EducationCookey Kingsley Graduates From Accra Institute Of Technology As The Best by emcaluv(op): 6:13pm On Aug 07, 2016
Nigerian student has scored an unprecedented grade to graduate from Ghana’s Accra Institute of Technology (AIT).

Cookey Kingsley from Opobo Nkoro local government area of Rivers State scored 4.1 out of 4.2 CGPA with grades of As and A+ from the university.

At the convocation ceremony, Cookey was the cynosure of all eyes where more than 20 Nigerian students graduated with First Class honours.
The Electrical/Electronic Engineering graduate attributed his unprecedented feat to hard work and perseverance.

He said the university also provided a convenient atmosphere that aided his study.

According to him: “It wasn’t an easy thing to do but I think that one of the key things that aided me was the study environment provided by my university.

“Graduating from AIT has aided me with all the necessary skills that I need to be a champion in the society after here, whether as an entrepreneur or an employee.”

The Accra Institute of Technology—AIT is modelled after two of the world’s most renowned institutes of technologies, the California Institute of Technology—CALTECH ranked number one in recent world university rankings and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology—MIT ranked number five.

It is a technology-focused university, campus-based and open university system with students cutting across different countries in Africa.

PoliticsRe: We’ll Soon Expose Jonathan’s Loots -buhari by emcaluv(m): 11:54am On Jun 30, 2015
Buhari again? When a government is confused, it will fall back on the old gimmick....shift the blame back to the previous regime. we don't need to know what the previous regime stole. APC already told us via sanusi during campaign how much was missing. By now, I expect many people to be in jail. Till date, apc is still telling us money is missing as if they didn't say so during campaign. Arrest these people now. Prosecute them and recover this loot. But wait.....Apc is setting up a political committe to probe money missing from NNPC. committe comprising of only APC governors. Not technocrat. Not forensic expert. Not even non partisan financial expert. What do I expect el rufai to say about jonathan? To exonerate him abi? The report of the committee is dead on arrival. The partisan nature of the committee members shows that buhari is not ready for a serious business. Just playing to the gallery to gain time. This CHANGE is a FRAUD
Having 1 million likes does not translate to a good post or a confirmation that you are exceptionally brilliant. Birds of the same feather flocks together. If you can tolerate GEJ for close to Six (6) years why can't you do the same to a man that just spent 2 months? This is the height of hypocrisy. Which committee are you talking about? Let me educate you a bit.

The four governors were selected by NEC members. The members were selected from both PDP and APC.

Nasir El-rufai (APC-Kaduna) graduated with first class honours in Quantity Surveying and also completed LL.B from University of London. He also obtain his Masters degree in Public Administration and management from Harvard University and John F. Kennedy school of Government.

Ibrahim Dankwambo (PDP-Gombe) is an Economist that built his career in Civil service. He was the Accountant General of the federation in 2005.

Udom Emmanuel (PDP-Akwa Ibom) is a technocrat with vast experience in banking and finance. He rose to the position of a Director in zenith Bank. He established most of Zenith Bank's international operations.

Adams Oshiomhole (APC-Edo) is a graduate of Economics and Industrial relations from UK. Osho Baba is known for his activism although his role in this committee can be questioned.
PoliticsRe: PDP Rally In Rivers State Today 28 January 2015 by emcaluv(m): 7:12pm On Jan 28, 2015
APC supporters had to wait till 11pm to receive GMB in some northern states. That's what you can call passion and love. It's really a pity that PDP rented supporters should spite Gej in this way. Really unbelievable. South South is his base and I don't expect such. Well, Wike is to be blamed because it's morally wrong for an Ikwerre man to take over from Amaechi. I wish them well come Feb 14 & 28
PoliticsRe: PDP Rally In Rivers State Today 28 January 2015 by emcaluv(m): 2:56pm On Jan 28, 2015
This is the state that gave GEJ over 96% votes in 2011. You should know that the PDP crowd today is not different from the crowd at APC rally in PH . PDP cannot get 60% votes in PH. My take though

@ceo4life, You are just a liar. It is really disturbing how people can lie at will. I watched the PDP rally on both AIT and NTA. Please stop posting fake rally pictures. It was so scanty that camera men refused to zoom to the crowd. Tell Abati your Oga to park well.

APC is really loosing it.

They made a great mistake by allowing defected Governors in their mist. How can you allow a man you termed a political enemy into your fold? I am not impressed about their strategy. The truth is that before 2015, they will loose majority of their strongholds. Bad strategy kills. I hate PDP but i don't see APC triumphing in 2015.
PoliticsRe: PDP Asks Court To Remove Defecting Governors by emcaluv(m): 12:33pm On Dec 13, 2013
This is one of the extracts from Supreme court Judgement:

There was therefore nothing new or original in what the court did in
Amaechi’s case.

In virtually all the individual judgments, the learned Justices held that
they could not order fresh elections because: (i) the court has no
constitutional competence to do so as it has no competence in
governorship election petitions (Section 285(2) of the Constitution)
and (ii) the issue before the court was a pre-election issue, i.e., who
was the legitimate candidate of the PDP in the Rivers State
gubernatorial elections?
PoliticsRe: PDP Asks Court To Remove Defecting Governors by emcaluv(m): 12:04pm On Dec 13, 2013
PDP has no case here. They are just being mischievous. Maybe they have paid the judge to cause confusion in the country. Amaechi's case against Omehia was a clear case of injustice by PDP. It is very different from defection. Amaechi won PDP primaries but was wrongly substituted by Omehia who did not contest in the primaries.

Please note that Amaechi and Ararume were expelled from PDP before the governorship election of 2007. Technically Amaechi was not a PDP member when the election was conducted. Supreme court acknowledged Amaechi as the winner of PDP primaries as such the authentic PDP governoship candidate. Supreme court felt that it will be wrong to deny Amaechi his rights and thereafter asked Omehia to vacate the seat.

If your logic is that when a person decamps to another party, he loses his seat, then one can say that a party can decide to expel an office holder and declare his seat vacant.

The Supreme court judgment was based on electoral law and the constitution which says that party flag bearers can only be nominated through primaries. If court declares the seats of decamped governors vacant, then INEC will be involved in conducting another governorship election which is against the electoral law. Omehia was removed because he did not participate in PDP primaries.

PDP vs Atiku is there for reference.
PoliticsRe: NNPC Diverted $49.8B Meant For The Nigerian Treasury Between 2012-13 - Sanusi by emcaluv(m): 11:56am On Dec 11, 2013
OLODO. So NNPC lifted Crude worth $65billion (which is even probably d SELLING PRICE), remitted only $15bn and 'diverted' $50bn, yet d Federal, States and LGAs have been funding their budgets -with their their SALIVAR, shey?? Like I said una no sabi lie at all..... By d way, at an Average of 2million bpd and at a cost of an Average of $105, Nigerian Oil wud SELL for about $77billion a year. This is d Selling Price. If d Cost of producing and shipping d Oil by d Oil companies is subtracted, d resulting Difference is d SHAREABLE PROFIT. This Profit is then shared bw d Govt and d Oil Companies at an Average ratio of 60:40, and d Govt's share goes to d Federation Account to be shared bw d Tiers of Govt. The Amount of money due to d Federation Account every year from Crude Oil Sales wud be bw $30-$40bn (or less) every year. You mean d NNPC 'diverted' (whateva that means) $50bn of this money in 1.5yrs and Nigeria is still existing and budgets of All d 812 Govts in Nigeria(where Oil money constitute bw 60-70% of d budgetary Revenue) are still be ran?? I mean, I wud reali love for you to make all of these sensible, for if na small...

I wonder where your sense of reasoning has gone to. If you cannot believe the governor of Central bank then there is a problem. You can swallow every rubbish Abati and Doyin could spill out but when intellectuals reveal things, you don't believe. The only time i will exonerate you of this folly is if Sanusi denies this publication.

For your information, Nigeria sells an average of 2.5 million barrels of crude oil daily. This translates to 75 million barrel in a month and 900 million barrels yearly. The letter only revealed a fraction which is just 1 million barrels daily (594,024,107 in 19 months from Jan'12 to Jul'13). It has also been revealed that NNPC collects 500,000 barrels of Crude daily for refining (Swiss fraud connection). Government is sponsoring this oil theft to steal Nigeria dry. The information from Sanusi was based on 1 million barrels of crude daily as against 2.5 million barrels which is the official OPEC allocation for the country. I would have ignored your post but we need to get the records straight.

PoliticsRe: Nine PDP Governors. Float New Party, Apply For Registration. by emcaluv(m): 11:17am On Aug 15, 2013
A house that is divided against itself cannot stand. PDP is in for trouble. If you Check 2011 election figures very well, you will notice that GEJ had 58.9% of votes while Buhari had 32%. ACN had only 5.4% because they voted for GEJ. GEJ was more popular in 2011 than he is today. The secret tribal war going on in South is not helping GEJ because his success in 2011 polls was partly as a result of massive Southern Nigerian votes.

The 9 PDP governors are floating their party because of the quest for bargaining power. They would have committed political suicide if they had joined APC. The Northerners cannot divide their votes. They will only sell a northern dummy to destabilize PDP and GEJ. Anybody that thinks GEJ will win 2015 election with divided PDP is a dreamer. Except God decides to give him the position which no mortal can contest.

SE and SS cannot make GEJ president come 2015. In the last election, SS and SE states that had up to 800,000 voters were just 7(Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Delta and Rivers states) out 22 states on that category. Just 30% of votes.

If we calculate the percentage of overall SS & SE votes in 2011, we will have 28%. Can that give GEJ victory in 2015?

What makes you think that the aggrieved Govs will not deliver their states electorate to whom they want? Have you forgotten rigging?

Let's pray that our brother GEJ will come back in 2015.

We are watching.

Foreign AffairsUS Ambassador To Libya Killed In Benghazi, Libya. by emcaluv(op): 12:45pm On Sep 12, 2012
(CNN) -- The United States ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens, was killed in a rocket attack on the U.S. Consulate in the city of Benghazi on Tuesday, President Obama said Wednesday.

"I strongly condemn the outrageous attack on our diplomatic facility in Benghazi, which took the lives of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens," Obama said in a statement.

"Chris was a courageous and exemplary representative of the United States," Obama said.

The other three victims were American security staff, said a contractor working at the mission, who asked not to be named for security reasons.

He said he saw all four bodies on the street Wednesday morning.

This is a pure case of negligence and corruption in Nigeria.

It is terrible. May their soul rest in perfect peace.

This same plane that crashed made an emergency landing 3 weeks ago. The pilot had to fly to Cotonue to discharge his fuel before the emergency landing.

A lady in that flight narrated her ordeal to my brother who treated her after she was rushed to his hospital. The Plane lost pressure mid-air and they had to drop the oxygen mask. The hydraulic system also failed but God being so kind the Plane landed safely.

My brother reported the issue to NCAA but Dana bribed her way thro and NCAA could not do anything.

Had it been NCAA grounded that plane, this tragedy today would have been averted.

PoliticsRe: Why Did Adekunle Make This Statement by emcaluv(m): 5:42pm On Nov 29, 2011
I wonder why all these noise. Ojukwu went into exile not because he was loosing the war but the dangers the citizenry was facing. Awolowo used food Blockade to win the war for Nigeria. Mind you hungry soldiers cannot fight.

I wonder why someone will choose to kill defenseless civilians. Libyan's rebels did not slaughter civilians in Libya. I wonder why we call ourselves one Nigeria. The foundations of this unholy alliance called Nigeria must collapse one day. It's really nauseating to see some posts here. Some people are actually celebrating the killing of igbos calling it an act of war. Maybe you will slaughter your father one day because he annoyed you and call it an act of war. This same killing and inpunity is still going on up till today (May 2011 election violence)

Ojukwu is dead and i don't think Igbos will keep silent again. I believe Ojukwu has been the brain behind non-retaliation of dis-enfranchised igbos in the North.

Yorubas and hausas executed their ethnic cleansing called Civil war. You can liken that to Somalia and Kosovo war.

Shame on you guys.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benjamin_Adekunle

Adekunle popularity during Nigeria civil war was due to the speed at which he defeated Biafran army in major battles and speed of advances. However, the advance became stalled and Biafran forces pushed back and recaptured Owerri, Ikot Ekpene, and other cities. Also, Biafran troops launched successful ambushes while Adekunle's 3MC gained little and suffered very high casualties. This was the state of 3MC before Adekunle was redeployed back to Lagos for a new commander, Colonel Olusegun Obasanjo who later used the troops to defeat Biafra.
PoliticsRe: Why Did Adekunle Make This Statement by emcaluv(m): 4:27pm On Nov 29, 2011
Some guys are just funny.
You should be weeping for Nigeria by now. The politicians are still stealing us dry. If Nigerian state can achieve 1/10th of what Biafra achieved in 30 months, then we would have been happy. Please let's stop this tribal sentiments and face realities.

I wonder which nation can survive super-powers influence.

See extract from Wikipedia,

Biafra, officially the Republic of Biafra, was a secessionist state in south-eastern Nigeria that existed from 30 May 1967 to 15 January 1970, taking its name from the Bight of Biafra (the Atlantic bay to its south).[2] The inhabitants were mostly the Igbo people who led the secession due to economic, ethnic, cultural and religious tensions among the various peoples of Nigeria. The creation of the new country was among the complex causes for the Nigerian Civil War, also known as the Nigerian-Biafran War.

Land of the Rising Sun was chosen for Biafra's national anthem, and the state was formally recognized by Gabon, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Tanzania and Zambia. Other nations which did not give official recognition but which did provide support and assistance to Biafra included Israel, France, Portugal, Rhodesia, South Africa and the Vatican City.[3] Biafra also received aid from non-state actors, including Joint Church Aid, Holy Ghost Fathers of Ireland, Caritas International, MarkPress and U.S. Catholic Relief Services.[3]

After two-and-a-half years of war, during which a million civilians had died in fighting and from famine, Biafran forces agreed to a ceasefire with the Nigerian Federal Military Government (FMG), and Biafra was reabsorbed into Nigeria.[4]

,
,

At the beginning of the war Biafra had 3,000 troops, but at the end of the war the troops totaled 30,000.[21] There was no official support for the Biafran army by another nation throughout the war, although arms were clandestinely acquired. Because of the lack of official support, the Biafrans manufactured many of their weapons locally. A number of Europeans served in the Biafran cause; German born Rolf Steiner was a Lt. Colonel assigned to the 4th Commando Brigade and Welshman Taffy Williams served as a Major until the very end of the conflict.[22]

The Biafrans managed to set up a small yet effective air force. The BAF commanders were Chude Sokey and later Godwin Ezeilo, who had trained with the Royal Canadian Air Force.[23] Early inventory included two B-25 Mitchells, one B-26 Invader (piloted by Polish pilot Jan Zumbach, known also as John Brown), a converted DC-3 and one Dove. In 1968 the Swedish pilot Carl Gustaf von Rosen suggested the MiniCOIN project to General Ojukwu. By the spring of 1969, Biafra had built five MFI-9Bs in Gabon, calling them "Biafra Babies". They were coloured green, were able to carry six 68 mm anti-armour rockets under each wing and had simple sights. The six airplanes were flown by three Swedish pilots and three Biafran pilots. In September 1969, Biafra acquired four ex-Armee de l'Air North American T-6Gs, which were flown successfully to Biafra the following month, with another aircraft lost on the ferry flight. These aircraft flew missions until January 1970, flown by Portuguese ex-military pilots.[23]
