Celebrities / Re: Which Celebrity Would You Marry If You Had The Opportunity? by Engineer96(m): 8:05pm On Jan 23, 2013
Serena Williams.
Every thing about her is attractive to me. Her physique, complexion. In fact anything about her appears to be the best.
My wife once complained that I used her as my screensaver but I couldn't help it.
Nairaland / General / Re: Nairaland End Of Year Charity Flight..... by Engineer96(m): 10:12pm On Jan 21, 2013
I am not impressed.
NL members can do much more better than this. We can call for a free will donation and supply different bank account numbers.
We can make it better.
Thanks for the effort.
Nairaland / General / Re: Thank You For Making Nairaland Forum Great (My Message To 1 Million Members) by Engineer96(m): 5:57pm On Jan 20, 2013
Dear Seun,
thank you for creating a forum like this for us.
My advice to you is that you should never be contented with how nairaland is. Always try to improve and make it better. This will make NL more attractive and in tune with the ever changing technology.
I also wish to advise that you should make NL more liberal by allowing all sheds of opinion so that members can freely express their views instead of banning and hidding different posts. Don't let NL be like the government subdued Nigeria press. With this, we can freely express and see the expression of Nigerians on topical issues. It is understood that none of the opinions is expressed by you but by Nigerians according to their feeling and their thinkings. With this, NL will be more vibrant and peoples views are known. It is a free world. It is for own good.
I am happy to be a member of NL even at this moment.
Once more, thank you.

Dear Seun,
I thank u for creating a forum like this for us.
I wish to advise you not to leave nairaland the way it is. Don't be contented with the way it is. Always try to improve it and make better.
I am glad to have been a member of NL even at this moment.
Once again, than you.
Politics / Re: January 24 Declared Holiday For Eid-el-maulud by Engineer96(m): 8:19pm On Jan 19, 2013
For me I have a problem with all these islamic public holidays.
Islam we christians were told is a religion of peace but what we are seeing is a different thing.
I had expected them to use all these public holidays to sue for peace, preach peace and shield their sword.
I had expected them to reflect on the havoc they have caused this country and other countries of the world and try to prove us wrong.
To me, islam is a blood sucking religion and I want them to challenge me and probably prove me wrong otherwise, my view and the negative view of most christians about muslims hold
let them amend their ways.

Education / Re: UNILAG Postpones Convocation As Jonathan Insists On Name Change by Engineer96(m): 7:42pm On Jan 17, 2013
Jonathan, as the president of the country, is the visitor to the university, has the right to change the name of any federal university in Nigeria.
Going to court by MAULAG alumi was a great mistake as they cannot fight the president successfuly in a country like Nigeria, where the president is too powerful.
This court case, as long as it lasts, can paralyse many activities of the school and adulterate others. The appointment of a new chancelor will be for MAULAG and it is the president that will make the appointment.
To the federal ministry of education, it is now known as MAULAG.
This fight against the president cannot take them to any where and so I suggest they withdraw the case and maybe go back to court when Jonathan leaves.
Politics / Re: Fulani And Eggon Riot In Bassa, Nasarawa State by Engineer96(m): 2:02am On Jan 11, 2013
This is one of the legacies of Othman Danfodio who has been immortalized in Nigeria.
I wish to suggest that the Fulani herdsmen should be restricted to their home states and given some parcel of land to graze on which they must not step out of.
They can't try it here in the east, otherwise, they will be wiped out and that their cows will turn to ours.
Nuisance.
Education / Re: FEC Approves 3 New Universities For Northern Nigeria by Engineer96(m): 8:43pm On Jan 09, 2013
There are things that you don't play politics with. One of them is education. Why site a university where the demand for education is very poor. BH, which most northerners are sympathetic to, says western education is evil, which implies that most northerners agree to that. Why not establish a quranic school for them.
Basic economics teaches us that supply should be increased when demand increases so as to balance or nil off the excess demand..
Check the number of candidates from these 3 northern states that apply for WAEC and NECO and eventually apply for admission into the universities through JAMB and compare this figure with the candidates from either Imo, Enugu or Anambra state.
I believe that these figures from these organisations would have been key determining factor when siting a university but in this case, it is political considerations.
When will this stop?

Politics / Re: Governor Obi Apprehends Tanker Driver Over Traffic Offence by Engineer96(m): 4:24am On Jan 09, 2013
Onitsha drivers are too uncultured.
Worst amongst them are coaster drivers. They don't care. They drive anyhow, negotiate a u-turn anywhere.
It is a general madnes and this has to stop.
The tanker driver was just unlucky. I wish it was a coaster driver so that it can send a message to others.
Politics / Re: Ahmadu Ali Is The New PDP BoT Chairman by Engineer96(m): 4:09am On Jan 09, 2013
You can't just wish Obj away.
His boys are too much. The senate president is his boy and is very strong so also most BOT members.
Asari Dokubo saw this earlier and warned Jonathan that without Obj, 2015 presidential ambition would be a mirage..
Jonathan should know where Obj has interest and should quietly let that be.
That man still calls the shot in Nigeria politics today. The earlier Jonathan realises this, the better for him.
Politics / Re: Sokoto, Katsina Top List Of Poor States... by Engineer96(m): 4:43am On Jan 08, 2013
It is absurd that the north after ruling the country for over four decades still rate highest in poverty level in Nigeria.
What if it had been the north that was impoverished by the Biafran war? They would have not found their feet by now. This is too bad to note.
Uwa n'eme ntughari.
Politics / Re: Sokoto, Katsina Top List Of Poor States... by Engineer96(m): 4:20am On Jan 08, 2013
I find it difficult to to believe the posts of some supposedly educated members of NL.
Our country's bureau of statistic released some figures about our country and all we can do is to question the source of the data, condemn the figures as non-reliable and even the chief statistician is being abused.
If these figure had come from US or UK, most of us would have believed it without questioning the source of their data and that explains why someone quoted world Bank.
It's horrible. Why not work with the figure that we have. At least, our NBS know Nigeria more than US and the UK. Dr Yale, I don't know him or where he is from, was appointed by the president and confirmed by the senate.
Even our FG. When the figure favours them, they will be quick in accepting it but reject and condemn it when it does not favour them.
To me, this is what we should work with until we have a contrary figure and based on this, we should find ways of reducing the poverty and unemployment rate in the country.
I can't believe that Edo state after being governed by a labour leader for years is one of the states with the highest unemployment rate. It shows that Nigeria problem is hydra-headed.

Romance / Re: When A Girl Is Saying No But Her Actions Is Saying Yes by Engineer96(m): 11:29pm On Jan 05, 2013
Telling you no but her action are contrary, then go for her.
That shows a girl that is trying to respect herself and who wants to understand u and your seriousness.
One of my lecturers once told us a story about his wife.
Toasted the girl for sometime ( grany now) but she was telling him no but was busy writing (yes, I love u) something contrary with one of her toes.
This went on for some time because my lecturerer was busy waiting for her to tell him yes, until one day, she told my lecturer that he was not observant. She requested that he go back to where they met the previous day and check the ground where she stood.
My man went and saw what was written for him and ran home prepared within one month and married his wife.
To me action speaks louder than voice.

Politics / Re: FG To Tackle JAMBS Another Boko-Haram Group by Engineer96(m): 10:42pm On Jan 05, 2013
My problem with these terror groups is that they don't have any defined objective. Neither do they have defined leadership. And this one of my problems with the north, especially muslims there.
Doing things blindly. While I am aspiring to go to Havard Business School for my MBA, someone is aspiring to die for no just cause. Too bad.
BH wants to negotiate but what does it want to negotiate? After making Maiduguri and other parts of north a shadow of themselves?
JAMBS has come up to fight France- a European country in Nigeria-an African country. This is absurd.
However, I blame the elites in the north for all these.
Crime / Re: Nigerian Student Commits Suicide In India by Engineer96(m): 10:25pm On Jan 05, 2013
Police preliminary investigation says it could have resulted from depression. How did they arrive at that conclussion? By asking neighbours that might be responsible for his death. This is why I like CIA.
This issue of Nigerians going to everywhere to study should be stopped. Indians are not better than we are just that our government are not doing anything about our educational system and our private universities in high school fees.
Too bad for us.
RIP Kevin

Politics / Re: The Most Respected & Honoured Man In Nigeria Currently by Engineer96(m): 9:18pm On Jan 05, 2013
@OP
your post is misleading.
In different fields, different Nigerians are well respected.
In business, Aliko Dangote, Otunba Mike Adenuga etc,
in politics, undoutedly, Obj- like him or not, Raji Fashola; NOI,
in social critic, there are Senior Advocate of the People ( Femi Falana),Pat Utomi, Tunde Bakare and co, in academics, Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka etc, in religion, you see Jonathan kneelling before Adeboye and most northerners honouring the sultan as if he is the God and so on.
In these fields, different people have different respects for different people. E.g, in politic, Obj takes the lead while in entreprenurialship, Aliko Dangote takes the lead. So, in politics, Dangote bows before OBJ while in business Obj honour Dangote.
In academics, Obj cannot stand Chinua Achebe in terms of honour and that can be viewed, partly, why he turned Obj's national honours down. Do u know that most VCs, if not all, honours Wole Soyinka and Achebe much more than they respect any poltician and even business icon like Dangote?
In essence, it all depend on which area you are looking at.

Crime / Re: Ever Been Interrogated By Nigerian Police? Share Your Experience. by Engineer96(m): 2:46pm On Dec 31, 2012
I have never and will never volunteer any info for the police.
I will never give any evidence to them, even if I have. I will never accept to serve as a witness to the police unless I am to testify against the Nigerian Police or it is CIA or FBI but definitely not for NPF.
Those people were not trained. Too corrupt.
I pray, I will not have any issue with them. They are my first enemy in Nigeria.
Beware of them.

Crime / Re: Us-based Nigerian Economist Killed In Enugu by Engineer96(m): 8:00pm On Dec 30, 2012
I belive that there is an insider in this who knows this man. What is my hometown, Aku Diewa turning into?
We are not known with this.
I believe the insider is not from Aku.
He is not so rich, not so educated, not so bad in character when compared to other Aku sons and daughters and so why would any Aku man or woman want him dead? Definitely, the insider must have been from outside Aku.
He is an economist but we have medical doctors from Aku based in US, Engineers, lawyers, even professors in these fields even from the Edoga family.
The informant must have been from outside Aku. We don't kill our brothers and that is why we are progressing.
Aku Diewa........Aha nnanyi ka 'nyi ji aga.

Seun,
when and where are we going to have a party to celebrate this feat?
This is not a one-man effort. All of us here on this forum are stakeholders and deserve to be appreciated, if not celebrated.
Most of us invest our resources just to make nairaland attractive and inviting.
Remember, nairaland could not have been what it is today without we-the contributors.
