I have said and will continue to emphasize that the problem we face is a systemic one, emcopasses both us the governed and the government.. it amazes me how we often want a functionally perfect social amenities but are not ready to play our own part in achieving this. For the first time in our history, we are getting it right in power generation but some are choosing not to encourage it.. Call it ignorance or what.. Ignorance is no virtue so can't be excuse at times.. The new tariff was formulated to encourage gas generation and attract private participation especially in gas production which many investors are shying away from because our former tariff regime can't sustain them for such a huge venture. You ll understand that reliance on hydro and other things have been the bane in electricity generation since.. Even with this tariff, govt still subsidizes it heavily pls google world electricity tariff to understand wat other countries pay .. Pls those men should be jailed ASAP, they whatnot drag us back.. Or still resort to generator for one week to know how cheat your tariff, after all,if education is expensive you try ignorance..

In as much as I don't brief for govt for having fail on her part but we must also look internally for some of te solutions to the menace plaguing our dear nation by changing our ways to suite a relatively perfect society and then we can hold govt responsible for failing us.

These people have goofed again.. Political parties merger are based on sound and congruous ideologies which are distinctly lacking in this case.. The whole idea is some elitists conniving together to gainer strength to wrestle another elitist class and at the end nigeria is doomed for it.. The underlying philosophy propelling this merger is wrong and why I ll not vote for it.. It is not intended to solving the many social injustices plaquing the country but seem it ll worsen it.. That should give mobil, shell , chevron why they can not move.. Their business will foldup. All of them own filling station and other services they provide. From automechanic workshop. food stand and other services.. which is where their client are.

When nigeria govt relocated to abuja. Nigeria economy have never been the same. Nigeria use to have a very good economy before relocating to abuja. After relocation. the people of Nigeria started suffering, it destroy business. And it cost the govt twice to do business from abuja.

If you notice most countries have their capital at the sea port base on projection to trading path. In the case of Nigeria , lagos is the projected trading path. This is why nigeria economy got destroyed when they move the capital to abuja. before nigeria airport were working with airlines flighting from everywhere. because the capital was far from everybody. So people dont go by road by air. Now they dont have to, so aviation is dead in Nigeria. That why the airlines complain. The banking too is going dead.

In economics something you want to force people to use service to create jobs for people. Lagos at that time force nigeria to use the airline. when it was capital. It force majority of Nigeria to use the train system too. Now the trains are dead, because lagos was far from everybody at that time. so they were force to use train and airline, which created more jobs

Secondly, Lagos is not the only densely populated state in nigeria if you are talking of where you have a large chunk of consumers and there is no direct relationship btw site of production and location of consumers in this context. In this case Nigeria and sorrounding countries are the target .. Thirdly, administrative headquarters should be located near site of production in which case PH or any of the states close to the coast lands(ND) and someone asked why the haste in relocating the headquarters of NLNG from Owerri to Lagos immediately afterthecivil war? You, see if it had been in Owerri which is still an approximate distance to production site ,we would feel the relocation wasn't necessary.. We should start telling ourselves some truth,a lot of conspiracy went on in the past..we should leave sentiment aside and build a virie society where justice and peace ll reign.

Aptec Engineers Nigeria Limited (AENL)and Steag Encotec West Africa (SeWA) is the Consultant to the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN)The parent body of the NIPP. PHCN started several power projects in 2004 to comprehensively address the state of the electricity infrastructure in the country with open cycle power plants. The Phase II Power Projects in Nigeria consisted of an extension of four Open Cycle Power Plants under construction to Combined Cycle plants.

After several technical studies were completed, the project changed course to increase power output and improve thermal efficiency. After several adjustments, the total additional Phase II power plant output will contribute to increase total generation in Nigeria by 2,430MW.
SeWa was also contracted as Consultant by Power Holding Company Nigerian (PHCN) for the extension to combined cycle of four plants built under Phase I.

The following are the services rendered:

Review of Contractor’s Technical and Financial proposals
Advise on adequacy of Contractor’s Technical proposal
Negotiate total Phase II budgetary price

Let me take it from this angle, you said something about 2007 completion date, ok, maybe you are indirectly saying these projects were completed since then and GEJ has surreptitiously delayed the info so as to take the glory now.. Help us cos we can't fathom your blabbing.

GAR3TH: But this is what I'm talking about that people pretty much give their favorite political office holder in nigeria way to much credit. You guys are acting as if GEJ is doing this all by himself. Upgrading the transmissions and distribution infrastructure has been in the works for close to a decade and the road to privatization of the power sector has been going on for a while. The NIPP projects, even though it had it hiccups, was still in development for years. I mean I understand that GEJ is your candidate of choice but don't let your love for GEJ blind you of reality, Somethings already took place before he took office. And its not just GEJ, you will see it with Fashola, Ameachi and other politician people love blindly.
