follypimpi:That is a good idea. ![]() FL Gators:Okay no worries. ![]() |
@genuflect Thank god that is your view and not that of the general opinion. Respect do not equate to album sales. I think what you are talking about is "street credibility" or "street cred". Or to use the proper term, Mass appeal. As it stand to test and judging on what people are saying in their defence, these folks have a decent mass appeal. Yes their album may not have done well according to you, but it do not mean there is no respect for them like you are saying. @Op I am disgusted at your last reply. Role models are people whom kids and society can look up to in a positive light. Not about how many cars or joint they go. I am not sure you even know the meaning of what you are saying. Tuface et al may be good commercially, but he is not a good role model. |
Genuflect, how is their respect down? It appears to me you are basing respect on number of album sales or how well they are known. Tell me am wrong. |
Please try not to hijack this thread. ![]() Here is the updated list FollyBIGsmallPimp Rs231 TKB417 ?? Madlady ?? platinumnk Pweety4me ?? jay bee Chamotex. Debosky Sienna and Wife. ![]() FL Gators Kal/El Galatico Any more? ![]() |
wumiabo:A thread that is nothing but hearsay and allegation against a Nigeria artist. I think you will find by Nairaland music section standards, this is an achievement. Probably equivalent to having a PhD or something. ![]() |
ofokaofoki:If it is really important, my email address is in my profile. Sorry, but Facebook is a bit too personal. ![]() |
Kai, this guy is just waxing it more and more. I guess this makes him one of the richest dead artist. I won't be surprised if he surpasses Elvis, Liberace Bob Marley and co. His recent DVD and what not outsold many living artist. Proof that legends live long. ![]() I think this is why it is important to make good music. Music that stand the test of time, not the garbage this auto tune generation are coming out with these days. Anyway, here is the news link. http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_entertainment/music/article7063490.ece The estate of Michael Jackson has landed the late King of Pop the biggest recording deal in history: a reported $200 million (£133 million) guaranteed contract with Sony Music Entertainment for ten projects over seven years. It will be interesting to see what the official announcement have in stock. |
He is right it should be regulated once things ain't going his way. He is also correct on the basis that if there is internet regulation, some people won't be allowed on the internet. Just think about all the weirdos on nairaland. |
There is no better, both are good at what they do. |
A minor revenge? You must be kidding me. |
What is the point of comments when you are not taking anything on board? You really need loads of practice and it is not something you can do in weeks. |
@dbr post removed post. Was halfway in a lecture room and posting that. Apologies. The matter should die. |
I just hope this is a sincere apology. If RM is reading this, let him just move on and put it behind will be my advice. Some things ain't worth the hassle. |
Post removed for the sake of peace and to avoid bickering. |

@Tosin, sorry I forget to say thanks for those screen shot. Thanks. ![]() |
![]() Javalove is at fault on this one in my opinion. Why not leave both of them to it? From the message posted, Javalove was very insulting and all Rugged did was have a bit of ego trip. Nothing any "on top" artist won't do. Perhaps the only other fault I can put to ruggedman was replying to the filth Javalove sent to him. With all due respect, Javajaji, this have nothing to do with you. Things like this can easily get out of hand and people die you know. Like Tosin mentioned to you, this guy have real and crazy fan. I am not sure you are doing yourself any favour. Your security should be paramount and facebook is the least of places you want to start things like this. Your photos and what not is everywhere. I am not in support of what RM did the last time, but to be honest it was directed at a fellow artist, which in my opinion is understandable. But Java's approach is very immature and lack of class. ![]() |
Anyone care to explain what is going on. So far all I know is it appears Java posted private conversation. Is there more or background to all of these? ![]() |
Can you take time to explain EXACTLY what happened? ![]() |
What exactly did you do to him? ![]() Post his private conversation in public? ![]() Please fill me in. |
Is this for real? I mean his real name is Lukman Jaji. . . . For real? lol. Nah wah o. Nothing to say, I just hope Hiphop is not about to take a wrong turn for naija. ![]() |
eldee:Thanks. It is working fine now. ![]() |

Siena:Done. I am guessing it will be in the warmer time. This is just to jog people's memory and to get the planning right. It can be pretty demanding behind the times as we have to go and check venues, discuss prices, menu, security and what not. FL Gators:Anything for you. Or better still, work and use your own damn money? I love you, but why spend mine when we can spend yours? Yeye Arab money digger. ![]() Well, update will be dependant on whether you are in or out. For the record, only paying members will get an update. Security of everyone is something I take serious. ![]() |
mikeansy:Gbam. It is disgusting isn't? Imagine someone like Kosovo - not a surprise - making a sticky just to lick Seun's backside. Jeez. |
eldee:Yeah I see what you mean. Many great songs have been destroyed completely with remakes and what not. This one feels like Fela was actually alive when it was done. Yeah the accent was in the intro. Anyone from Somalia is probably more african than someone from Nigeria. Why? Because they live a life of struggle than us. lol. Omo please pump my veins full of his music. Tomorrow is a busy day as I get induction and what not. If it isn't too much trouble I no go mind make I get the other links too. Just on a side note, the blended Fela with Malcolm X. That is some crazy idea there. I wonder who produced the album. It is a very good work of Production, Sampling, Sound engineering etc. I just hope the Bot don't pick on my post again. **Copies this one just in case** |
OMG "I'm Africa's Bruce Lee. . . . ." I am not denying that so far. ![]() |
Omo bad arse flow. I like it. I love how they blend the Afro beat with Mordern hiphop sounds. . . . Smooth. ![]() |
eldee:That is some good track. It is the first one am listening to. I love how the story unfolds. This is what I am always talking about. You are right, they did retain the feel to it - i.e never destroyed a classic.Yes o. Lol. 18 megs of internet speed, I might as well make good use of it. ![]() Gonna whip out the Sony Walkman and drag them in now. Thanks. I will post a more indepth view, but so far I like what am hearing. ![]() PS Gosh I love their "Hausa like" accent. ![]() |
