Check the gear lever/selection cable adjustment.

Do continuity test on injector 1 circuit first. If I am the technician, I will open the ECU and look out for weak solder before resorting to ECU replacement.

Firstly, check fluid level then go ahead with other diagnosis.

Maybe the technician is using a trial and error approach (everybody does that to an extent anyway).
You need a good computerized diagnosis.

The poster above might be right but I doubt whether thorough diagnosis was done. They should have been able to point at a particular fault.

Those transmissions do not require guess work. Both theory and good practical skill need to be employed to fix them.

Let a mechanic check the fluid level first then check for other possible causes.

My gearbox was licking oil and I went to a mechanic, they told me that is from the gearbox pump which i changed and it was moving fine. as i was driving, I slow down at a police check point. And when i tried to accelerate it was not driving. But it reverse.
Please what could be the cause?

Check gear mounts, go check suspension and wheel alignment too. It might sound weird though..

You may have had issues with the clutch or bands.

It could have been an electrical wiring issue too. This type of fault requires solenoid logic (of the particular car) studying.

I agree with you. I appreciate the role nairaland has played over the years. I have learnt many things and I have also shared my knowledge too. Nigeria actually need other forums to compliment nairaland not necessarily to compete with it. Some other countries have forums that are very active near hundreds in number and there is no bad competition.

The problem is when people build things to compete so someone might build what look or performs as a clone of nairaland.
