25:13. And after some days King Agrippa and Bernice came to Caesarea to greet Festus.
25:14. When they had been there many days, Festus laid Paul’s case before the king, saying: “There is a certain man left a prisoner by Felix,
25:15. “about whom the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed [me,] when I was in Jerusalem, asking for a judgment against him.
25:16. “To them I answered, ‘It is not the custom of the Romans to deliver any man to destruction before the accused meets the accusers face to face, and has opportunity to answer for himself concerning the charge against him.’
25:17. “Therefore when they had come together, without any delay, the next day I sat on the judgment seat and commanded the man to be brought in.
25:18. “When the accusers stood up, they brought no accusation against him of such things as I supposed,
25:19. “but had some questions against him about their own religion and about a certain Jesus, who had died, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.
STUDY:

King Agrippa and his wife visited Governor Festus at Caesarea and the governor mentioned Paul’s case to the king. Governor Festus informed King Agrippa that his predecessor, Governor Felix, had handed over a prisoner, Paul, whom the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem wanted a judgment against.

However, when the accusers of Paul came, they had no tangible accusation against him than about their own religion, concerning a certain Jesus who had died, but whom Paul insisted that He still lived.


It does not matter how long people may have forgotten you. One day, God will cause men to remember you. It was the visit of King Agrippa that caused Governor Festus to mention Paul’s case.

As you serve the Lord, He will cause a royal visitor to appear on your behalf. Governor Festus’ story about Paul raised enough interest that made King Agrippa want to hear Paul tell his story.


You may be going through different difficulties in your life. Are you suffering because of some problems in your office or business? May your case be mentioned before God, the King of kings and may He grant you positive answers for all your problems. Keep trusting the Lord with all your heart (Prov. 3:5).

7:52. "Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers,
7:53. "who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept [it."]

THE MESSAGE:

On Easter Eve, Christians quietly reflect on the life, teachings, betrayal, crucifixion, death and burial of the Lord Jesus Christ. However, our text reveals how Stephen confronted the Jews, and the high priests, on their evil deeds against the Holy Spirit and the prophets, like their fathers did. Stephen also accused them of betraying and killing the Just One, Jesus Christ, and they did not keep the Law of Moses which they received. Stephen knew the Scriptures and used his knowledge of them to confront the evil doers.

Christians must be bold to challenge sinners, no matter who they are and what positions they occupy. When we confront evil doers, we should point out their specific wicked actions that are against the word of God. Do you stand on the word of God and criticise people who do evil in your home, Church and society? The Bible says that the righteous is as bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1). Be bold to speak out against all forms of ungodliness and deceitful practices such as examination malpractice, deceitful business ethics, dishonest scales (Proverbs 11:1) and maltreating the poor, the widows and orphans, their rights.

PRAYER: My righteous Father, grant me courage to speak out against the deeds of evil doers in Jesus' Name, Amen!

THE MESSAGE:

Good Friday is one significant day in the Christian Calendar as it commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and His death. It is on the occasion of today that Jesus Christ was wrongfully crucified on the cross of Calvary for an offence that He didn't commit. Why then do Christians celebrate and commemorate this day, why do we refer to the day that such an unfortunate event happened as a "good" Friday? We celebrate it because death of Jesus that God is the basis of our victory over the tyranny of Satan; what a paradox! Thus, we celebrate today by reflecting on the suffering and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary as a tool for our deliverance from the yoke of sin.

Jesus could not be stopped to die on the cross. Nothing can stop Jesus from fulfilling His ministry in the lives of those who seek Him. Are you carrying a load of sin or suffering from a sickness or a demonic attack? This is the very reason Jesus died; just come to Jesus today and receive forgiveness, healing and deliverance (Matthew 11:28). Believe in the unstoppable Jesus and find rest for your life.
