Who saw this? Jose Mourinho 'would have turned down Manchester United' Comments (256) Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho claims he knew months ago of Sir Alex Ferguson's plans to stand down as Manchester United boss, but says he was always intent on returning to Stamford Bridge. Ferguson, 71, left Old Trafford last month after 26 years in charge and has since been replaced by David Moyes. Mourinho said: "I knew that Ferguson was retiring many months ago. "I would have turned down every job in the world - the Manchester United job, every one - for Chelsea." The Portuguese, who won the Premier League twice during his first spell in charge at Chelsea, has signed a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge after leaving Real Madrid. Mourinho, 50, had long been linked with replacing Ferguson at United but insists that he was only interested in a return to Chelsea - despite being told of Ferguson's plans. "I am so happy with his [Ferguson's] trust because it was big news for the world - I can imagine that just a very small circle around him knew that, and it was a big responsibility for me to know that," he said. "Why do I know that? Because we are friends, so if I am his friend to know that he is going to retire, he is also my friend to know that the club I want to coach in England is Chelsea. "Of course I told him I want to come to Chelsea. I would turn down every job in the world for Chelsea." Mourinho has also warned his players that they will have to work hard to fit in once they start pre-season training at the start of July. son training at the start of July. Mourinho has confirmed that John Terry will stay as club captain but also said that players remaining from his first spell will not get special treatment. He said: "There is something I say whenever I go to a new club and I am going to say it again when I meet the players on 8 July - and some of the boys will have heard it before from me. "It is a sentence I always say on the first day: 'If you are a top professional, if you are not a selfish person, if you put the club in front of yourself and if you are here to work 100% for me, for your fellow players and for the club, then we will have a wonderful relationship. "If you are selfish, if you think about yourself and you don't care about the club, don't care about the image, if you don't care about the fans then we are in big trouble, so it depends on you if the relationship is fantastic or if it is not fantastic." |
dayokanu: Nani na baller.Omo, this one na serious upper cut!! ![]() |
Manchester United? They are a top club, De Gea talks highly of them, so a move there would interest me for sure! I'm not sure about the weather there but they have tried once before, I think now this move excites me!" - Thiago Alcantara |
Siena, Need your email pls |
Hmmm, for those rooting out for Grimaldi, i can only say it is because of the cost thing. Cos i can list down a number of cars that i shipped through them that were vandalized. April 2013 - Toyota Highlander - two fog lamps disappeared, left rear lamp damaged apparently from an impact. August 2012 - Toyota Camry - power window switch October 2011 - Honda Accord Ex-L - Remote key stolen May 2011 - 2003 Toyota Corolla engine damaged (knocked), power window switch and a very rough gash. Now, these have been my experience with Grimaldi and i am not sure if there was ever a car i shipped through them that wasn't damaged or something stolen from it. The others were because i had them in a container. I have also used Sallaum (1x) and Hoegh (more than 10x) and i am not sure if i have had as much issues on Hoegh hence, i will continue to stick to them where they are available. Now, here's what i need from those in US, Bizbooks, Bellong etc. Can we have a list of Ports in US where Hoegh, Sallaum loads from? i can say these few for; Hoegh - Galveston Port texas Sallaum - Baltimore, Boston Ports AES - Haven't used them before. The wait with Grimaldi is getting unnerving and i am not sure if i will use them for the next roro shipment i will do. I have to wait for over 3 months to start and finish an order and before making any profit. Who waits that long for a turnover? I admit that most times the 50-80k difference in clearing costs can be much, but i am sure buyers will be the ones to bear those costs. Whatever be the case, i am not sure i will use Grimaldi again if i have the option. |
just shows how we choose convenience just to win an argument. Does it favour you? No! Then discredit it, period! ![]() |
dayokanu: We are saying who is the better club, You keep winning the argument and Class while we keep winning the trophiesDayo, i don't expect you to give in this way. . . . .come on!! |
^^^^^^^ Classic Coogar!! Chest thumping!!! You got me cracked up man! |
@Jarus, Ajanlekoko, There are a few agencies that give long term contract in the Development sector. They are basically the ones with more stable source of funding; OSIWA, Save the Children, Action Aid etc The likes of UNDP though with a stable source of funding apportion budgets to programmes so that if there isn't any need to continue with the programme, they won't have issues laying off staff. But that not withstanding, most of them hardly shut down programmes, at least since i came here i have only heard of programme changing direction rather being shut down. Hence i will do the interview and see what it is like. I will keep the house updated on the result. On another note, who's observing the growing popularity of Project management? thinking of doing PMP exam at some point. |
3 pages between midday and 4pm, that's barely 4 hours. That's what you get with Coogar and Dayo. . .Elampiro has now been added to the mix. Una get power joo ![]() |
debosky: ^^ Good riddance to the short wearing dude. I'm sure coogar and chamotex would agree. Not only them, i do as well. ![]() |
No one is paying attention to my post above? Wetin nah? na so una busy reach? ![]() |
Just to get discussion goings, I just got an email now for an interview with a UNDP office in Abuja and to be frank, i am tempted to go. I think this was one of the applications i did and forgot about while i was seriously searching. The role is practically for the same thing i am doing now, but i am being tempted by the effect UNDP will have on my CV at some point in my career. But where i am currently is just as good and i am just about into my 4th month on the job which is why it sounds crazy to me. I do get bored easily if work stream remains the same. This job has not shown that since i try to engage with depts outside my principal duty when i am less busy. Also, this one is not as hectic as i initially envisaged. But in all, i do love to stay here and get some mileage; at least 3 years though everyone works on a 3 year renewable contract. Now, my question is this, how do your guys see such a short timed movement given that i just resumed here in February? I am more concerned about the reputation damage that could come with it if it doesn't go down well with my employers and also the fact that i like the team as it is now. Also, who's done this before and how did it go? Let the talks and ideas flow in. Will appreciate the input of Ajanlekoko, Cece, Suraj etc. |
BizBooks: If you want a shipping line that will give you expected date of departure, try SallaumThe thing about Grimaldi is that their terminal here is the safest (they still pilfer and vandalise though) so i don't get the hype really. My shipper won't hear of any other line aside Grimaldi. Can you kindly advise what US ports ACL load from cos the waiting is already damaging business for boys. then, do they do container? |
I can relate to No 8. Really funny! |
Purist: Captain Vidic! This guy!!! Body armour! Jeez! What commitment! |
coded guy: Don't u get it!!! Its your turn tonite. It has always been my turn; for 2 years now. ![]() So what are you on about? ![]() |
coded guy:Really, even as she's here with me? They've been making do with monograms ![]() |
coded guy: So Muki has been cheating!!!Definitely not on me ![]() |
dayokanu: Why not just marry him, He is a GAYYner already so no wahalaIf you are married to one, let me know how it feels. For now, am comfortable with Muki ![]() |
4llerbuntu: Seriously, u folks know nada.Bros, if you are not married, i will help you find wife! Just gimme ur specs GOD Bless U!! As for the bolded i am LMAO!!! ![]() |
kulyie: ndo, ijeoma dey portharcourt dey enjoy her life.chi chi wey chop your rice don marry, nkechi dey sell cloth for abuja ![]() |
Kgdavid: so if he brags too much for your liking what stops you from politely going home and ending the matter there? i dont understand the way some folks reason.... why not maintain your own dignity and pride and simply go your way? if u dont like a guy why not just leave him be in peace? to pay back for bragging as if by bragging the fella did something grievously harmful to you is simply wicked and is clear evidence that the girls saying such cannot be matured, have no sense of values, little self respect, and are extremely greedy. greed in a girl is one trait almost everyone finds distasteful.Undue exposure; that is it! My point is the motive. . . . .for a guy who obviously has nothing to brag e mean one thing; puss.y they hungry and the easiest way to get it is to brag and say what you are not. AM not against it; but if the babe enter 'chop him' mood, my hand no dey oo ![]() Come to think of it, it is actually low self esteem and lack of confidence that will make a man brag. Boastful people who have achieved what they boast about are intelligent enough to be strategic. You win the girl over first with your airs and swag and then pin her down with those soft, but below the belt brags, that's how to do it. No be to go on date on day 1 and tell her Mobil pays you 2m twice a month she go chop you raw so that when you are chopping her, she no go send |
No two patterns can be the same. I am sure the Man U board has free flowing, champagne football before naming Moyes it was more of the United attitude DNA than the playing DNA. The former cannot be changed into while it is possible with the later. So Coogar should quit bursting a spleen Let him fail first. Na so the guy the hyper-ventilate for Fergie selection yet you never see him retract his words when his prediction puke in his face. |
Come oh, i dey hate double standards. . . . . . . .Guys, no be today we begin vex for our fellow guys say dem too boast abi i lie? ![]() We guys do the same, so why we dey bad mouth babes? You guy come begin boast say money over plenty, no be to comot belt follow am chop am? So because say na babe, levels don change ni? kai!! ![]() |
Come oh, all you guys bad mouthing the OP wetin be una own? ![]() You went and started boasting for a girl; one of two thing is involved, it's either u want to chop pussy and clean mouth and you want to impress. ![]() If you were genuine, what are you bragging for? What are you bragging for? She sees it as an opportunity to chop. It turns out you are fake, who is to blame, the girl? After you don go show yourself say your papa na Warren Buffet Abeg, make we hear word. If you want know gold diggers, close your mouth, close your pocket, na she go run. But when you run your mouth and say things you are not, sorry brotherly, i support them, make them chop your money!! |
coogar: what is longevity? who cares about that?I wonder if this stands on it's own. It just happens innit? No dude, it takes the creation of a stable back room process. Ask Chelsea and they will tell you! Let it fly dude, Moyes will have all he requires to do well |
This sort of Coogar's hair raising though looking premised on some evidence is baseless. I think United management and board more than you and i are in a better position to critically view things. You and I are no soothsayer to say Mourinho will succeed or that Moyes will fail. The fact that Fergie is up stairs buoys me to be optimistic. No one and i mean No ONE can fit into those shoes and i dare say this with all manner of arrogance. Fergie's shoes are too big! Yet someone has to do that job. It is an opportunity to see what someone with not so much success pedigree will do. What makes an institution are ideologies, philosophies and processes. Man U has built all those and with the help of Fergie. I do not expect any coach who comes here to do any less hence the need to seek for someone who fits exactly into the sort of structures that built. You will most definitely hear institutions tell you that they recruit more for character and then train people into what they want them to be. This is the case and i expect that whoever Fergies suggests to take over will have his support in advices. On the business side, do you think that with the sort of investment and debt hanging over this club, that the Glazer's will allow just anything to go? I think not. But i am dead sure they will allow for a rebuilding process. What concerns me more is some continuity in terms of institutionalizing what we already have and not some instant success that will fizzle away. That is what we are Man United and no other club. The Youth side won't die because Moyes came; JM never groomed any youth side. The system's at Old Trafford won't fail because Moyes came; they will only be improved upon. We have been complaining about a weak midfield and we get someone who concentrates a lot of his team around solidity of his midfield and Coogar is complaining. Moyes might be the product of some Scottish conspiracy, but i prefer him to another 5 year wonder. If the fire is burning in him? Yes, the challenge of working and scaling up the records at United is enough for anyone to be zealous. As for Mourinho, he's enjoyed some good moments with little or no career dip. That dip has started with his stint at RM and may last for a while. It is a law of nature. Who's with me on this? Please let's give Moyes the chance to succeed biko!! |
