No show yet @FBN MMF. I'm beginning to run out of patience. My inflow is yet to be unitized(credited) since 31st DEC.

Brother don't run out of patient. You are troubling yourself for nothing. what is happening now is not unusual. If you deposited your fund before 12noon on the 31st Dec your interest is accrued from that day till when you see it reflects. No cheating. Systems are automated. Though I don't work there but the principle is the same as per mmf in most of the fund managers. Their softwares are similar. Relax. I am very sure by the time you are long in the business you will laugh at your current reactions right now.

After all the stress, filling of forms, exchange of emails, then I was asked to submit my account details.

I guess they inquired from GT bank my money flow which was not impressive then...

The lady refused to reply my numerous emails thereafter. Amaka is her name, if I can recollect correctly.

I felt really bad.

Now that I am bouncing again, I would have love to use them but that treatment still hunts me.

They are ready for ready made persons and are not willing to help upcoming investors grow.

Best luck with them but not me.

Pls put that experience behind you. Like someone already said. Your experience then may just be a flaw of an officer. I can tell you investment one is one of d best investment firms you can do business with as we speak. I have been there as a customer and a sales person since 2014. just checked my account n yes you are right, the interest was paid into my account as at 31 dec,but what baffles me is that ,I had gained up to #20,000 as at the last time I checked my mmf account but only received 12,241 naira, the principal amount is 7m, investments runs for only 12 days, from dec 19th until 31st dec, furthermore, my present accrued balance shows *nothing* leaving 3 days investments not accounted for. How can accrued 20k gains be reduced to 12,241naira, eventhough some taxes were withheld , it shouldn't be that crazily much, is there anything I'm missing here? This kinda seems confusing unlike my lovely TBs which is always direct n unconfusing

Kindly be informed that interest from mmf are tax free. I'm sure fbnquest will not be different. You can call customer care 0708 062 6000 by Monday to register your observation as regard your interest . I'm sure your doubts will be cleared.

Relax it's the usual end of year things. You will notice by now your accrued interest as at 31st December have been reinvested or paid to you bank account depending on your option regarding your interest. By Monday all your accrued interest from 1st to 5th will reflect. Though I work for investment one their model in FBN is same with ours.

The difference between a registered fund and just investing in a firm is the way it is structured to ensure investors don't loose funds if the fund manager goes under, so for all mutual funds in Nigeria there are always the following parties involved,

Fund manager( who manages the fund)
custodian ( who holds the funds)
Registrar (who keeps records of all investors and transactions)
Trustee (who ensures the fund manager sticks to the investment objectives)

We still have the external auditors and the regular monitoring by SEC to ensure the fund manager sticks to the investment objective, so if stanbic goes down(which is not likely to happen) your funds are safe because they are not with stanbic but with the custodian.

Thanks enie4life. This is what I have tried to explain to some of my clients and prospective clients who are always afraid of investment one. In addition to what he said, that is why if you check the acct name of each mmf mangers it's always have two names: d fund name n d trustee eg FBN mmf/investment one financial service, UCT/Abacus mmf and so on

I understand you are talking of the 250k for diversification. That is why I said open a stockbroking account with investment one with the link on my signature. Then you get stocks known to pay dividends regularly. Base on past performance you can look the way of any of the following: Gtbank, Zenith, Access, Flour mills, Nestle, Dangote Sugar, Okomu, Total, and the likes. It's true that rates are low right now, but I will advice you don't let your moral be low as per investing. Let it be one of your resolutions for year 2020 to keep on investing. Let me say once again we should not equate MDB with other financial institution even when they in the same group/holding, in terms of business and operations they differ. though in theory they make you believe they are the same. For the fact that mutual funds rate is lower than what it use to be should not make us take unnecessary risk. Be careful of what n where you want to put your money. Zero returns is a better than negative earnings. An adage says fresh fish is very sweet but it also has fresh n dangerous bones. Let's be well guided.
