to realize that uniform and arms are meant to protect citizens and not to oppress and flex muscle. |

Alobayz: Hello All,
Please, l need advice on WES. l did WES in 2019 on my certificates and l remember l chose academic instead of immigration when filling the form online. Then, l did it to apply for a PhD admission in the US.
My question now is, can l use it for Canadian Immigration Express entry You can't use that particular report but you can notify Wes to reevaluate your certificate for immigration purpose and I think that will be easier as they already have your documents with them. |

xandy84: 21 Supreme court judges !!! That is unnecessary duplication of offices at the expense of tax payers. United States with almost twice population of Nigeria has 9 Supreme court judges. What is Nigeria doing with 21 judges? We need to trim those judges to five for real. Each state in United States has supreme court and only federal matter are being entertained by the supreme court. But here in Nigeria, every criminal case can be dragged to supreme court, civil lawsuits of 1998 are still being heard at the supreme court. Our constitution and institutions need to be revamped. |

Image laundering at it's best. If celebrities don't want scrutiny, the should keep their "achievements " to themselves. These girls only appears in few movies in a year and they started buying properties worth tens of millions. Nobody is hating but we all know Destiny Etiko cannot afford that car. |
