well I wouldn't blame Ferguson too much on this because he went to extremes even almost breaking the law to sign Mikel. It was Mikel's reps backed by chelsea hierarchy that made john spurn Sir Alex's advances and I wouldn't have blamed the scot to washed his hands of the deal as bad market
The man tried his best sha. He was already affectionately referring to him as Obi Wan. Scholes was already looking out for the young lad. Damn! How I looked forward to that signing.

Chelsea just had to go to the extreme to get him. Fergie would have made him a better baller, I'm almost certain of that.

Mikel having or not having a problem with it is not the point. Mikel made a professional sacrifice but the World of football had a huge loss in that sacrifice too.

Until today we are yet to see a midfielder with such Grace and the destruction was huge.

Chelsea did not need him. Mourinho just wanted to destroy the union with Alex Ferguson, hoping to gain and edge. His selfishness destroyed a big impact in football.
Ferguson didn't want him enough. Else, how could he have let Mikel slip after his unveiling as a UTD signing?

Koulibaly is the best defender in the world at the moment (yes better than Dias) and it's a shame he is not pushing to move to a bigger club because he would not be recognized as that if he doesn't win trophies
Koulibali already has a trophy.

Maduka Okoye kept goal for all 90 as his side Sparta Rotterdam secured a 1-1 away draw in the Dutch Eredivisie.

His Eredivisie league stats currently stand as:

⏺️21 league games played (all starts)
⏺️29 goals conceeded.
⏺️47 saves made.
⏺️7 clean sheets.

Okoye and Sparta sits 12th in the Eredivisie.

Decent Job from Okoye. The Super Eagles' "German" Wall.
He could have had another clean sheet, his teammates just has to mess up in the dying minutes of the game to concede.

I bet Komekn would come out with his usual denigrating of this lad, telling us he's not scored up to 50 goals for the past 4 seasons. His "HERE AND NOW" theory fails to come to play in times like this.

Dayo Ajoge played for then Kwara star and Gabros of Newi before travelled to UK.

We are together in University of Ilorin with ex polish international Emma Olisadebe,Yemi Akinyanju of Kwara united,Niyi Ogunlana of Kwara star,Olumide Adewunmi of Kwara united,Akeem Lawal of plateau united, and also ex super eagles Seyi Olofinjana who then was a student of Lautech but played for Kwara united.

This was a period you see university students playing in NPFL and aforementioned players represented Nigeria at different world university games.

How I wish university games is revive cos players like Andrew Uwe(OAU),Adeolu Adekola(unilag),Nosa Osadolor(unilag)Impowosa Omoregie((unilag)James Jigbale(OAU),Olaolu Ashaolu(Unilorin),Edith Agoye(UI),Tunde Sanni(OAU),Willy Opera, etc were discovered playing university games.

The veteran wingers Segun Odegbam,Adokiye Aimesemeka and Felix Owolabi were products of tertiary school games.

Emma Olisadebe and Seyi Olofinjana were great beneficial of university games.

CC BascoVanVeli, Icon4s....pls is there any university students in present NPFL?
Interesting! I thought we had a university football league recently. HIFL, or what's it called?

The problem is outside Europe. European players who play in Europe under the EU are easily monitored, with less restrictions. Going outside Europe is a different ball game.
The virus isn't as monstrous at it is in Europe, so, I call büllshît on that theory.

His goals per minutes when given the opportunity to play has been more than sufficient currency to buy that right with change..

and when that right isn't given in Kelechi's case his output suffers! It is a vicious cycle really and I think he ought to leave the club if he wants to realise his potential, whatever that might be.
Rodgers, obviously don't not rate that lad. He need to find himself out of that team soon.
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by elunico: 4:57pm On Mar 18, 2021

From my observation Kelechi is a confidence player. The deterioration of his ability when he is lacking in confidence is more significant than for most other players. To build confidence though you need a good run in the team, not 10 mins this week 20 mins 2 weeks later etc. In 20 (TWENTY) of those 87 games you mentioned he had 10minutes or less on the pitch!! Transfermrkt*

He has never been given a proper run in any team in his career. That being said his goals per minute in all competitions overall so far in his career is indicative that he has something special. He needs to move to a club where he is the main man, starting week in week out over a season THEN we will be in a better position to pass judgement.

Look at Timo Werner and how much support he's getting to get firing. How many minutes did Salah and Lukaku get at Chelsea before they were offloaded? Those are excellent examples of what happens when a player is not given genuine chance and support before being labelled a 'mouse'.
His response to you would be: you earn the right to play, it's not given on a platter.

I don't think the news about clubs holding back their players from travelling this international break is true. These countries where these leagues are played would also be participating, I don't know where OGN is getting their news from.

It is not just about the Covid but the amount of days they will stay in isolation upon returning to their respective countries
Would that be necessary? This isolation thing has not made sense to me from the start.

Test these guys, if they are positive, isolate them, if not let them be? What's the use of isolating healthy people?

Still, they are travelling to a region where the virus is as prominent sad where they are coming from.

If the virus has gotten to the stage where countries are opening up, when then these stringent measures?

Latest news is that all EPL, Ligue 1, Serie A, Bundesliga, and La Liga Naija players will be withheld by their clubs.

Iwobi, Chukwueze, Osimhen, Iheanacho, etc to miss out on Benin and Lesotho games.
This is just stupid. I can't find the rationale. How many Covid cases to we had in Africa as a whole that would mandate this restriction?

Honestly, his presence at the back gives Napoli that steel in defence. The foundation upon which they can nick some vital wins. I saw today's victory coming at Milan. I am glad because I want Osimhen and Napoli in the UCL next season.
Seriously! He pushes his team forward, picks his passes well and poses Ariel threat every now and then. When he leaves, Napoli would suffer.

Samuel Kalu is likely to miss the AfconQ games vs Benin and Lesotho if he doesn't recover in time from the injury he picked up early in his team's Ligue 1 win.

The standby list of players include: Paul Onuachu, Henry Onyekuru, Peter Olayinka, Michael Olise (Passport process), and Terem Moffi.

One of these guys will be called up to the main list as Kalu's replacement.

Note: Ofcos Akpeyi and Adeleke are also on the standby list too but as GKs, we know they won't be called up.
Don't bother yourself. Onuachu to the rescue. He never makes the team's list but something happens and then you'd see him to show up to the party. grin grin
