My opinion as per whether the gospel is hidden in the old testament is , it is not hidden in the old testament.
My reasons are as follows:

The gospel is the good news about the arrival of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. The gospel means to tell someone or people that death of Jesus has reconciled us to God.
It means an attainment of an end.

The old testament on the other hand was a means to an end. A process to get us to be reconciled to God. It means the awaiting of the arrival of the messiah.

It is like a traveller planning to go to Israel. The preparations to purchase ticket , obtain Visa ,secure acomodation etc has not taken him to Israel , but a means to get hin to Israel. The old testament is like that.

To conclude that the traveller was in Israel when he was in Nigeria because he had already gotten the plan to go to Israel is wrong. Purchasing travelling ticket , getting Visa and so on would not make him to be counted among those in Israel at that particular time.

If the gospel is hidden in the old old testament , then those old testament saints would go to heaven, but the Bible tells otherwise.

Secondly on whether people of the old testament were saved with everlasting salvation ? I will also say NO.

Reasons. :
If it were possible for those people in the old testament to be saved with everlasting salvation based on their righteousness , their would not have been need for the coming of the Messiah , Jesus Christ. His death would not have been necessary.

Their personal righteousness was nothing b4 God. That was why David said in :

There are inherited sins and personal sins. The inherited sin dated back to the time of Adam. The personal sins starts from you. The righteousness of the people of the O. T .were counted for them based on their personal life style and relationship with God. But the sins their ancestors committed plus that of Adam is what makes their righteousness like filthy rags. Without the death of Christ they also would die for the sinns of their ancestors :

Without the fall of Adam and Eve there wouldn't have been anything called religion. The curse of God on Adam makes everyone on earth prone to the attacks of Satan.
It was that sin that separated Man from God his Creator. This made Adam and his discendants living during the time of Noah to seek way to communicate with God. But unfortunately , Satan that deceived them did not leave them alone. Satan and his demons made the people of old to worship him and other demons. There 4 , the first form of religion was idolatry and witchraft. Thus, witchcraft brought wickedness and all the woes to the world and made man to be suffering contrary to God's wishes.

God began his ways of saving mankind ,after Noah ,by calling Abraham .

God told Abraham that his plan of salvation is through Isaac and not Ishmael , the founder of Arabia or the ancestral father of the Arabs.

Satan is always trying to disrupt God's plan. God new this so He told Abraham to send Ishmael away because His plan of Salvation is with Isaac and not Ishmeal.

This is exactly in line with the prayer of Jesus to God in the garden of Gethsemane when he asked for this “cup of condemnation” to be taken away from him in THREE consecutive times as stated clearly in Matthew 26:36-44.ln fact, Bible confirmed that this very prayer of Jesus was answered by God :During the day of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission (Hebrew 5:7NIV).If this prayer of Jesus was only heard but not answered by God as some Christians use to claim, then the phrase “because of his reverent submission” in the verse quoted above would no longer have any reasonable meaning. In fact, the King James Version of the Bible ends this verse with “and was heard in that he feared (Hebrew 5:7KJV).Of course, what Jesus feared was death on the cross. Hence, if Jesus was heard in that he feared, this implies that he escaped death on the cross. Therefore, an illogical and contradictory concept of "a merciful God who could not see any other way of saving those who believe in Him except to curse an innocent and righteous soul on the cross at Calvary" is completely far away from the truth.
The fact that the Holy Qur’an is the only religious book on earth that remove this negative and bad impression about God from the minds of the general humanity is a very great indicator that the book could never have come from no other person except God Himself.

There are so many reasons for you to know that Islam is false and Muhammed is a false prophet.

1- From the biginning of Islam the Quran was not called Holy Quran but Al - Quran. It is because the Bible is called Holy Bible, you Muslims started to call Al Quran , holy Quran.
The content of Quran shows there is nothing holy about it.
Ex . How can a Holy God tell Muhammed to marry his adopted son's wife b4 the wife was divorced? Is that holy?

2 - Allah is a failure. He did not remember what he told Moses to write in Deu.21:23. that "cursed is anyone that is hanged on a tree". He later remember and ther4 had to send Muhammad who will not be hanged on a tree but will die of poison.
Allah did not know that sending his Isa will amount to nothing. Allah should have sent Muhammed b4 sending his Isa to avoid hanging an innocent person on the cross to replace his Isa. There wouldn't have been need for Muhammad to be killing the Christiansand all these confusion.

3- The original always comes first 4 the fake. The bible came first b4 Quran , that makes the Quran a fake book.
Muhammad had to copy the stories of the prophets in the Bible into the Quran because he had a copy of the Bible with him.

Some people suggested the use of a bell like the Christians, others proposed a trumpet like the horn used by the Jews, but 'Umar was the first to suggest that a man should call (the people) for the prayer; so Allah's Apostle ordered Bilal to get up and pronounce the Adhan for prayers.

The Muslims wanted to use bell or trumpet but decided to used ordinary mouth. It was not even the command of Allah because he knows nothing, he was just trying to set up his religion where people will worship him like the Christians and Jews worship God the Creator of the demon Allah and Allat.

The Prophet came to Medina and saw the Jews fasting on the day of Ashura. He asked them about that. They replied, "This is a good day, the day on which Allah rescued Bani Israel from their enemy. So, Moses fasted this day." The Prophet said, "We have more claim over Moses than you." So, the Prophet fasted on that day and ordered (the Muslims) to fast (on that day).
