North Central :
Kwara : How effective is the Otoge movement? Will Abubakar Bukola Saraki survive this war? These are some of the questions that crop up when Kwara state comes to play. While the APC must be commended for the Otoge movement, and from the result of the last bye election conducted in the state, I feel Saraki's influence in Kwara state has considerably whittled. But is it whittled enough for a Buhari victory in the state? I don't think so. I predict an Atiku victory with no more than 55percent of the votes.
Benue : A state of two tales. One is the farmers-herdsmen crises that has bedevilled the state. Another is the governor's non performance in virtually every aspect. In light of the above, I think this state will be a battleground with the winner not having more than a 5 percent winning margin.
Kogi : A case of another non performing governor. Yahaya Bello's performance is a shame. This is someone that got his position on a platter and should've done everything possible to show he deserves being governor. But this guy would rather spend his time galivanting to Abuja(Abeg no vex for my rant.... The guy really dey f up). Having said that, Yahaya Bello and the APC still control Kogi central. Kogi west is an entirely different ball game. Yahaya Bello's non performance in Lokoja(The state capital) and Dino's influence in Okun land gives the PDP an edge there. Now to the East... Prince Abubakar Audu's structure is still surviving despite his demise and with them still aligning with the APC and Buhari's popularity, I am predicting the APC having about(but no more than) 55 percent of votes in Kogi state
Plateau : This state has always been a tough nut for Buhari and his cause hasn't been helped by the Farmers-herdsmen crises in the state and neighboring states. I expect Buhari to get no more than 35-40% of votes in this state.
Nasarawa : Who'll Labaran Maku support between PDP and APC? While the frontrunner for governorship is Labaran Maku, the presidency is seeming to be harder in predicting. One way or the other, I don't see the APC securing less than 40 percent and more than 45 percent of votes in this state
Niger : Buhari to get 50-55 %
FCT: APC and Buhari to get 45 to 50%
You are wrong in Kwara. Buhari will win more than 60% except rigging

Corruption: The US Senate report that finally nailed Atiku Abubakar
Sunday, December 3, 2017 6:13 pm
Tweet Share to Facebook Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar
Former vice president Atiku Abubakar has for a long time been challenging Nigerians who accused him of being corrupt to come forward and prove it. So far nobody has come forward.
Well, has received a report on how Atiku was the subject of a probe ten years ago, by a United States Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, chaired by Senator Carl Levin.
The report detailed how Atiku Abubakar while still the vice president of Nigeria between 2000 and 2008, used offshore companies to siphon millions of dollars to his fourth wife in the United States, Jennifer Douglas.
Specifically, the report said Jennifer Douglas, an American citizen, helped her husband bring over $40 million in suspect funds into the United States through wire transfers sent by offshore corporations to U.S. bank accounts.
In 2004, the then President Bush barred Atiku and other corrupt politically exposed persons from being issued visa to the United States.
The US Senate probe was motivated by US government concern about corruption in the Third World and its corrosive effects on the development of honest government, democratic principles, and the rule of law.
“It is also blamed for distorting markets, deterring investment, deepening poverty, undermining international aid efforts, and fostering crime. Some have drawn connections between corruption, failed states, and terrorism. Corruption also continues to be a massive problem. The World Bank has estimated that $1 trillion in bribes alone exchange hands worldwide each year,” the committee noted in its bulky report.
Atiku was not the only foreign Politically Exposed Person(PEP) probed by the committee. He had company in Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue, now the 48-year-old son of Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mbasogo, the President of Equatorial Guinea (EG), late President of Gabon, Omar Bongo and three Angolan PEP accounts, involving an Angolan arms dealer, an Angolan government official, and a small Angolan private bank.
The committee submitted its report on 4 February 2010, three years after Atiku left office.
The report unveiled violations of US laws by Atiku and his fourth wife, Jennifer Douglas. It also included revelations about Siemens bribe paid into one of the accounts, and it possibly provided the basis for Atiku being barred from entering the United States, since then.
This Report examines how politically powerful foreign officials, their relatives, and close associates – referred to in international agreements as Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) – have used the services of U.S. professionals and financial institutions to bring large amounts of suspect funds into the United States to advance their interests. Using four case histories, this Report shows how some PEPs have used U.S. lawyers, real estate and escrow agents, lobbyists, bankers, and even university officials, to circumvent U.S. anti-money laundering and anti- corruption safeguards. This Report also offers recommendations to stop the abuses.
Here is a summary of the report:
Atiku Case History.
From 2000 to 2008, Jennifer Douglas, a U.S. citizen and the fourth wife of Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President and former candidate for President of Nigeria, helped her husband bring over $40 million in suspect funds into the United States through wire transfers sent by offshore corporations to U.S. bank accounts.
In a 2008 civil complaint, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission alleged that Ms. Douglas received over $2 million in bribe payments in 2001 and 2002, from Siemens AG, a major German corporation.
While Ms. Douglas denies wrongdoing, Siemens has already pleaded guilty to U.S. criminal charges and settled civil charges related to bribery and told the Subcommittee that it sent the payments to one of her U.S. accounts.
In 2007, Mr. Atiku was the subject of corruption allegations in Nigeria related to the Petroleum Technology Development Fund.
Of the $40 million in suspect funds, $25 million was wire transferred by offshore corporations into more than 30 U.S. bank accounts opened by Ms. Douglas, primarily by Guernsey Trust Company Nigeria Ltd., LetsGo Ltd. Inc., and Sima Holding Ltd.
The U.S. banks maintaining those accounts were, at times, unaware of her PEP status, and they allowed multiple, large offshore wire transfers into her accounts. As each bank began to question the offshore wire transfers, Ms. Douglas indicated that all of the funds came from her husband and professed little familiarity with the offshore corporations actually sending her money.
When one bank closed her account due to the offshore wire transfers, her lawyer helped convince other banks to provide a new account. In addition, two of the offshore corporations wire transferred about $14 million over five years to American University in Washington, D.C., to pay for consulting services related to the development of a Nigerian university founded by Mr. Atiku Abubakar.
American University accepted the wire transfers without asking about the identity of the offshore corporations or the source of their funds, because under current law, the University had no legal obligation to inquire.
Executive Summary
Combating corruption is a key U.S. value and goal, due to its corrosive effects on the rule of law, economic development, and democratic principles. In 2001, the Patriot Act made the acceptance of foreign corruption proceeds a U.S. money laundering offense for the first time, and required banks to apply enhanced scrutiny to private banking accounts opened for senior foreign political figures, their relatives, and close associates. In 2003, the United States supported the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, now ratified by over 140 countries. Also in 2003, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) formed an investigative group dedicated to combating foreign corruption by PEPs. In 2004, President Bush issued Presidential Proclamation 7750 denying U.S. visas to foreign officials involved with corruption, and Congress later enacted supporting legislation. A 2009 study sponsored by the World Bank analyzed PEP controls worldwide and recommended stronger measures to reduce corruption.
The Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (Subcommittee) initiated this investigation to learn how U.S. laws apply to PEPs utilizing the domestic financial system, and examine how foreign senior political figures, their relatives, and close associates may be circumventing or undermining anti-money laundering (AML) and PEP controls to bring funds that may be the product of foreign corruption into the United States. It is the latest in a series of Subcommittee hearings examining foreign corruption and its U.S. aiders and abettors.
During the course of its investigation, the Subcommittee staff conducted over 100 interviews, including interviews of lawyers, real estate agents, escrow agents, lobbyists, bankers, university professionals, and government officials. The Subcommittee issued over 50 subpoenas and reviewed millions of pages of documents, including bank records, correspondence, contracts, emails, property records, flight records, news articles, and court pleadings. In addition, the Subcommittee consulted with foreign officials, international organizations, financial regulators, and experts in anti-money laundering and anti-corruption efforts.

That NEPA improved today is because jonathan unbundled it and allowed private companies to come in.

Telecoms grew because Kawasaki allowed MTN GLO etc to come in.

Privatization is not all about the staff of the company. When the floor is opened, there will be many more NNPCs owned by individuals, creating more jobs.

If it was the likes of buhari that has been in power, by now we will only have Nitel controlled by the cabal.

Atiku was VP, he has companies and people employed. Obasanjo was president he has ota farm and many other companies including his partnership with dangote on cement.

Buhari was was president of this country, what business has he done to employ Nigerians since then?
I believe in privatization only when it is done under sincere and trustworthy environment. The caliber of people calling themselves APC/ PDP are not worthy to champion any privatization Process. Sure. As a staff I can invest in shares in NNPC, and know that I own part of the company I am working in. I will ensure efficiency and transparency. I will run it as.my own.

Most of you don't understand what privatization means. You feel an individual will own NNPC, but that's not the case. It will be In the stock market and you and I can invest and be part of the decision making.

Not the one tinubu and his team will bring a company and buhari will sign contract with the company worth billions to provide helicopter services for both the company and buhari campaign.
We know what ideal privatization means and we know what "Nigeria privatization" means. You will invest if you are luck to remain in the workforce after series of night vigil, fasting and prayers. Ask Delta steel workers what they went through after the privatization. Some Nepa staff are still looking forward to their balance up til date.

PoliticsOpinion- Silent Factors That May Affect Tomorrow Election Greatly by Emedu(op): 10:36am On Feb 15, 2019
Northern Greediness
Though you will never hear this in any campaign . The north may decided to vote for Atiku to extend their stay in power. Since Atiku will decided to go for second term if voted in given the north opportunity to stay in power for 12years instead of 8 years. Therefore, there is high possibility of Atiku getting shocking result from the north.

Osibanjo/Obi

Another silent point that may affect the election is Osibanjo/Obi factor. there is online write up recently spread across the social media advocating Yorubas voters not care about the last performance of Buhari government but rather to vote to avoid been marginalised. If this gospel continue it may affect PDP performance in southwest tomorrow.

Fear of Efcc and federal might in Governorship election

Another silent point that may shock the opposition party is South/ South factor. My recent interactions with the South South voters is that they always love to align with federal. There is a rumour ongoing in Delta state that Okowa the siting governor of Delta state might secretly work for APC to avoid unnecessary obstacles and federal might involvement in Governorship election.Specifically Delta and Akwa Ibom, which has always been the stronghold of PDP may shock everyone this time around.

My opinion. gives yours!

PoliticsWhy Buhari Will Win by Emedu(op): 10:33am On Feb 14, 2019
LEADERSHIP - Nigeria ’ s general elections are here again and the entire country appears to be on tenterhooks regarding the polls outcome as well as the possible reaction of the winners and the losers . Although there are over 70 presidential candidates , the contest is basically between President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress ( APC ) and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) .
I have read and re-read a number of permutations predicting who will win the 16 th February , 2019 presidential election . A couple of national newspapers have made projections on who will win and where . The Economist, a United Kingdom magazine , is of the firm belief that Atiku will win the election . The Economist assumes that “ with the vote likely to be split in the North, Abubakar will find it easier to garner support from the country ’ s South , which has traditionally been a safe haven for the PDP .”
To my mind, this presidential contest, more than any other in our brief democratic experiment, is the sharpest and most contrastable in terms of the APC and PDP manifestoes, background and records of service of the aspirants as well as their visions for the country .
Although both Buhari and Atiku are no strangers to Nigerian politics, it is important to highlight the incompatible track records of the presidential aspirants of APC and the PDP . Buhari had joined the Nigerian army and fought in the civil war, he served as a military governor of North East State , comprising the current North East geo- political, as petroleum minister, Head of state as well as chairman of the former Petroleum Trust Fund ( PTF) .
In contrast , Atiku Abubakar ’ s most notable public service was as a former Customs officer from where he reportedly leapt into wealth and bought Intels , a logistics company . For millions of Northerners, the Atiku phenomenon is both unusual and questionable. Many of them are not impressed by this simple and easy path to wealth . Whereas Buhari has a very long history of selfless service spanning more than half a century, his opponent ’ s record is not so distinguished .
Back in 1992 , Atiku had participated in leadership contest on the platform of the defunct Social Democratic Party and in 1999 was elected governor of Adamawa state. Thereafter, he served as Vice President of Nigeria under the leadership of President Olusegun Obasanjo . In 2007, Atiku had also contested for the presidency on the platform of Action Congress ( AC ) .
On the other hand , President Muhammadu Buhari has always had a solid political base, dating back to 2003 when he joined partisan politics and contested for the presidency on the platform of All Peoples Party. Recall also that ahead of the 2011 election , Buhari had quit the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party ( ANPP) and formed his own political party called the Congress for Progressive Change ( CPC ) . Although Buhari lost that election in questionable circumstances , he was able to establish a firm grip on 12 million voters , mostly from the North. This in itself presents a contrast , because unlike Atiku Abubakar , Buhari had had the nerve to form a party and command the loyalty of millions of the Northern Talakawa and indeed Nigerians . This is what is usually referred to as Buhari ’ s vote bank.
Coupled with this are the world views and visions of the two. Buhari refused the many opportunities his career afforded him to be rich . He has remained not only austere but an epitome of probity. Most people who know Buhari , at home and abroad, agree that he is a man of integrity .
Accordingly, the projection by The Economist that Atiku will split the vote in the North and out rightly win in the South is mistaken . The vote in the North will not be split and the country ’ s South is not safe for PDP. Neither the North nor the South of this country is monolithic, politically or otherwise. There is nothing to show that the South or anywhere in Nigeria is safe for PDP . In the nearly four years since Buhari has been the President, people in Southern Nigeria , particularly the South West, have repeatedly thumbed down the record of PDP.
To be sure , there is “ frustration over the rise in joblessness and poverty ” as The Economist posited , but the masses in the North don ’ t believe that Atiku Abubakar is capable of doing anything about it . The Talakawa of the North West in particular do not connect with Atiku , they see him as a very rich person that mocks them. The story had been told of how Atiku said that God does not answer the prayers of poor people. Other than make new promises, Atiku has nothing to show the people of this part of the country for all the eight years he served as Vice President and so they can’ t split their votes because of him .
The economy has since come out of recession ; the foreign reserves are up and have remained above $40 billion since last year. The inflation rate is stable , as are the prices of food ; the country has shown improvement in the ease of doing business and balance of trade is increasingly in our favour .
Atiku, however , craves foreign investment as about the only path to develop the economy. Atiku’ s economic philosophy comes with a number of red flags. For example , he said he would risk his life to sell off 90 % of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation ( NNPC ) . For many Buhari supporters, this is bizarre. When Atiku says he will privatise 90 % of NNPC , the strong belief is that he is not addressing Nigerians but foreign interests. What is the total value of NNPC ? How much is 90 % of it ? How much is Atiku going to sell this huge percentage and to whom? Nobody is asking these questions. Yet Atiku must be interrogated on these matters because we were there before. We cannot forget that
President Muhammadu Buhari hold the trophy for the fiercest and most result- oriented anti-corruption campaign in Nigeria . No matter how imperfect this anti -corruption fight is, President Buhari has remained the only Nigerian leader alive to have tackled hitherto untouchable persons by not only prosecuting them but also disgorging their loot. He did this in army uniform in 1984 and is doing it now. The recovery of humongous amount of N 800 billion , hundreds of belongings and convictions achieved in the current fight against corruption is impressive .
Unlike the Obasanjo / Atiku administration , the Buhari government is undertaking the most ambitious infrastructural development since the administration of General Yakubu Gowon. The number of bridges , roads, railways and power projects being actualised by this government is unprecedented . The Buhari government has just inaugurated a modern train service that runs from Lagos to Abeokuta, the hometown of country ’ s most duplicitous former president.
Additionally, Buhari himself has gained the support of many big politicians elsewhere in the South South . For example, in Akwa Ibom state, the President enjoys the support of Senator Godswill Akpabio, former Governor Victor Attah , former Minister of Petroleum, Don Etiebet, Nsima Ekere, Akpandoedehe and so on. The governor of Cross River state is also his friend . Edo state is firmly in the grip of APC and the citizens have a favourable opinion of Governor Obaseki .
In the South East itself , the governors are not so enamoured with the Atiku /Obi ticket. Imo state is in the hands of APC . Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state, the home state of Obi, the running mate of Atiku, has a cold approach to the PDP presidential ticket. Besides the efforts of another party stalwart , the humble Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu , who was a former governor himself; Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi is Buhari ’ s friend and although they are in different political parties , there is no doubt he will push to ensure that the APC gets a sizable share of the vote in the state. In fact, there is no South East governor that is at loggerheads with President Buhari . All the governors express varying levels of support for the President, no matter how muted. In Enugu state, he is supported by Senators Ken Nnamani, Ayogu Eze, etc . It is safe to say that President Buhari has penetrated these states in the “PDP stronghold.” Actually , the only governors in the South that are hostile to President Buhari are Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa and Nyesom Wike of Rivers states. Both are PDP governors and they are the most partisan .
Buhari has his imperfections as a leader, but it is unthinkable to believe that Nigerians will vote for a manifestly corrupt party like PDP and its morally damaged presidential candidate , Atiku Abubakar .
The congregation of ethnic champions, Obasanjo repertoire and other anti -Buhari forces deviously ranged against him appear to be incapable of having this election their way. Short of a monumental revelation that may shatter his integrity , Muhammadu Buhari of the APC is, God willing , firmly on the road to victory this 16 th February .

PoliticsReasons Every Civil Servants To Vote Buhari Saturday. by Emedu(op): 8:51am On Feb 14, 2019
Politics is a game of interest
Buhari gesture to federal Government and state government workers has been wonderful. No single sack and many backlog of arrears were cleared. Oronsaiye report is another anti civil servants policy which I believe Atiku will look into if voted in.
Another reason why civil servants to vote Buhari is because Atiku /Obi has been complaining of high recurrent expenditure vs capital expenditure but they have not tell us how the capital expenditure will be boosted without affecting the recurrent. I have strong feelings that Atiku government will in the name of privatization downsize the civil service to save more money for the high inflated priced capital expenditure. Since buck of the recurrent expenditure is from Executive, and legislators allowance and I don't see Atiku touching them instead civil servants will be victims. Salary cut down will be inevitable under Atiku government.

Atiku privatization campaign is another concern. He even boosted in one his interviews in channel Tv that he will enrich his friends. He said he will completely privatize NNPC and other sectors. My concern is that 1. Atiku is one of the Largest shareholders of Haliburton which is into oil.
2 Atiku low Moral and integrity level
3 Atiku keen interest in business.
4 His past record in privatization of Nitel and others
I perceived that if Atiku is given the privilege he will privatize every viable and good thing this country has to himself and friends. And there will be job lost, available of high blood pressure jobs like banking jobs.

Delta steel company is a case study.
