Filter, pump, fuel pressure regulator, fuel line, clogged injectors. These are the most probable causes from your buru buru description (fuel starvation). There are other causes. The best approach is scanning and doing computer diagnosis first but I assumed that you wanted to do a DIY (do it yourself) thing. Regards. Finelinks: |

I advise that you should drive the car with that thud you hear. It can damage it. The cause might be a worn clutch or brake, worn valve body component(s), wrong or bad fluid, faulty solenoids, wiring and so on. The best is to give you a thorough remote support. You can contact any expert on nairaland or chat me up on 08030420562. You may also want to meet different auto experts on this whatsapp group : https:///IRsk25wDUHK590gFcte5OH At best, visit any of the good mechanics here for thorough diagnosis. Regards. |
I have a feeling that he was driving a camry hybrid with a faulty brake actuator or stroke sensor, disengaged front brakes, unequal brakes pressure to the rear, and then attempted to brake suddenly on a speed that is not low. |
Check the fuel supply. |
5W50, 15W50, 20W50. |
SUVs (Jeeps) relatively don't have good fuel economy including RX300. |

You can diagnose this kind of issue better with a multimeter/Clamp meter. |
Hahahaa... What a country. Harrymig1: |
And that was how I boarded a bus at Iwo road park in Ibadan. We set out and within seconds, I realized that I was in a sick vehicle. Shortly we passed the road safety marshals check point and as usual, they don't bother commercial vehicles. Our highest speed was in the vicinity of 65km/hr from my judgement and even the trucks were overtaking. That itself was risky. No single guage in that car works, not even the coolant temperature guage. After Oyo, the storm and then rain started and behold the wiper wasn't functional. Again, the driver doesn't utilize the side mirrors well before attempting to change lane. On few occasions, vehicles behind had to be defensive in their driving else we could have hit them. By God's mercy and grace, we arrived safely. But what I care to know is; who have we offended in this country that nothing seems to work? |
There are quite a number of things that can cause a car to go off when it is coming to a stop ranging from a faulty transmission lock up solenoid to a bad crankshaft position sensor e.t.c. zevous: |
Try reliable computerized wheel balancing with a competent operator, check for suspension components and hub for play. Such causes resonance at certain speeds. |
On point. greenhulk: |
Is it belt driven? If it is, it is likely that a belt driven FSI engine was planted there as a replacement for a chain driven TSI engine. You may snap your engine bay and place here. |
When sticking with manufacturer recommendation of very low viscosity grade of oils like this, ensure you stick with VERY TOP QUALITY FULL SYNTHETIC oils. Else, use 5W30 Synthetic especially if you drive under high speed and load. |
It is a good car. Poster above is correct. Patronize only competent electricians and use ONLY manufacturer specified fluids. |
The best way to go is onboard diagnosis. |

Thermocool generators are good. They use quality copper for their generator windings and their performance matches their specified load rating. |
homeboy205:Why not? Please do. |
Very informative. I just want to add that tires have recently become more reliable especially when compared to tubed tires. |

opomulero:I am very sorry for not responding to this post. I have been away for a long time. Let me assume that I know where your question is heading. It is not a good oil for recent engines. Use it only when you have exhausted every available less viscous oil and you still need to keep the car running with that engine at that time, especially when the engine is sludged and/or leaks oil. Regards. |

Start with the advice of the poster above. |
I know, that's why I said "from my experience". Another person can have a different experience. I don't also drive the older one as hard as the 2006 generation because of handling... greenhulk: |
youngchopper:Yes, but marginal. For example, you use the expensive T IV ATF for 2006 model while you use dexron III for the 1999 model. The 2006 is more powerful, handles better, has a very good turn radius relative to the 1999 model. 2006 has a 3.3L engine while 1999 has a 3.0L engine. From my experience, 2006 is slightly more thirsty. I still wish to remind you that if fuel economy will be a concern, don't go for the car but it is powerful, fun to drive, spacious, comfortable and reliable. The advantage I see 1999 model have over 2006 is a dash fascia that last, but surely, there will be others. EngRichie Automobile Help Desk 08030420562. |
