chelseabmw: Be it Calculux, fhemmmy, femmy, dankiti and all.... if you post or make reference to any dealer here i will hide the post... you guys think making references will help here?Isn't what Inspired doing here amount to an advert in a resolution thread? This is not Inspired's thread and I doubt if a specific thread was set up for this car deal. So if you won't take down or hide those adverts then don't blame people for referencing other dealers. Do the needful hide those adverts as it is in an inappropriate place. Ask him to open a separate thread for it. Don't we all claim to know the rules? |
Sorry guys but I have to deviate a little here to express a few concerns I have here.....especially at moderator Chelseabmw Uboma just recommended an alternate dealer with good services and then he gets rapped and asked to stick within the ambits of the thread. Inspired goes on to advertise a job he's done and no one is asking him to open a separate thread for it? Isn't that action equal to an advert or what Uboma did by repping Calculus as a better and more reliable alternative? Is the issue non-delivery of the car or missing/non working gadgets? @Inspired Pride goes before a fall. I am one of the few premier dealers who started the auto section and made good sales rather silently. Competition was rife here then and you were one of those who broke the ceiling and shone like stars. But trust me, your services are becoming rather staid. Customer expectations are not being met and you over promise and under deliver. It is also good to note also that because of your reliability, you are able to command prices above the average here. However your responses to certain cases leave very much to be desired. A client isn't interested in where you went, you didn't need to even let him know talk less of telling us. He wants his problem according to your promises SORTED and not advertising the car you brought! No matter how beautiful and lovely the car is, you haven't given him the satisfaction. Between April and now was more than enough time to assuage this guy before he comes here. But somehow you allowed it to. Maybe it is part of the strategy but I guess you hard earned reputation is getting more bashing. Or are you not conscious of the negative pr? Mind you it is not every bad situation you can turn into good pr. You even reneged on an agreement with a client and charged more. From 40 percent to 57.7 per cent and then 150k more. The 21 days you promised were not met. The guarantees you offered were not triggered until the client complained. Whatever reason you have given, I am only asking you to please be a little more proactive rather than reactive to these issues. Yes, they are affecting our reputation as dealers here too. This is about The 3rd complaint of dissatisfaction in 4 months. Plus those that are still brewing that we may not know of. Whatever you do, do not allow your present status get in the way of delivering your brand promises. My 2 pence! |
bimbor: Hhmmmmm. How far? Your own car don show? |

samdbash: Morning Lungwan, there are some BMW mech & electricians that I've been using for about 10yrs now & they're quite reliable. They are around Gudu & u may wish to try them. Call me up on 08176317317 for directions bro...Need these contacts as well bros. |
About to test run this service. Updates coming soon!! |
More I wouldn't have bought this car if it didn't show me runs and drives I wouldn't have bought it if were salt water I wouldn't have bought it if it cost more than $3500 As long as i don't see a bad engine and transmission, i am likely to grapple with issues. It is for use in Abuja. What i need now is a good BMW tech What do you guys think? These are all the pictures i have
|
xerotop: The E46 xi has the same engine and transmission with d regular rear wheel drive. The guy who briefed me says it is scarce and costs about N700k. Now i don't know how true that is!! xerotop: I must confess u get mind. Cant venture a flooded BMW.I hope i don't regret the decision. But the price was too good to reject. The fact the owner wanted $6600 initially sought of gave me an idea the repair might have been properly done. Also, it was not salt water. I for run without looking back ![]() It is 50-50 though
|
yungboss: that's like a give away at that price, lets so the cosmetics of the car sir...Bros, i got it for personal use. This is a huge gamble for me really. But let me share the pictures and let us assess!
|
izyoku: Well in all my years of dealing with cars the one set of cars I particularly try to avoid is flooded cars. My reason you can not particularly access a flooded car to know extent of the flood-water damage unlike an accident car u can access very easily and analyse your risk. The major complication I think flooded cars have is the electrical issues and in any case that for me is the most complicated issue any nigerian car owner can gropple with. Our car electricians knowledge is just not there yet except for very few you know their work.Well, let's just say the risk was calculated to an extent. But in all, i will not buy a car of this record for a client. 2 things made me buy this car. Of course, one was pricing. I was in search for a 2003 525 and then ran into this. I ran a VIN check and there was no clear cut explanation of what happened/ I looked at it inside out and saw it has been tidied up even though it seems more cosmetic than real repair. The seller was asking for $6600 on Copart. I waited for auction and won the bid at half the price quoted. He made me 4 offer and i was not bulging. In the end he awarded me the car. At $3400?! It was a damn good buy! Saved me about $1000 from what i initially budgeted for a car. I do set that aside in case of any eventualities. Hopefully, i don't get caught up in the new automotive policy stuff. I will share pictures which will help us better analyse the situation

yungboss: hello Emperoh,E46. . . . . .can see you know this thing wella cos the XI trim, All wheel drive wasn't done with the E36. Now, are these things i am hearing about the All wheel drive true? Sneak Peeks ![]()
|
Gee2728: like you said its a risk...... some have tried and gotten away with it. just make sure u spare a 100k for the unknown. Are u in my mind? What are the likely issues i should look forward to? I will share pictures of the car once i confirm payment to Copart Finally, I had a scare. Someone warned me against buying the xi trim; All wheel drive. He says the gear is quite complicated. Not just that, it is said to be scarce and costs about N700k Can someone letter me more on this? |
yungboss: i always see au.hanson as a nice guy with a friendly disposition, gentle and humane...keep it up, a good testimony that paints your name colorful. Well done brother...Oga, i get assignment for BMW thread. Show up there sharply! |
If you love the W203 that much, why don't you go for it. In my experience, and also according to most car enthusiasts that I know, you will never be satisfied with anything outside the car you really love. Even if you do get the latest Beema!or even merc, you will always line for your W203 once you see it pass you by. As regards maintenance, I don't think there'd be much difference in running the W203 vs the E46 (depending on engine capacity) Just make sure the W203 you get is not a rust bucket as many 203s are wont to... This life na once o... ;-)
I also love the Beemer. . . . as much if not more. Why i am being swayed is that physical appeal is stronger for me. So whichever way, i am still within my preference How is the 3.0 LIter quattro treating you? ![]() |
yungboss: if I present before you an e46 330i and a w203 c320, which would you pick?I will do the W203 any day any time!! |
Can someone tell me what s really wrong about turbos? whats the fear? My understanding of turbo is that it makes the ride more efficient with greater performance even at smaller engine size. Please can someone really tell what is all these fear with turbos?
Nothing is wrong with it. . . . . . . just get a god technician to sort it out once it goes kaput and you are sorted! |
yungboss: Emperoh, thought you wanted the e46.Still in shock at the bolded!! It was the advice here that made me opt for the E39 I also loved the reviews i got online and i understand it was cheaper to keep than the E46(this is the main decider for me). If i lose this bid, which i am likely to (deliberately cos of this mileage issue) i will try an 04 E60 i just ran into. Spoke with my BMW auto technician and he insisted the cost of replacement parts won't wear me down like i feared. Whatever be the case, i am as yet to get over the elegance and appeal of the W203!! Gives me erections!! I see it in my dreams!! |
Bumped forward!!! |
We, the Audi owners feel flattered. Lol. Can see you finally decided to go Bavarian. All the best in your quest...
I used to love the A4 until i lost count of the number i entered with sagging roof and door liners. Had a nasty feel. I also loved the ambience the light gives the car. But somehow the reliability is still an issue for me. My cousin uses a 2003 1.8T passat and i know what he is facing now. By the way, i just did a Carfax check and saw last reported odometer: 200,065 Meanwhile i am seeing 77572 on the advert on Copart!! Oyibo don dey odometer roll back ooo!!! ![]() This is so displeasing!!! That's an instant turn off!!!! AccidentCheck Reported accidents: 0 Title and ProblemCheck Your vehicle checks out! Drop me your contacts thru the email on my signature. I go halla you for phone! Meanwhile, auto sales intelligence no be mechanical knowledge oo. So it means i am looking for practicability and cost effective German car which german car cheap to keep self?Anyway, i will try out that BMW and see how it goes. Won't bid more than $5000. In the mean time, drop me ya digits make i halla you ![]() |
Ok, another BMW shopper in the house. I saw this sweet looking E39 last night on Copart. it is a 530i I had wanted a 525i cos of fuel. . . . .but who can guide me, is he difference in consumption that much? I know the 525i has a consumption capacity almost that of a 4 cylinder engine. Click this link to see more on the pics and advice. http://www.copart.com/c2/homeSearch.html?_eventId=getLot&execution=e1s1&lotId=27987983&returnPage=SEARCH_RESULTS I am also put off by the fact that it was a manual drive. But that is an incentive in a way. Whatdo you guys think? I won't bid more than $5k for it. |
OP, Moderator, I was about setting up a 'situation room' but i saw this thread and thought it will suffice. However can i request that we do not make it partisan. No campaigns please!! If you have any updates and news or developments, let's drop them here and allow for a healthy debate. This is not a campaign thread and i will appreciate it if the OP and Moderator will ensure strict adherence to this. Thank you and ka Chineke gozie unu!! |
