Just wear the Buba, Sokoto and cap without the Agbada (i.e. the outer covering garment) and that will be sufficient, else you could appear to be overdressed.

Another masterpiece from the Chinese.

But come to think of it, is it still tenable at this stage to say all humans and all races emanate from one man?

What is wrong with Africa?
Thievery and lack of integrity. The day we stop worshiping money and those that get it through dubious means, that day we start to progress!

The amount of money in China is something else, they practically have their own market and can become very rich just by trading in China, 1.4B people is no joke.

And they're not afraid to spend this money.

Nigeria and India also have their markets inside the country but unlike America and China most of the population is poor and doesn't have the same purchasing power.
Because the nation's resources are daily being stolen.

LegendHero:
The Supreme Court stated in the letter that:

He is at liberty to come to this honorable court with his Call to bar and qualifying certificates for enrollment.

Could it be the lawyers have to enroll to be included in the Rolls of Legal Practitioner record?
Yes. After passing the bar exams and the call to the Bar you have to go and get enrolled at the Supreme Court.
PoliticsRe: No Record Of Obasa As A Lawyer In Our Registry - Supreme Court by Emmanuelcann: 4:15pm On Jul 27, 2020

Are they talking about being a lawyer or a barrister?

People mistake this two things, however I read where they said he went to law school, he might have, but didn’t pass, so you can’t see his name on register but that doesn’t stop him from answering a law graduate.

On his biography as pasted here, he never claimed to have graduated from Law School, he ended it at his University degree. If that’s what he has been using to work he has no problem.

Is just like an Engineering graduate who is not registered with COREN you have Engineering degree but you are not a registered Engineer but not human can stop you from saying you graduated as an Engineer from university.

I know same is applicable to pharmacy and Accountancy
Being smart by half! What's stated as his résumé is enough to give the impression that he is a Barrister at law! There's a fraudulent intent involved!

Lmao grin I couldn't stop laughing honestly.
Well I'm not even for this IPOB style of secession. Left for me they'd never succeed. If another Biafra will come, it won't be under this particular IPOB where insulting the global power who are the sole persons in charge for pressing for a plebiscite, is the order of the day. Definitely the wrong approach to go about it. I hope they make an overture, or this Biafra won't come under them.
Regards, brother.
I knew for sure that you're enlightened. Debate should be courteous with respect to individuals rights and freedoms to show that we're civilized, not bitter, rancourous and insultive. We all want to live peacefully with our neighbors in pursuit of happiness but politicians the world over will never allow it. How else would they prey on us? People are the same everywhere, created by one God.

There will be no bias against Osus. It's a free world. Everybody who was a politician in would-be defunct Nigeria no matter how non-influential, nor influential your post was, will never be allowed to hold any position in the new republic. Conviction on corruption would be a capital crime and the convicted would be executed by firing squad under full public glare. Appointment to a state version of EFCC AND INEC would not be in the hands of the ruling party not to mention the ruling President as it currently is in would-be defunct Nigeria, which promotes electoral bias and investigational witch-hunt.

So many reforms would take place to make the new nation be on fast pedestal of development.
Honestly, if you can achieve this, it would be utopia. I will migrate to Naze, Owerri where I did my youth service with my wife (who's delta Igbo). Who knows?
RomanceRe: My Family is Tribally Prejudiced Towards the Lady I Want To Marry. Please Help by Emmanuelcann: 12:45pm On Jul 21, 2020
superemmy:
Good Morning Nairalanders,

I'm writing this with a bit of pain and anguish.
First off, let me begin by stating that I'm an Igbo guy mid to late twenties, working in a good company, well to do and capable of providing for a family. I'm dating a Yoruba girl who's also in her early twenties. We've been dating for close to three years now.

I love her, I know her family and they know me likewise. I've always been afraid to approach my family especially my mother because I know that they are (Igbo tribalists) forgive me for using the word.

But their belief in the "nothing comes out good of a relationship between the two cultures (igbos and yorubas)" is so strong that I've been forced to seek out help online.

My Dad is a lawyer while my Mom is a Business woman. Knowing my Dad, I expected him to have an open or liberal mind towards my relationship.

I was suprised to find out otherwise because as at this morning, I called the meeting I've been dreading, to inform them of my decision to marry my girlfriend.

The tempo started low with me explaining and justifying the need for me to have my relationship with my girlfriend ending with a proposal for marriage.

Well after I spoke, my Dad, to my utmost surprise started illustrating about the clash of the two cultures and the waywardness of the Yorubas as a whole, we ended up having a heated argument as to me defending my girlfriend and her people that my Dad has no right to judge an entire race while citing bad examples.

It didn't go well with my Mom adding her icing to the tussle of words.

The meeting did not go well this morning. Do I pray to God to soften their stance towards my girlfriend just because she is Yoruba.

Please what do I do? My girlfriend is really the best person I've ever met. I know it sounds cheesy.

I even went as far as telling my mom that my girlfriend is pregnant for me which she is not by the way.

My mom said, well she should bring the baby and we'll train the baby but the marriage is a no go discussion area and I should not even think of introducing my girlfriend to them.

We are all christians, we attend the same Redeem church both I the girl and her family. I'm not too churcheous while my parents are both Deacons and Deaconess' but my parents have a strong stance towards this just because she is Yoruba.

Please I'm not hoping to stoke a tribal war issue here
Sensible nairalanders advice me, I can bear insults too but help.

People will always be people. The United African is a powerful sign of the potential of the black man. Fix Nigeria. Forget the crooked politicians by whatever name so - called with their divisive tactics to fight their battles using their own children and kin, or else you will soon be fighting to fix the next country you get.

Move on brother, you can't even convince the Esan and Afemai to accept the empire again, but you want to try your luck with Ndiigbo in Delta state? We will be watching you.
Sorry brother, I'm Etsako (Afemai) and I know my roots. My ancestors left Benin for our present homeland. We are 100% Edo. In this modern day it's very easy to determine origins with genetics, it's not something to be established by rhetorics on the web but scientific proof.
When you do get Biafra (which I hope for your sakes you do), your problems will not be about Edos but whether the Catholics or Anglicans or traditionalists will hold sway. You will also have to tackle the bias between Wawa, Ijekebe, Nsukka, Imo, Ebonyi, Ngwas etc, not to mention, can an OSU be President?
I'm not mocking, the point is that the problem is not about self governing units as in the people that govern them. My problem is with crooked and corrupt politicians from every clime. As long as they exist, don't think you can create utopia however industrious you can be!

Balkanization is not the answer. Fix the country. The confederacy in America wanted to go on their own and the rest of the country refused. A war was fought and won, and they created the greatest democracy in the world today.

If you can just take one minute to think and realize that all the state boundaries presently in existence in Nigeria were carved by your fellow humans mostly in military uniform, and that these boundaries were made for political expediency without consulting the native dwellers on those lands....
Then you'll understand that you're just making a lot of needless noise.

Igbos are found in parts of Delta, Edo and Benue states.
Igalas are found in parts of Anambra State.
Ijaws are found in parts of Ondo State. Same with Itsekiri.
Hausas are found in parts of North Central states whose majority ethnic groups are not Hausas.
Yorubas are found in parts of Kogi State.....
The list goes on and on.

To say that Igbos are the ones that drive you mad says a lot. I mean, if the entire Edo State decide today that they want to be an independent nation, and wants the Igbos within the geographical boundary identified as Edo state to be a part of it, do you know what Igbos would do?

Nothing!
Mostly nothing.
Igbos won't lose sleep over it.

This is because Igbos generally have realized one thing: humans will always adapt, adjust and find their level. The fittest will survive and thrive. The Igbos in those territories will thrive....and then you lots will start bellyaching over their trying to dominate you. Same as Yorubas are doing in Lagos. Though this is a slightly different analogy because Igbos aren't early settlers in Lagos and environs.

Igbos want to be left alone to chart their own course and forge their own destiny.
Your opinion on this as an Edo man (whatever that means) is totally inconsequential. Let us be. We aren't your problem, until you make us your problem. The Nigerian project has been so good to you, hasn't it?
And, the day an Igbo man will sit down to discuss the Edo nation (just like you are doing right now about Igbos) hell would freeze over.

Ask an average Igbo what he thinks about an Edo nation, and he will just shrug. Because it is a non issue. There are more important things to work on. I hope you and the guys you mentioned get to understand this.
Well spoken! The British came and subjugated the great Bini empire under the geographical entity called Nigeria. The issue is, if you are in numerical minority what's the point of substituting one dominator for another? We are all represented at the national assembly in Abuja. Our state governments are all indigenous. If they were all selfless and upstanding would there be a problem with the federation? Take a look at Southern Sudan to know what will happen if any part of Nigeria goes off on it's own - the same greedy bunch of politicians will continue to play ludo with the people's destinies!
If Major General J.T.U. Aguiyi Ironsi had not passed his atrocious unification decree which weakened the centre (federal government) at the expense of the region's, Nigeria would have been like Canada today! This has been Igboland's major contribution to the destiny of Nigeria, the problems we encounter today all originate from the error of one igboman. Do the Edos want a country? not by a long shot! After all we are not the ones doing business in every other persons villages.
