9icetoo: formula 1 cars get up to 360km/hr and take bends at speeds of up to 150km/hr. They are three times lighter than the camry and yet never fly off at the bends. How u take a bend depends a lot on ur anticipation, your driving skill (accelerating into/out of a turn; braking into/in a turn), tyres, road conditions (gravel road or tarred road) and lastly guts (lots of it). Some drivers can takes risks with a fiat you wouldn't dare take with a merc. You got me laughing there dude!! ![]() But on the above, formula one cars have broader tires and close affinity to the ground than these family sedans. A whole lot more nimble and also swift. You can't compare that with a 5 passenger sedan with lots of inhibition and restraint. I nearly ended in a bush at a speed of 140km/h with a 2006 Camry. . . wasn't funny oo |
I have a lot of technical knowledge on these diesel engined models and a many guys here in Naija who own these cars are having nightmares with maintenance issues due to the fact that most independent workshops for BMW's only seem to be concerned about the more common petrol models. The diesel variant are quite powerful with good torque on demand especially when climbing hilly roads. Assisted by a turbo charger and Direct Injection diesel engine, you do really get an exhilarating drive. If you have any technical queries, pls feel free to call or email me.
I can see you are based in Abuja? I just relocated and planning to buy another car. But i understand there is a dearth of good mechs in Abuja hence scaring me from the german guys. How true and what's your specialty? |
Does this equally apply to individual importers? |
yungboss: so far Siena, you 've the fastest here...i was vascillating between a clk 430 and a bmw 335i...but i think the 335 is faster...no doubt it will keep up with you V8 Audi...I doubt if you stand any chance on that bro. . . . .don't joke with Audi V8s, they are monsters. I have had a race with an A8 with a 740i and it wasn't funny the way it kept shoeing me behind. . . . better match V8 for V8. What's the consumption like on the 323 and 325. . . .thinking of getting either of the two or a C240 but the fuelling is giving a second thought. What's the tank capacity and what's the reach on it? |
yungboss: Question: why was he fishtailing so badly, torque steer, poor handling or what? Maybe on the highway, on a stretched thoroughfare i'd ve caught up cos my BMWs don't dissapoint under highway situations, lol...this is to lighten us up, welcome back to work all! You got a story to share, let's hear yours!I haven't done BMW that much, but i think i can give this a try given my experience with 3.5 liter V6 on toyota; Avalon, Camry and Sienna. I think it's poor handling and very light body/shell. In fact, a four cylinder would have skidded off at that speed. But cos the V6 is heavier metal, it feels a little heavier. The Camry from experience, even the Avalon, are produced with light materials to reduce its weight and then conserve on fuel. So at speeds higher than 140km/h +, you have a 'flying' shell. Hence at bends, you are better off slowing down to avoid skidding off or a somersault. Now, if that was an 03-07 Honda Accord or more, be sure to see it eating the bend. From my experience, the Honda is a lot heavier and the closest you can get to a German in terms of handling. This is why it consumes more fuel compared to the toyota. I have done 180km/h on a CR-V and a V6 Accord before. The highest i ever did on a toyota (Avalon) was 160km/h and 130km/h for the Camry. I just wasn't comfortable doing above that on a toyota since it felt a whole lot light and any little steering movement i feared, could see me in the bush ![]() But my friend says he's done 200km/h on the 2002 Avalon but for a short stretch. (he was competing with an RRS 08 and a brand new 2012 elantra; of course he stood no chance with the RRS) ![]() |
Subscribing asap!!! |
Every Year, Toyota Always Outsells Honda.
Still doesn't make Toyota look better. . . . |
When will Toyota learn how to design cars? ![]() Despite all the luxury, the CR-V stil thumps it; my opinion though |
coogar: what's the condition?Man United wins FA cup. . . . . . .and UCL ![]() |
coogar: fuck no!Oh Dear!! Ok , i oblige! on one condition though. . . . . . . |
coogar: i like the feel of the firm breasts of village maidens. majority of those brazilian blondes were men 5 years ago, so no deal!Final deal, i will import from Ikere-Ekiti, full rounded virgin maidens, all for your pleasure! |
coogar: emperoh, no escape for you this season.Duh! Like, did i promise you anything in that regard? And you want to come and corrupt and cause a paternity commotion in my country peaceful home! Fresh palmy and kolanuts (surely, u will be needing bleach for your would-ne tainted dentition) you are duly assured. But fertile virgins? There are plenty abound but I do rather import Brazilian blondes for you. Deal? ![]() |
coogar: feed me proteins so i can grow up.playing devils advocate: Regardless, the issues haven't been solved yet, have they? The EPL has been shyte this season ![]() |
StarBoard: @coogar,Bros, abeg oo, leave them two. If them tire, them go quit. As u can see, they are both laughing over it. |
Two types of people exist; those who see the glass as half full and those who see it as half empty!! |
RuuDie: I don't need any stats to tell me that DDG is an outstanding goalie. I was one of his biggest critics, but right now I can't shout. He has done more than enough to convince me he is worthy of being numero uno in UTD.... and even if he does a "Taivi" in all the remaining games of the season, he has earned the right!Pls join the crusade for the conversion of more 'lost' souls like Starboard and Elampiro. Tell them that you have 'seen' the light. Stats have refused to convert them. Tell them that DDG is on a mission to dominate EPL and that as Mancs, they should lead the crusade. Eh, what else ni? ![]() |
El Guapo: If this is your parameter for assessing what GK is better, then your premise will be that all goals conceded are Goal keeper's fault. Hence i will ask, will you consider City's defensive play and midfield to be better or worse that Man United's? El Guapo: The List goes On to have 4 More best performers in Reina, Mignolet, Begovic, Jaaskelainen before ur so acclaimed De Gea who's placed 7th with 20 goals conceded in 20 League apps, 7 Crucial saves and a total of 245 saves. Can we know who did the stats? Any links? Even Reina better that De Gea? *SMH* in pity El Guapo: If De Gea has been the best, what would Lindergard ever be doing between the sticks for u guys?Because as a Man United player, he deserves some run of game. Why didn't Fergie use Lindergard against Madrid? Chelsea? Tottenham? Sorry sir, but without looking at any stats, i have more confidence seeing DDG between the sticks than any other United keeper. El Guapo: The Spanish doughnut Criminal is still coming of age and certainly has got lots of errors attached to his game, and would even be willing to learn from the Likes of Cech - Errors, yes, everyone commits errors! But i tell you, DDG has earned us more points than loss this season. The way you guys go hyping his mistakes, it would seem like after 28 games, he's cost us 18 games. From what Elapiro posted, he's been found wanting in 3 games. . .which are debatable. . . . . . . no one is playing up his superb saves. Without DDG, we would have been out of the UCL before the 2nd leg. Chelsea would have knocked us out of the FA last sunday so what are you guys going on about? Cut the dude some slack please. Anyone who doesn't like him can decamp to Chelsea or City. For the life of me, i DO NOT BELIEVE Joe Hart is better than DDG. I even rate Hugo Lloris and Begovic ahead of him. With City's defence and defensive midfield, i wonder which GK won't do well. El Guapo: though credits to the great saves he makes at times. There are two types of supporters. Those who see the cup as half full and those who see it half empty. from the post above, we know where you belong. |
I am never into comparison with players cos i believe there are always reasons for a buy; Valencia's case inclusive. DDG has had his times, his howlers and what have you. But over any GK in the EPL, i can't have any other above him. This was the same case with Rafael, i look at his development into what he is today and realised he wouldn't have been what he is without playing time. DDG isn't bad if we must be objective. At least, looking at his performance against Real Madrid and Chelsea on Sunday, even his greates critic Starboard will agree. Top 3 in the EPL, i will rate him there. Maybe not the best yet but guys, is he good? Dude is a damn solid shot-stopper. Mata's last minute strike was a goal by any standards. How he saved it; Emperoh doesn't know!! Let's cut the guy some slack. Any objective observer will realise how much he has improved from the jittery, uncertain GK to a much confident person today. I can't imagine how much more howlers he will have but i am dead sure the superb games will be more. BTW, from statistics above, aerial duels won compared to Hart is better!! That's surprising for someone thought to be bad with aerial balls. We don't have a solid defence. If we did, we would have conceded less goals. Let's see his records against other goalies pls! |
Drawing up the 30 list to make up the 80 will be controversial if certain parameters are not established. Also new kids on the block are plenty. Lawyer, Spyder880, Starboard, Emperoh (though old members) etc.Let one of the parameters be number of meaning posts! Welcome development |
Two things matter to me; Suddenly, it is looking like Nani is the centre-point of our attack play lately. The moment he exits, all crumbles. Is Fergie's bran refusing to think or what? I can't get it! Secondly, whoever recommended the purchase of Valencia should be sentenced to life of sex with a deranged Orangutan. Valencia can't hold ball, breaks down attack can't do the simple things he knows how to do can even cross the ball any more! Oo gini!!!!!! ![]() ??Wasn't there a certain Ashley Young in our ranks? Jesus Christ!!! |
@ Emperoh You drive a hard bargain, but fair.Hopefully we will run one or two transactions this year
It has to pay all parties involved. What can i say! ![]() Looking forward to that call! |
Just thinking, how do our arguments end? I can't ever remember an argument we had with a conclusion ![]() |
@starboard. I hope you stick around and give your 2cents regularly. Try not to respond to insults etc. I know it can be annoying but it would be good to have your input and thoughts regularly. I don't get myself involved in a slanging match with anyone. I say my thoughts and keep it moving. Hope you do the same as your input in valued.
My sentiments exactly. Ignore such jejune insults. Some of us are so busy noticing such nonsense. Maturity is key to me and that basically when you ignore such things. I trust we'll sure have Starboard on ground. Missing TKB as well; that one dey do agbaya for Twitter ![]() All great to have Crizzle around. ![]() |
Afam4eva: Personally, i will rather celebrate Mothers and not women generally. The idea is to celebrate womanhood not necessarily mothers alone. The beauty of womanhood is such that can be seen just looking around. But ultimately for me, it will be to bring to the fore or rather reiterate the continuous violence against women; sexual harassment, female genital mutilation, paedophiiia, domestic violence etc. The importance if for men to kill all discriminatory tendencies against women and help promote them in the scheme of things in the society. On mother's day, we'll celebrate mother. But today, let's celebrate womanhood! |
debosky: ^^ Pray tell what certificates get issued at age 7 these days?I wouldn't know whether he meant 7 years or year 7 ![]() All join sha |
Today we celebrate an aspect of humanity which has helped to make perfect, God’s work of creation. Today we celebrate women, helpers, home makers, leaders, motivators, supporters, movers and shakers and those whose comforting words have made our earthly existence better. But specially, my heart and warm greetings go out to those who have been victims of violence, molestation, sexual harassment and any form of degradation or discrimination. It is my fervent prayer that the society becomes less accommodating to issues of feminine abuse. May all men on this day accord their wives, daughters, sisters, aunties etc the needed respect. Acknowledge their effort at making the world a complete place, at making your homes peaceful and full of love. It is also my fervent prayer that God should also bless us with the best that womanhood has to offer. They are beautiful, they are warm, they are homely, and they are women! Let us all condemn rape, sexual harassment, paedophilia discrimination or any form of violent action against women. They deserve all the respect they can get, they deserve all the love we can muster, they deserve the best that we men also enjoy. To all the women in my life; my mother, my lovely sisters, my cousins, colleagues and all my female friends, you all deserve the best. Happy international women’s day!! |
^^^^^ I guess the argument here should be my next article on The Guardian's Youth Speak back page. |
StarBoard: Sorry to seem that way.Don't take such things to heart. . . . . it is important we have differing opinions and that we recognise the need to respect such differences but not everyone appreciates that. Just overlook them, make your point and we go onto other things. Have you taken the email id? am about to take it off. |
StarBoard: It's a little bit more personal i'm afraid. . .i put this up before in the morning but removed it for personal reasons |
