NaijaVietnamese: I have seen lots of Nigerians stranded in Go Vap and district 2. They were deceived by agents about non existent factory jobs (such jobs are for the locals and some Nigerians that even managed to get them were later fished out). Their papers have all expired and they’re hopeless. You can’t even do such jobs with tourist visa and work permit is vetted before they grant it.
I’m always deeply disturbed whenever I see them because they’re wasting away their youthful age.
It’s after observing their situation that understood why some of them end up doing crimes despite knowing the severe penalties attached to it.
I hated agents for destroying their future with false promises. It’s the same situation in many Middle East countries like UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and other places where agents deceived some Nigerians that they would be gainfully employed on arrival, just so they could get their money.
Anyways, logical thinking people will always avoid such pitfalls while gullible ones end up as victims. You earlier said People can MAXIMIZE their 90 day visa to get jobs The same you said what I quoted. What are you about bro? What is this thread really about? NaijaVietnamese: No, I don’t think getting a Vietnamese visa is difficult. You can easily apply online for the 90-day E-visa. But you need to have a back up link.
Your priority is how to maximize that 90-day allowance so you could get a job and the accompanying work visa. Otherwise, you would have to do a visa run to the neighboring countries and return again. It can be costly and stressful as well. Lol 😂 oshey eyan Maximiliano Pellegrini. Please no one should try this nonsense this guy is saying. |

Career › Re: The Consequences Of Nigerian Civil Servants Retiring At Age 65 by emandman: 11:14am On Jul 03, 2023 |
Akinpedia: In Nigeria, civil servants traditionally retire at the age of 60. However, there has been a growing trend among civil servants to seek retirement at the age of 65 instead. While this may seem like a personal choice for individuals, it has significant negative effects on the Nigerian economy and the functioning of public institutions.
Let's explore the adverse consequences of civil servants seeking retirement at the age of 65 and the potential solutions to mitigate these challenges.
Decreased Efficiency and Productivity
One of the primary negative effects of civil servants seeking retirement at age 65 is the decline in efficiency and productivity within public institutions. As individuals approach retirement age, their motivation and energy levels tend to diminish.
This can result in reduced work output, increased absenteeism, and a lack of enthusiasm for carrying out responsibilities. Consequently, the overall efficiency and effectiveness of public services suffer, negatively impacting the Nigerian population.
Hindered Generational Shift and Skill Gap
By extending the retirement age to 65, the natural process of generational shift within the civil service is hindered. Younger, talented individuals who are eager to contribute their skills and fresh perspectives are held back by the prolonged presence of older civil servants.
This creates a skill gap, as experienced workers who could have mentored and trained the next generation are still occupying crucial positions. The delay in transitioning leadership roles to a younger workforce hampers innovation and stifles progress within public institutions.
Increased Financial Burden on the Government
Retirement benefits and pension payments place a considerable financial burden on the Nigerian government. By allowing civil servants to retire at age 65 instead of 60, the government has to bear the cost of providing additional years of retirement benefits.
This strains the already stretched public finance system, diverting resources that could have been invested in crucial sectors such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure development. It also contributes to the pension liabilities of the government, potentially leading to fiscal challenges in the long run.
Limited Opportunities for Unemployed Youth
Nigeria faces a high youth unemployment rate, with many graduates struggling to find suitable employment opportunities. Extending the retirement age for civil servants exacerbates this problem by reducing job openings within the civil service. Young graduates who aspire to work in the public sector are faced with limited opportunities due to the prolonged tenure of older civil servants. This imbalance creates frustration and disillusionment among the youth, potentially leading to social unrest and an overall decline in national productivity.
While it is understandable that civil servants may desire to extend their working years for personal reasons, the negative effects of seeking retirement at age 65 in Nigeria cannot be ignored. From decreased efficiency and productivity to hindering generational shifts, the consequences are far-reaching and detrimental to the Nigerian economy and public institutions.
It is essential for the government to carefully assess and address these challenges by implementing effective policies, such as encouraging early retirement incentives and creating opportunities for young talent to thrive. By striking a balance between the needs of retiring civil servants and the overall well-being of the nation, Nigeria can achieve a more sustainable and efficient civil service system. You're wrong about this, rather Extending retirement age makes government spend less on pension. |

Osunboy: Okay..I have been dating my babe for a year now. She is a registered midwife has her license and already practicing but nursing was actually her choice. She didn't get the nursing form, reason why she picked the midwifery form in a nursing school. So, I will be going for my Masters this September and I want her to go with me as a dependent even her dad also want this including her but where the problem is, is that she just got an admission to a polish university to study Nursing (3 years) and the agent running the Polish admission for her has guaranteed her visa. Now, she is confused whether to follow me down to UK as dependent or she should just go for her degree over there. Her dad said he is cool with whatever decision we make and ready to also contribute if she will be going with me.
My question is this, if she goes with me, what prospect does she have over there? Are there universities she can do conversion courses to Nursing over there? Are jobs for her there as a midwife (on the condition she passes the NMC council exam there) Or she should just focus on her Poland andwe hope our paths cross again....We have a decision to make quickly.
I have already told my parents I will be getting married before she now brought the issue of Poland and stuff..
Note: The dad told me he has given the agent money on somethings already but he can forgo that if I am really ready to marry her and go with her but yet to pay school fees. Likewise, she is has an active admission in Ukraine but didn't go there because of the war that broke out last year reason why the agent searched for this Poland for her. According to the agent, she has been booked for an appointment in the Polish embassy by August. Thank you. Why are you hoping part cross again?? Have you gained admission for the September? If not she shd school in UK instead. Marry her, let her do her nursing in UK. If that's not doable. Let her continue with the Poland dream. You Marry her . She can go to UK with you pending when Poland works and she can spend summer holiday in UK and get work to support you. You're considering her potential to you. I've helped you to address that, as a guy man no b love you dey reason.lol if not you wont say "if path cross again". |

Luchiano54: I would suggest she starts the process in Nigeria, pass the IELTS and CBT and join you as a dependent then look for a job in the UK. This is because it is now extremely difficult for Nigerian Nurses to get a job in the UK unlike before. I have quite a number of friends and colleagues who have passed their exams but still can't find a job till today.
Another suggestion is for her to join you as a dependent now, look for a Health and Care Visa with Sponsorship and work as a Health Care Assistant. When she gets one and starts working, both of you should save and let her commence the US process and prepare for the NCLEX. Nursing in the US is financially more rewarding than the UK and a lot of Nigeria UK based RNs are moving to the US.
She can also consider the New Zealand and or Australian pathway if you guys want to. Check for Deo Goodness on YouTube. She has a number of videos regarding this as she is presently going through the process.
The last option is for her to join you now in the UK and start the process there. But I've heard it's easier to pass IELTS back home than there.
All the best in whatever decision you guys make. Thanks |

Treadway: no be 'that poster', na Nosa111 be him name/moniker..lol..and he didn't even say 500k is small salary, he said 500k can't feed family of 4 in a month! so you can correctly guage the level of ment. I checked out his threads, even took some screenshots as he fit deny am, that nigga was still in Naija as recent as July, and prolly still is in Nigeria. Na their type go land JFK and pick up fake accent within two weeks. I can even still forgive Twoods, even tho the bros just likes to argue for argument sake touching like 20 topics at once instead of the focal topic of the argument (I guess he didn't know that I back up my words/points) but understandably he has been out of the country for a while, I reckon, so he may not be up to date on some things, but you see Nosa, that nigga is prolly still in Naija as we speak. Lol
Fact is, the topic of this thread will have two answers. Expecting everyone to sleep and face the same place is stupid. Some will feel it isn't worth it based on their present circumstances and all things considered, and some will feel it is worth it based on all this too. I can move abroad, but under very concrete circumstances that I am very clear on. So all the BDC calculations and dignity of labour rhetoric doesn't sway me at all. Of course, yes comparing Naija to first-world countries is absurd, however, don't automatically assume anyone that isn't worshipping the first-world country or agreeing to a certain point means the person is saying Nigeria is better. It is illogical GNS101.
For example Twoods came and dropped a statistic and I am better informed on that subject. You have left, I am here. I said this stat is wrong. If it had ended there, it would have ended there. But no, in arguments like this, the avg Abroadarian feels he/she knows more than you and everything they say is right. Which is bollocks! As a person, I choose my words very carefully and don't say things I can't back up, plus you don't get to where I am today without having something upstairs. I may not have lived in other countries, but I have visited them. Someone like Sukkot has lived in many. Once someone challenges your point of view, you just go into one kin mode wey no make sense, it gets worse when they now see facts and go even more berserk. It is infantile. We can have fact-based discussion and learn without hard feelings or unnecessary pride holding on to wrong viewpoints. Cheers!
PS: A short guide to the art of arguing on point! Imagine, you are on Who wants to be a millionaire and the 100million naira question is 'Which of these countries has the cheapest internet: A. Nigeria B. UK C. USA D. Canada
The simple answer is A. The answer doesn't care if your internet is high speed and is connected to 100 UHD TVs. The answer is simply A. That is how to argue on point. Let's hope at least one person here learns this today. Well said boss |
