The molotov-ribbentrop pact was a farce, meant to buy the Germans some time and secure their rear while they execute operation sea lion. After the losses to the Royal Air force during the battle of Britain, Hitler decided to postpone the full scale invasion of Britain and went for the Soviet Union first. Also, Hitler was kinda sympathetic to the Brits in the earlier stages, preferring to bring them to the table as partners instead of fighting with them.

- There is no proof that Stalin was well prepared for the war with Germany. There were proof that he dismissed all insinuations from his own people about possible war with Germany, believing that Hitler will never go against their non aggression pact. As a matter of fact the soviet union lost so much ground at the earlier stages of the war because they were quite unprepared and the previous military purges by Stalin severely weakened their army.

- Provide proof of the secret deals between the west and Hitler. Please do not add conspiracy theories pulled directly out from someone's arse. The only deal I know of was the pre-war agreement between Chamberlain (the UK prime Minister before Churchill) and Hitler for the sake of peace in which they agreed that the annexation of Czechoslovakia by Germany would be the last. The subsequent invasion of Poland in 1939 by Hitler signaled the official beginning of the 2nd world War as France and Britain declared war on Germany afterwards.

- Apart from Normandy, there was a whole lot of war materials supplied to the Soviet Union through the lend lease act. Millions of tons of materials were supplied by the US to Stalin while they made efforts to open a second front beginning with the invasion of North Africa in 1942 and the defeat of Rommel's forces, followed by the invasion of Sicily (southern Italy) and then the invasion of France in 1944 by the allies. If you really think these actions did not severely weaken Germany in their eastern European campaign then I will end this discussion. These were also part of the resolution emphasized during the Tehran conference with Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin in Iran. Also remember that the Soviet had their very harsh weather to thank during the war.

- The late decision by Hitler to obliterate the allied forces at Dunkirk during the earlier stages of the war was clearly a strategic mistake. Goering had boasted and asked that his air forces be allowed to finish the job but they were hampered by bad weather. By the time Hitler allowed the ground forces to finish off the allies it was too late as around 400k of the allied forces had been evacuated. Search for the German version of this story online and educate yourself.

- Hitler didn't cross the English channel because he clearly lost the battle of Britain. It would be suicidal to do so without total control of the skies.

- The west did not help Russia? I don't know how you guys are able to comfortably dish out lies and believe your own lies even when they sound so dull. Remember the war was not really fought on US soil. In fact I wonder if the USA would have joined the war if not for the Japanese attack at pearl harbor in December 1941 for the purpose of crippling the US pacific fleet. The US fought full scale both in the Pacific theater and also in Europe.

Correct. UK too tried a whole lot in the 2nd world war. In fact it was the problems the Brits gave the German Luftwaffe during the preliminary battles to gain control of the air over Britain that made the Germans postpone operation sea lion planned for the invasion of Britain, and subsequently turned to execute operation barbarossa to invade and conquer the Soviet Union. They almost succeeded too, recording some of the largest military encirclements in history during the war.

If it wasn't for the Soviet factories that were relocated, US lend lease and massive supply of materials to the Soviet Union as well as the recapture of North Africa, the invasion of Sicily and the opening of the western front with the Largest military amphibious landings in history at Normandy mainly by US and Britain (supported by French, Canadian and Australian forces) which effectively split the German forces in two and gave the Russians some breathing space, the war could have ended very differently.

I also know some very "lean" people who watch their sugar intake with calorie counters and still ended up diabetic. I'm sure you will agree that it's more genetic.

Saying sugar intake is a risk factor for obesity is quite true but then there are very many obese people who not diabetic and will never be. So using that kind of line to counter my argument only suggests you want to argue for the sake of arguing. Well I'm not interested. Persons with historical cases of diabetes in their family lineage are way more suceptible to diabetes, whether they are obese or not. Bye

Uhm I don't think getting to be the president is "success" in itself, it is what you do with it that determines whether you are a success or a failure. I think that is what he was trying to say.

Also, we make it sound as if just getting to be president is all the success that is needed. It is not, it is actually a lot of work and that is why many "working" presidents end up with grey hair and even lose a lot of weight by the time they are leaving power.

Our mindset and orientation on this issue in this part of the world is not okay. That is how we encourage impunity and excessive arrogance in our leaders because once they get there they feel they can now relax and enjoy the good things of life for free rather than actually working hard for the people.
