Even as at the time of the Apostles false prophets were already multiplying. Jesus Christ warned against them. Peter, Paul, John all warned about the wolves in sheep's clothing that were going to emerge to make merchandise out of the people that Christ died to save from their sins. Feeding fat on the gullible by using God's name, and why not, when people are too lazy to read the word and ask the Holy Spirit for understanding? There's only one gospel, and it is for salvation.

Jesus asked us to judge righteous judgement in John 7:24 i.e. we cannot judge motives, but we can judge the word by the Bible, otherwise how can you discern the truth from false doctrine? Throw away the Bible and follow men blindly?

And then Jesus turned water into an old wine (which always tastes better) not just any kind of wine sef. Stay dey mumu yourself. Nothing wrong with wine. Just drink responsibly (Do everything in moderation. Let your moderation be known to all men).

God bless you. Talk about twisting the Bible. There's distinction between wine and strong drink in the Bible - go and read yours. Jesus could NEVER have given people strong drink (alcoholic intoxicants) or drank either.

To interpret scriptures, always look at the context, don't read any verse in isolation.
The context here for instance is about not indulging in anything which though you know is not sinful or harmful because of your spiritual enlightenment, might negatively affect the faith of your less spiritually matured neighbors if they see you doing it - e. g. eating meat which has been offered to idols.

I don't think so - "Woe unto him that giveth his neighbour drink, that puttest thy bottle to him, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest look on their unclothedness!"

True, but he publicly renounced the prosperity Gospel claiming to repent of it only to go back - that had nothing to do with enemies. It's all in the public domain, check it and see for yourself.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is about the salvation of mankind from the death that is the consequence of sin. Those hustlers don't preach the Gospel. They take advantage of the fears of gullible travellers to obtain money from them. Imagine some of them going as far as to ask for tithes as if they were in church! The Gospel is free!

It does exist my brother. "Independent" because churches in the Bible were local assemblies - no headquarters collecting percentages of offerings worldwide with which to buy private jets. Have a blessed week too!

I need an advice
My parents died many years ago at my tender age, leaving my sister and I.

Few years later, my sister got married, then I was in Jss2. After few months of her Marriage, she asked me to come over and stay with her. I was very happy and I moved in with her and her husband.

The man was really doing well in his business, he had his own house and a nice car. Things were moving well. He was taking care of me and was also training me in school. They had 3 children when I was with them, but currently they have 4 kids.

One day I had a misunderstanding with my sister. I came back from school and eat the food I saw on the table I didn’t know it was for her children. I tried to apologise but she was just called me names.

To cut the whole thing short, her husband came back from shop and sent me packing and my sister supported him. By then I was about writing my SSCE. I pleaded but they were mean.

I slept in the church throughout that night. My pastor tried to talk with them the following day, but they refused taking me back. My pastor took me in and took care of me, paid for my waec and other things. I was with my pastor and his family until I finished my SSCE EXAM and I left to God knows where my sister never asked about me.

After many years of hell, without anyone by my side. God established me. Am married with children, I have my own house and my business is going well.

Two years ago, my sister’s husband died, due to her extravagant life, she couldn’t maintain his business. The money has finished. To make the matter worst, COVID 19 came, now they bearly feed. They are really begging for food. The children are no longer in school. Things are really hard for her and her children.

Now she has remembered she has one abandoned brother somewhere and she’s asking for forgiveness. Pastor Sam, I want to really forgive her, but believe me, the more I try, the more I remember the hell I went through, how I slept for days without food, how many times I was rejected, how I slept in an uncompleted building. It’s too hard to let go.

What should I do.?

Forgive. You'll be a greater person for it.

Because it depends on which Gospel they are preaching. There is the Gospel of salvation in 1 Corinthians 15:1 - 4 and there is also the gospel of the stomach!
