You are being incoherent. The talk was you saying Nacho has been in the squad due to a possibility of bribe. I am asking you if you would not have called Nacho and you are talking of spring season.

Use words carefully. The young man has worked hard and represented us well. The least we can do is respect him. He will still find his footing to help his career and the Super Eagles.

Finito.
No brother, d bribe aspect was a joke,u shld knw I was taunting someone here who hammers on bribe claims in d team

Y shld I say a certain player "bribes" his way into d team, dts an unguarded statement, even a certain homebase keeper we all wonder y he keeps getting callups, nobody here can say he bribes his way into d team cool

Like seriously, if you were the coach of Nigeria, you would not have called Nacho all these years. Let me know your answer.
I will na grin grin grin, options no dey den, only him and igghy but now dt we re having options springing out,if he doesn't buckle up,na sorry b him case o,just imaging ighalo not scoring those five goals against Libya, do u think rohr would still av invited him with dis little emergence of options?success and ko cool

Can you recall any dangerous free kick we for in the two matches against Libya? I don't know if the players do not fall there or the referees do not award the freekicks but we usually get at most one decent free kick opportunity in two games, that isn't enough to start a player because of his free kick ability. That is not to say that Nacho brings nothing other than that
This d exact point, aside dt our team is not even known for converting "deadball" situations, our strength dere is weak generally, if dt is d sole reason for his invite, den rohr don dey collect bribe grin grin grin in forgiveness voice, make I find trouble small grin

I am not downing the league. It's facts. It is not a highly rated league.

We have an embarassment of attacking options right now. Odey is definitely an option in the near future
I don't think we do,I can only c success and to some extent a rejuvenated ighalo as d only viable options we av,odas play from d wings and for osimhen,I can't really say much abt him

exactly. I didn’t even bother to reply his post again when I saw “conscience”. Person wey open mouth talk say freekick nor important jus Cos he nor wan rate nacho, you go know say he nor get conscience. People with “pull him Down syndrome” ain’t even doing well in real life but they derive joy in other people misfortune. See how that dude was busy smiling and rejoicing like a fat kid with chocolate when someone mentioned how bad nacho’s game has regressed. The dude couldnt hid his hatred. This set of people will even prefer us to lose against South Africa if nacho start just to say “ I told you”.

Hmmm great points you have made. However I think I would have to admit that Iheanacho has become a staple here for bashing. Somehow, some of us seem to enjoy bashing the boy at any opportunity including me too sometimes. Balogun is now commander in chief of Brighton bench, how many times have we bashed him, let us do softly softly abeg.
Left to me,if not for d fact dt ighalo scored 5goals against Libya,I won't invite both ighalo and nacho, but d former has saved his ass, with d goals he scored, dey can't keep wasting slot,d likes of odey,osimhen,onyekuru,success.. Dis guys shld be tried and let c what dey can do too

And for d midfield too,we can still manage what we av,since dere re no feasible options @d moment,we can't keep fantasizing on players whom re not even ready to play for us,if not d likes of ogu, agu, ugwu grin grin,no go near my team again

Oga the point is that Iheanacho is currently the best set piece taker in our team... Victor Moses was taking all the set pieces when he was around and it resulted in little or nothing most times.. We have Musa and Etebo who currently take it when they start but what has it resulted to?
Iheanacho hasn't taken that much set pieces but he has scored from one and hit d bar from another.. his last set piece lead to our second goal against Seychelles..
Give the lad some respect please

I don’t know why y’all taking that curtisaxel7 guy serious, he is a joke lol. Just because of his hatred for nacho, he is trying so hard to play down the important of set piece. All his post/comments are based on emotive prejudice. I just can’t fathom why someone would resort to badbelleism for a young player who is working hard everyday to turn out good and bring smile to the faces of all Nigerians. Curtis man you gotta have to check yourself Cos you’ve totally lost your mind. So you mean set piece ain’t crucial no more? Let me juggle your memory to a nation cup match between Nigeria and Cameroon...we were one goal down and the pressure was really on us . Like a flash we got a free kick closed to Cameroon 18yard box.. jay jay okocha picked up the damn ball, arranged his shoe wella, then curled a banana-like freekick above the wall which sailed right into the goddamn net. Maybe dem never born you then. All this year 2000 kids dem nor go stop to dey run their mouth like tap.
I think I need to come into his defence...Curtis Neva downplayed d importance of set-piece,but his point hammered more on aw often iheanacho scores/create assist from set piece

He buttressed his point by saying nacho scored last from a set piece was against Argentina last year,wc is almost a year now, considering d way u guys lay importance on aw good he's when it comes to set piece conversion, den I think d ratio is very poor when compared to d likes of J/J okocha, juninho, and co whom we knw is very good in scoring from free kicks during his days

As far as I am concerned, a goal from set piece in a year shld not be considered as d "best".awever he can be d "best" compared to our present S/E players who don't knw aw to convert one.I pray he scores anoda one against SA if fielded, cos by next year,I doubt anybody will still regard him as d best set piece taker, scoring just one in two years by next year cool

NB...Moses simon also scored from a nice set piece against Swaziland (worldcup qualify)... So nacho/simon b mate cool

For me, Iwobi deserves cementing a place in Arsenal's first 11 either as an AM or a Winger. My worry still remains his shyness in front of goal. If Iwobi can start scoring goals in addition to his assists, he should be rubbing shoulders with likes of Edin Hazard by now.

My advice is in the general and not unique to Curtis. It's not an attack on you. It's advice from pure intentions.

Your response to so many people on this forum that have different views from your own, has been very far from civil.

You use vitriolic rhetoric without restraint and without any justification, quite regularly. It's simply not good.

I really don't want to derail the thread.

But I still believe there is no need for anybody to use caustic abusive language.

Oga icon, you know that I have enormous respect for you, right? I have always seen you as one of the most knowledgeable and mature member of the forum. But why do you insist that I apologize when I haven't personally attacked anyone?

My entire post was just to warn us about making this a popularity contest because that might breed nepotism and all what not. Granted that I used the world "mediocrity" but that was not directed toward anyone in particular. It was just another way of saying that I would like us to select the BEST people. Again, I think you guys totally misunderstood the essence of my post.

Egbon! Kabiyesi o!! Here's my 10 cents worth.

I think you have a very good idea but we may probably need to tweak it a little bit to make it work effectively. In my humble opinion, the purpose of this committee would be defeated if the wrong people were "nominated". I haven't followed this thread or the nomination process closely but, like everything Nigerian, I am quite sure that merit is being sacrificed in place of mediocrity and nepotism. Yes, by the nomination process we can ensure that it is the power of numbers at work, but then that becomes the democratic formula for mediocrity.

Hence, to make sure that the excellent few are not sacrificed for the many mediocre my recommendation is that we select the following 6 members and charge them to get the job done. To me, this proposed committee is too important for us to reduce it to a popularity contest. Anyway, here's my 6 member committee:

1. Icon4s
2. Joebie
3. TBaba1234
4. Safarigirl
5. Supernerd
6. My humble self (Icon79)

Insults on this forum is really getting out of hand. We should learn to respect people's opinions without attacking their personality. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It is said that a forum where one used to read about upcoming talents and team news with so much intellectual input has now turned to a typical nairaland forum.

What is most painful is to see the regular people who made this forum interesting drag themselves to insulting one another. We have even reduced ourselves to choosing players in our national team and attacking others as if they are not playing for the same team. What happens with this is that we learn little from each other and eventually lose focus.

There was a reason why Sir Joseph started this thread, the SUPER EAGLES! and it's development into another era. Please let us respect one another.

Weda he picks one midfielder or 23midfielders,d end justify d means,as far as I am concerned, anything rohr feels will make him get d needed result,he should do it,after all if he had picked like 6 or 7 midfielders and fail to get a result,we would still attack him,so what's d point cool cool?,having 6/7 midfielders in a team doesn't guarantee a victory, it only gives d coach more options in d middle.and to rohr he feels he won't need dt much options in d middle, so let c aw it goes cool

Look at that midfield FFS!! Neutralize Iwobi and it's all over.

Rohr must be crazy if he wants us to believe we don't have midfielders to try out when Onazi and Mikel are out.
