nairavsdollars: The apex leader of Igbos in All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos state, Honourable Jude Idimogu has challenged the Special Adviser on Drainage and Water Resources to Lagos State Governor, Joe Igbokwe, to contest a councillorship election in his ward and win if he wants to vie for the position of apex leader in Lagos.
Speaking in an interview with INDEPENDENT, Idimogu, a two-time member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, said he is far better and more qualified to lead Igbos in Lagos having contested and won election twice, unlike Igbokwe who has only been getting appointments.
Idimogu, who said his position as apex leader of Igbos in Lagos was given to him by Igbo leaders, also said Igbokwe should go and fight those who made him the leader if he is dissatisfied with what has happened.
“The issue is I did not give myself the position of apex leader. It is Igbo leaders in Lagos state, especially the Ezes and other community leaders of Ndigbo who recognized me and said for the fact that I have won elections twice and I am in the Lagos State House of Assembly representing them, that based on that I am their apex leader.
“They even gave me a certificate as apex leader. I did not give it to myself. So, whoever that is fighting me should go and fight them. All I know is that my Igbo brothers and sisters recognized me and said I should go and represent their interest in Lagos state.
“I don’t expect everyone to accept my leadership, particularly Joe Igbokwe. However, let me tell him that in the history of Nigeria and worldwide, an elected person is better than an appointed person, irrespective of the number of years you have been there. That one is secondary.
“I won’t join issues with Joe Igbokwe but the only challenge i gave him is that if he really wants to be an apex leader by Ndigbo and he wants to contest the position with me, let him go and contest election and win; even if it is local government election or as a councillor in his ward where he lives. If he wins, then let him come and drag the position of apex leader with me,” he said. https://www.independent.ng/joe-igbokwe-should-win-councillorship-election-first-if-he-wants-to-be-igbo-apex-leader-idimogu/
The gutter man doesn't have any electoral value he is just one of tinibu's errand boys.
Last night, 33 Atyap natives, who were among hundreds of thousands of already starving indigenes under a 24 hours rigidly imposed curfew that was 65 days yesterday, were killed in five Atyap villages in Atyap Chiefdom, Zangon Kataf LGA in Southern part of Kaduna state by Fulani militia.
The villages affected are: Apiashyim, Kibori, Apiako, Atakmawei and Magamiya. Prior to now, they were all shutdown with fierce armed military men patrolling and enforcing the 24 hours curfew. But when the gunmen struck, they were not on ground.
Four Atyap youths from Majuju, and Kibori villages who went to farm under the curfew were arrested by soldiers after being thoroughly beaten and handed over to the Police who whisked them to SCID, Kaduna. They have been denied bail since 26th June, 2020. These is the trend of brutality that have forced our people indoors for nearly two months today. But Fulani herders have been wondering freely and grazing over large swaths of maize farms of our locked up farmers.
Last night, around 11pm, trucks loads of armed Fulani militia made their way through military check points under the curfew and stormed Apiashyim and Kibori villages. They lay siege to Apyaishyim killing, looting and burning houses. In the wake of the cruelty, they left six people dead, and 20 houses burnt.
In nearby Kibori village, 7 persons were killed by the marauding, pampered Fulani militia.
Around 12am, they struck Atakmawei sleeping community and carried out another carnage after which 12 persons were killed and ten houses burnt.
They also went to Apyiako and killed 3 person, and burnt homes, including the home of late Col. Bobai Ishaku among others. At the same time, Magamiya village was also attacked and 5 people killed and seven houses burnt.
The attacker operated between 11pm and 4am this morning before they left unchallenged.
According to survivors, the Fulani militia included Fulani youths born and raised in the affected villages.
They would come to a compound and shout out the name of the occupants challenging them to come out and face them.
In Apiako, scared villagers who hid under grown maize crops said they saw what looked like an armored military truck pulled up at the village square followed by familiar military motor bikes while the attackers were busy killing, but never made any attempt to stop them.
For the records, we want to say that Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna state has tied up our law abiding people under an irrational, protracted curfew which is obviously intended to cause maximum harm to our communities. For example, we are inundated by daily cries for food, medicine and money, with rising cases of child malnutrition and kwashiorkor as parents cannot go out and look for food for their starving children. The sick are trapped at home. No one wants to risk the brutality of the military that are enforcing the curfew. Even if the curfew is lifted, freely grazing cattle herded by armed Fulani men have eaten up and trampled over thousands of hectares of grain farms, yam farms, sugar cane crops among others. This portends obvious hunger and increased poverty for our communities this year and the next.
We are appealing to the international community, men and women of conscience allover the world to come to our aide as there is what looks like a government sponsored genocide against Southern Kaduna Communities.

I do wonder where all these bloodthirsty fulanis will eventually run to when their terror loving godfather in aso rock will leave office? I really pity the innocents amongst them by then because there will definitely be no where to hide anymore in Nigeria than for them to run to futa jalon in guinea where they all migrated from.
spafu: We, the sensible sons and daughters of Edo state, overwhelming stand in support of Obaseki. No man is God. We will never again allow godfatherism to thrive in.our beloved state. We will never again allow looters to seize power and appropriate to themselves what collectively belongs to all of us. We shall not allow one short devil with a lavish lifestyle steal our money to take care of his foreign wife. We are massively voting our performaning governor back for another term.
All these useless curses doesn't have any effects on our nigerian wicked politicians if it really works buhari and his bloodthirsty ruling cabals would have all since perished from the wailing and curses of thausands of innocent men, women and children they have sent to their early graves.
Hofbrauhaus: Only God in heaven knows what oshiomOle really wants? Only God knows. How oshiomOle would want to destabilize this peaceful state is beyond me. You did your 8years, we all supported you. You built a 20billion mansion in Edo and in South Africa, a university, a gigantic hospital with Edo money and we didn't kill you. We didn't Stone you, we respected you....
Now you think we would fold our hands and allow you destabilize our state? Ha!
OSHIOMOLE and his cultist friends would be resisted by every means necessary and all the millions he is sharing to state house of assembly members is an effort in futility.
He simply wants to be like tinibu and accumulate more wealth for himself and his generations unborn.
Why are nigerian jornalists and bloggers always blurring the faces of criminals and ritual killers that are caught by the police? They are part of the problem of this country they ought to be exposing the faces of these heartless wicked people for the world to see.
fergie001: The Chairmanship election of the Nigerian Medical Association, Enugu State branch, turned into a free-for-all, following weeks of terse statements by warring factions.
weIMPORT: The chilling moment a female pastor told a man identified as Ebuka that he's kept in a woman's private part, was captured on camera.
In the video, the cleric during a church crusade revealed that she was hearing the name Ebuka from the Spirit realm and asked who bears such name within the congregation.
The man identified himself and the woman said he's spirituallly hidden inside a woman's private part.
The most hilarious part was when the interpreter asked the pastor to help him as that place is not good for him
Only the spiritually wise can really understand most most guys will die poor and wretched after sleeping with some slay queens who are highly possessed by wicked demonic marine spirits that are sent into this world to destroy humanity unless they are lucky to find a real man of God who will deliver them. Sexual intercourse is not just an ordinary physical activity there is also an exchange involved between both partners this is why is not a good idea to have sex with total strangers.
KEVIND: The Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) has condemned the President Muhammadu Buhari led government’s loan arrangements with China.
It said the administration had embarked on a suicidal mission that will push the Nigerian economy to its knees.
OPC Publicity Secretary, Yinka Oguntimehin, in a statement on Tuesday expressed worry that the borrowings would make the South-West the greatest loser.
Noting that Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, said it will take the Federal Government about 20 years to pay back the loan, OPC decried that government failed to judiciously utilise previous loans secured.
“How can you explain the rationale behind the loan arrangements? The government is up to something sinister because all available indices have it that the Nigerian economy is gradually moving downwards. Today our naira is N470 to a dollar. What that means is that our naira is falling daily to the American dollar.
“The Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) was established in 1913, even before the Nigerian independence in 1960. It is sad that one of our national heritage and institutions in the south is being mortgaged and considered as one of the assets and monuments for the payment plan with the China government.
“The controversial sovereign guarantee and sovereign immunity clause in the loan arrangement with China has raised many questions about the sincerity of federal government, and as a group, we can not keep quiet as if nothing is wrong. Nobody truly understands the drift of this government.
“We have a strong feeling that the North is suspecting that Nigeria will not last beyond 2023, that is why they are mortgaging the future of the entire nation with bad loans, and sadly they are using Amaechi and his allies from the south to perpetrate their sinister plans”, he noted.
Junaid Mohammed, elder statesman and Second Republic lawmaker, has faulted the claim by another elder Statesman and South-South leader, Chief Edwin Clark, that other Nigerians should drop their presidential ambition and allow the Igbos exclusive right to the Presidency in 2023.
Clark in a statement last weekend had said it was uncalled for and hypocritical for Northern politicians to argue that there was no rotation of power between North and South, as President Muhammdu Buhari presently serving his second term if office, rode to power in 2015 based on the arrangement.
He also asked Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to forgo his rumoured presidential ambition, saying, it was the turn of the South-East zone to produce the next president in 2023.
However, speaking in an interview with Daily Independent, Junaid who described the principle of zoning as a tragedy for Nigeria, said it is unfair for an elder like Chief Clark to be advocating that other Nigerians should be barred from aspiring for the highest office in the land in a democracy.
“Clark should tell us how he came about that. Who told him that and where did he learn his own politics? On what basis is the 2023 presidency their turn? If he says it is their turn, when will Ijaws have their turn? They forget that the Igbos were there when Goodluck Jonathan was handpicked by Obasanjo and made the president.
Is E.K Clark a special prophet of God to know that it is their turn? By the way, if he is saying nobody should contest the election except the Igbos, how come when the election was contested by other people in the past, he did not make any comment? Some of these politicians in this country are such a disgraceful lot. They have no respect for truth and they seem to forget history.
“This is not NDDC we are discussing here, we are talking of presidency from 1999 till date. If you say nobody should contest except the Igbos, when people come out to contest, let him go and tell INEC not to register them or he should go and unleash the terrorists in the Niger Delta to go and shoot everybody who dare to contest or go and join IPOB to start threatening people”.
He also said it will be difficult for other political parties to support Igbos in 2023 as they themselves did not support others in previous elections.
When the Igbos are expecting to have unchallenged race among themselves, how come in previous elections, they did not vote for other parties? They didn’t vote for PDP and they never voted for APC . And now they expect that somebody will now come and vote for them . if you want peoples support, you should also support them.
“But if you don’t support people and you think you can blackmail them into supporting you, let’s see how they will fare. Afterall, EK Clark, Ohanaeze and others are now threatening to sue Buhari , let them go to court and see what happens. Let’s see who will deny those who don’t want Igbo presidency the right to vote.”
hollah123: if u believe Boko haram is truly a war then u are deceiving yourself, that is North's siphon pump.that is their own oil,do u think it's easy to allocate 1 bullion dollar against insurgency n not buy a single weapon?
see ehn,war can't break out u Igbos better learn politics n beat others in d game of politics order than issuing war threats........if in doubt just look at d way the government handled revolution now today n how they did python dance, don't u think they can do more to Boko haram? they can but they will not cos it's their meal ticket,so bro work for presidency n stop cheap blackmail n threats
You are the one deceiving urself if u think the whole north will ever be united again to fight the igbos in another genocidal war of attrition. The recent massacres of northern minorities by the fulanis have opened their eyes to the real meaning of one nigeria there's absolutely no way nigeria as we know it can survive a second civil war don't decieve urself even the people of the niger delta are also looking for any opportunity to break out of nigeria and be in total control of their God given resources that's been currently stolen by the north and the sw.
PremierGuy: Why not invest half of the money in properties or gold that will appreciate in value instead in a car that will depreciate within few years.
The price of gold is at all time high at $1,975 and will surely continue to go up as the world economy is going through recession.
Good advice but most artists/musicians prefers spending on the bling bling lifestyle because that's actually what their proffession which is show business is all about. We might not even know if he even has other investments that is generating huge income for him.
This is where the buhari's regime will score hundred percent he is always very swift in taking action to arrest protesters against his terrorist govt but extremely slow like a snail to arrest bloodthirsty terrorist groups like the fulaniherds men, bandits and bokoharam killing innocent nigerians daily.
The apc is obviously using huge amounts of money to woo the edo house of assembly members to their side, obaseki need to be watching his back before they take him unaware and get him impeached with their numbers.
SpecialAdviser: She is the DELSU vice President. I won't be surprised if she eventually become a strong politician, find herself in house of reps.
Funny thing is that she will also steal hell of money.
That's the normal trend. Even the Devil is always amazed at how terrible Nigerians are.
Very true the way she was even smiling in the video shows the protest is just fun to her corruption have eaten too deep into every fiber of the nigerian society I really doubt if this generation have what it takes to salvage this country.
Kosiso12: "Ebonyi International Airport To Be Completed in 2022" - Governor Umahi
By Wisdom Nwedene, Abakaliki
Governor David Nweze Umahi of Ebonyi State has disclosed that the ongoing International Airport in Onueke, Ebonyi State will commence operation by 2022 .
A statement made available to IGBERE TV by the Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Francis Nwaze said the Governor disclosed this while inspecting the project on Tuesday.
"This is 2020, we are looking at 2022 unfailingly to complete this Airport Project. But most of the important projects we are passionate about completing are these Airport, the College of Medicine, dualisation of Abakaliki-Afikpo Road, Abakaliki to Enugu and the stadium, these are the major projects we have.
"The Bible says when men say there's a casting down, we will say there's a lifting up. Abraham followed God when He asked him to follow him to show him a land, he believed God. When God sends you on a mission and you have a passion, He gives you a vision which you pursue with passion.
"Everything is possible to those who believe. You have to have the passion then, God will make a way for you."
Explainin further, Governor Umahi said:
"This is the terminal building for the airport, it is like two and a half size of the Shopping Mall, if you can trace the Mall, this is like two and a half size of the Mall. It is going to be the biggest terminal building in the country. We have done almost 90 percent of the pilling and the vocal, and that's the real work and it is where takes more money, what's in the ground is more than what is coming up.
"The tarmac is hundred metres width, it's like ten-lane by 4 kilometres. Tarmac is a different thing because there's impact load, there's traction load and also there's dynamic load, there is a special design, but the earthwork is very challenging, we are going through valleys and hills and we are on it. You can see the airport road, it's about 4 kilometres. The airport flyover is being set out for construction."
I won't argue and not believe this man he has proven to be a real technocrat in govt with all the visible massive infrastructures he has so far completed in ebonyi. This is why it is very good to elect well read technocrats into govt not illiterates and touts.
As a free born Igbo man I don't think igbo presidency will change anything or even benefit the average igbo person on the streets it's just for bragging rights and for the benefits of few igbo political elites nothing else. What has producing numerous presidents and military head of states over the years done for the northern region and it's illiterate, poverty striken terrorized huge population? Igbo presidency is a very risky and dangerous venture considering how majority of northerners still views the average igbo man with deep suspicion, Igbo elites and politicians should rather be fighting for autonomy either by restructuring or even biafra not exposing igbos in nigeria to grave dangers of igbo presidency.
DEROX: Abeg you don't have a point you said they vowed never to allow a non Muslim rule over them who is Gowon who is obasanjo who is Jonathan are they Muslims? The problem they have is Igbo's why do you think they increased fine for hate speech to Five million naira from five hundred thousand ? who is the arch head critic of this govt which region. hates the government most?or better still why didn't they massacre yoruba Christian or ijaws working in their civil service one thing about the north is mind your business and don't speak against their religion which some won't obey and even insult their hosts so why won't they fight?northerners normally are warriors even in the military they have the highest number so you you expect to drag land or insult people that have all this and they won't retaliate? Northerners are not gullible yorubas na So don't tell me Fulani hate Christian never to rule over them o what triggered the hate was the jan 1966 coup and you see what they did in the revenge coup of July 1966
So u don't even know that southern minorities including even yoruba christains are not spared during religious riots in the north? What about the daily massacres of southern kaduna christains by fulani muslim extremists?
Changing all the service chiefs will never change anything without changing the man giving all the orders and policies. I personally don't see any changes any time soon until buhari himself leaves office.
geez18: Engr emeka okwuosa MD/CEO Oilserv LTD. A very enigmatic character. I remember the time I came in contact with him some years back; at a project we executed for him (road construction) at his home town, he exuded such charisma. A very calm and collected fellow he is.
I still follow your progress sir. keep up the good works.
Not enough nddc have so far collected #1trillion since it's creation what major projects have they executed with this huge amount in the niger delta region? Mr odili should also explain to us how they spent #81b in just four months.
DEROX: The july 1966 coup caused it all plus your ironsi who abolished our regional system of government because of greed thinking others are fools now the tables have turned. the north and yorubas coexist peacefully even in illorin that was snatched we hear little or no fight from them sometimes they do but igbos always feel they can insult their hosts and nothing will happen yorubas may do them no shit but the north are Bleep up treaters even ask south africa xenophobia mainly igbos were killed will you also say south africa started the hate?
The hatred didn't start after the 1966 coup that was even led by a man from delta state the igbos have always been hated and massacred right from 1945 pls go do ur research properly. You can't even compare the xenophobic attacks against igbos and other black africans in south africa to that of northern nigeria. The core north have always been a region that is deep in religious voilence and blood shedding of innocent souls due to their islamic quranic extremist beliefs that commanded them never to allow infidels (christains and non muslims) to ever rule over them the history is there for all to clearly comfirm this fact. The deep hatred against igbos in nigeria is simply because more than 90% of igbos are practicing christains and have stubornly refused to convert to islam and loyal to the fulani caliphate like the the way the yorubas of the sw have done. Nigeria will forever continue to go round in circles and will never become a civilized developed nation until the north decides to either accept the igbos and the religious faith they have all chosen for themselves or let them leave the nigerian unholy union in peace.
