This is the way to go, that way, no one will have excuse of not collecting his/her PVC.

INEC should replicate this step in other states, at least the last two days (saturday and sunday) distribution must be at all polling units

PoliticsRe: Govt. May Shift Polls By Six Weeks - Dailytimes by emiye(m):
All the reasons canvassed for a need to shift the election are fraudulent.

On PVC collection rate, this is not the first time that PVCs will be used in conducting elections, Osun and Ekiti state governorship elections were conducted with PVCs, and the collection rate was at 65-70% in both states yet elections were conducted, as at the last assessment, INEC has distributed close to 65% of PVCs nationwide, and all the total 68 million PVCs are now in the country, and collection of PVCs is ongoing till the next 6 days. Distribution of PVCs is at very least a two way responsibility, the owner must come forward to collect it, if any one stays in his/her bedroom and claim not to have collected PVC, it is not INECs fault, i have heard many people asking INEC to promise 95% collection of PVC, and i wonder when INEC now carries the burden of responsibility to despatch PVCs in to peoples homes.

On the tensed polity, it will get worse as the day progresses, shifting the election will make matters worse

Remarkable:
The video was shot in Febuary 2014, exactly 1 year ago... you should have embellished your lie a bit more by saying something like... they already knew ahead of time that Buhari and his VP candidate were going to win primary and be appointed respectively in November 2014, so Pa Adeboye endorsed him, the vice ahead of time...9 months earlier...

You too much o... more like you too desperate actually. Lie lie boy.
See the video one more time, it was a prophesy ahead of time, david was annointed in the reign and presence of saul, he did not take over immediately

biafranqueen:
What are you talking about? I thought you people want change? Confused group of believers.
I suspect you are the confused fellow, the last time Nigeria conducted rebasing exercise was over 20 yrs ago, so if another one is done in 2013 and showing that the economy now has 510 billion usd, it is a cumulative effect of the new sectors that emerged after the early 90s that the last rebasing was done The new rebasing of GDP took in to account , telecoms, nollywood, e,t,c It is the goal scorer that matters, not the score keeper. GEJ became president in 2010, and can not take glory of what he had virtually zero input in.

BTW, i care little about GDP but HDI (Human Development Index)
PoliticsRe: Soludo’s Misinformation (1) by emiye(m): 7:13pm On Feb 02, 2015
Rebasing of the Economy: Prof Soludo made a caricature about the efforts to rebase Nigeria’s economy and said in his article it amounted to nothing. He made bold to say that on all the indices used by international reviewers Nigeria’s economy is showing poor results, he went as far as to score the Administration an “F” on the economy. On this I cannot be more ashamed of Soludo, than to say this. Prof Soludo lied to the Nigerian people. Hear him; “First, my friend was educated that re-basing the GDP is no achievement: it is a routine statistical exercise, and depending on the base year that you choose, you get a different GDP figure. Re-basing the GDP has nothing to do with government policy”. First of all he is full of contradictions, he says we have failed to make progress on any of the economic indices, then he says in the same thesis that our over $510 billion GDP economy is not progress, (he used $540 billion in his article). He even went as far as to say that the rebased figures of the economy is NOT as a result of any Federal Government Policy in the statement above. Again he is dead wrong. The figures that gave the Nigerian economy a boost after the rebasing came from the fact that new industries have been created and have grown in Nigeria since the Administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The GEJ administration should be ashamed celebrating an output of a rebasing that was last done over 20 years ago, in the early 90s, during the military era.

PoliticsRe: Polls: TAN Takes Battle To UN by emiye(m): 6:05pm On Feb 02, 2015
Collection of PVCs is a two way responsibility, at the moment INEC has delivered all the 68 million PVCs to the states, so those who need them can go and collect it till sunday. INEC will not go to an individuals bedroom to deliver PVC to such an individual, each individual must take a step.
PoliticsRe: My Advert Not A Death Wish For Buhari, Fayose Tells American Diplomats by emiye(m): 5:20pm On Feb 02, 2015
dealslip:
The first step to transformation or change is repentance by all Nigerians as a nation. Our salvation is not in any of the candidates but in ourselves. Neither Jonathan nor Buhari will bring transformation or change.
We as a people are very corrupt and it reflects on the leaders we chose. Don't waste your energy on any politicians because they can not change for you what you should change in your life.

Corruption occurs when:
- You bribe or sleep with lecturers for marks or promotion.
-You give bribe to Police and Traffic Officers.
-You as a staff in public or private organisation covet properties of the government to yours.
-You help to lynch suspected criminals to death.
-You throw refuse on the floor causing blockages in the drainage.
-You vandalise oil pipeline and call it national cake.
-You help politicians inflate invoice or launder money as a contractor or bankers.
-You jump queues at filling station, ATM gallery, banks etc
- You bear false witness against your neighbour
-You pay invigilators for expo at exam centres
-You owe workers deliberately and refuse to pay them.
- You forge certificates and visas.
- You bypass NEPA installations for cheaper bills.
- You as civil servants help politicians to change facts and figures in the name of political appointments.

Is this what we expect them to save us from. To save us from ourselves. I know they are corrupt but they are actually a chip of the old block. They are a reflections of us as Nigerians. They cannot save us from ourselves. The vices we commit are too numerous to be listed. The accumulation of this wrong doings is what we call corruption today. If we as individuals don't change, no general or PHD holder can cause any change. We need to lead our self first before we give the permission to lead us. Don't settle for tissue papers and NEPA bills or no shoes emotion. Settle for respect and your prosperity. At that point we won't need be led. Most of what we want the presidents to do for us are things we should do ourselves.
i like your epistle, they speak to the conscience of an average nigerian, but trust me, it brings little or no change in a country like Nigeria. When things get so bad to the situation Nigeria has found itself, the approach above make little or no impact, the trusted way out is a sincere and committed leadership that will show responsibility and fight corruption aggressively by ensuring there is consequence for corruption, in the process of fighting corruption, it will then strive to appeal to peoples conscience like you have tried doing above.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Will Win Presidential Poll By A Landslide – Dele Momodu by emiye(m): 1:14pm On Feb 02, 2015
midolian:
I disagree with you on these percentages..

It is noted that a total of 54,341,610 million PVCs were received in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), leaving an outstanding 15,567,219 PVCs to be collected.

In the breakdown of the PVC collection analysis obtained from INEC, northern states had the highest percentage of collection, while southern states and Abuja took the rear

While the North-West states of Jigawa, Katsina, Kano and Sokoto had collection percentage of over 80 per cent, South-West states of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo had collection percentage of slightly over 50 per cent.

Jigawa topped the highest collection statistics with 94.12 per cent rate. Of the 1,551,831 million PVCs received in the state, 1,460,620 million had been collected, leaving a paltry 91,211.

It was closely followed by Sokoto and Kano, with 86.67 per cent and 86.63 per cent respectively. Of the 1,398,010 million PVCs in Sokoto, 1,211,717 had been collected, leaving an outstanding of 186,293, while Kano recorded 2,771,185 million collection out of 3,198,859, leaving 427,674 as outstanding.

Lagos, with highest number of available PVCs in the country, having 4,000,000 voters, recorded a collection of 53.98 per cent, leading to 2,159,091 million collected and 1,840,909 yet to be collected. You can confirm

http://www.tribune.com.ng/news/top-stories/item/26263-n-west-states-bauchi-akwa-ibom-abia-lead-in-pvc-collection-fct-lagos-imo-anambra-ogun-oyo-take-rear/26263-n-west-states-bauchi-akwa-ibom-abia-lead-in-pvc-collection-fct-lagos-imo-anambra-ogun-oyo-take-rear
No !, 54 million+ was the total PVCs available for distribution, and 14 million + were oustanding PVC's yet to collected by INEC from their suppliers as at then. The percentages for states were based on the total PVCs available for those states. For example using your stats above, only 4 million of about 6 million PVC for Lagos was released, but 2.1 million was distributed , that accounted for 53% i.e 2.16/4 * 100 = 53%.

PoliticsRe: Buhari Will Win Presidential Poll By A Landslide – Dele Momodu by emiye(m): 8:13am On Feb 02, 2015
I dont expect a landslide , when one factors there would be rigging mostly in PDP states, the collection rate of PVCs as at last count in some APC States are also not encouraging 36% in Lagos, 38% in Ogun , 37% in Imo, 48% in Oyo, 52% in Kano, all these states fall short of National average collection rate of 63%. I hope to witness an appreciable leap in PVC collection in those states, expecially lagos, Oyo and Kano, a man with no PVC can not be mobilized on election day.

GMB will win anyways though.

Go to the LG office in the area you registered, if your PVC is not with them, maybe they will direct you to the ward associated with your polling unit area.

Jonathan's diversionary and deceptive national conference is going back to the house, and not a peoples referrendum, that is if it is not bungled and thrown in to the bin.

Buhari is not busy talking about GEj not remembering his phone number, or how much a thief stole?, or how he is afraid of going to jail, or all other mumbo jumbo. Buhari is brief and talks about his agenda, he understand s his strength, No 1. is tackle corruption aggresively, a generic cancer affecting all sectors .

BTW, i doubt the record, because Buhari is yet to visit yobe and Borno state, but it was recorded for him.

All over the world? Never heard o!
Sorry about your ignorance of global standards, i guess the problem you had can be traced by the fact that there was only a single national party in the political system before the advent of APC ,all others were more or less regional parties and could be regarded as feather weight opposition. Get use to a national opposition. It is always to the benefit of the people.

Imagine if MTN was the only telecoms company covering all Nigerian states, and the others were only in some few states.
