Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation.
K-1
Slightly faster arrival in the US (currently about 5 months sooner)
More expensive than CR-1
Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)
Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 5-6 months)
Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 5-6 months)
Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period
Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.

CR-1
Slightly slower arrival in the US (currently about 5 months later)
Less expensive than K-1
No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival. 
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport.
Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

For your medicals, you are to go with your International passport, interview confirmation printout, letter from NVC that shows your case number, small sized passport photo.

Most medicals don't require an appointment. A simple walk in is okay. You might need to call in advance to be sure of the exact passport photo dimension.

Blood samples and urine samples will be taken. Also you'll be given some immunisation shots. Other tests that will be done are eye vision test, blood pressure measurement, height, weight, etc. You'll also see a doctor at the end. He will take your medical history and do some medical examination. By and large, its usually a routine without much issue. However if the person has an infectious disease, then that disease has to be treated first before they can forward your report to the embassy. The number of B1/B2 visa rejections has no effect in your K1 visa application. All they want to know is if your relationship is genuine. Once you guys have evidence to show that then you are good.

Medical was done on 10th December and medical updated to passed on 17th December 2018.

Since then no update. I sent mail to both London and Lagos. London replied asking me to use the Webform so the office handling my file will see my enquiry. I used the webform to send a reminder. I received a mail from IRCC that my file is in Nairobi and I should mail them as well.

To cut the story short. I sent a gentle reminder to Nairobi twice buh no response. Which was on 26th & 27th December 2018. On 4th January 2019, I received Biometric validity correspondence and today 5th January PPR dropped and my application was also approved!

A lot of us kinda outgrow the thread (I will too soon), but I just feel we all should create time to help one another scale what is in my opinion the most difficult hurdle of this process - the VISA hurdle.

I attended orientation today and the number of asians that are resuming school were way more than half (they move together in groups and speak their language at will). Anyways, bottom line is that we Nigerians can and should put conscious effort into helping one another to get TRVs.

A little bit about life in Canada may help some of us on the thread make smart decisions about pursuing this whole thing. Because some are actually better of elsewhere, as not everyone's success is tied to Canada.

I very importantly have to say a very big thank you to a member of this forum, cocosmite. I reached out to him before I left Nigeria and he has been of tremendous help to me. Brother actually cooked and brought home cooked meal for me at the airport! Allowed me stay in his apartment for three days, and helped me settle in! Some angels live among us people. They breathe air like you and I (some even like girls with big bum-bum ) but they are nothing short of angels. I am really grateful.

So I guess we all catch the message, let's help and continue to help one another, keep the cycle going and all.

please how safe is this, I was denied July 2018 and deferred and replied and denied again in December 2018 with the same school, no standardized tests was required, I informed the school, they have promised to offer me fresh admission 2019 and has moved my admission to Fall 2019.

my question is, should I accept the school admission and proceed to the embassy for Fall 2019 with same school. making it the third time with the same school, is this a red flag? how safe will this be for me, or I'm contemplating to be safer for me, I should apply for a fresh admission from a fresh school, please from your experiences, I do kindly need your all your advice, suggestions and contributions, thanks in advance.
