Thanks ma AlphaHandMaiden: Ha ha ha !
i think she has just realised she has another appendage other than her hands. when my DD discovered her feet! we will find that the feet of her onsies were soaking wet from saliva! so we started wearing her socks as that was easier to change. i think she got bored after a while and stopped. sure it will be the same too for your baby. just remove her feet from her mouth when you see her do it. not sure there is much more you can do. it is unlikely to form into a habit like finger sucking. |

Sansa143: Evening all, hope we n lo's are doing grt dis evening!I have three questions, pls sabi mamas help a ftm! What is colic? What causes it? How dos one knw if baby is having colic and wat can one do abt it? Enque Jazzy N oda sabi mamas help out! I was tempted to say Google it....lol Anyways I didn't experience colic that much with my DD, but from what I hav heard and read, I fit explain small. When ur baby cries uncontrollably for no reason....the cries could last for a long time (google says it cld b up to 3 hours). My mum says its baby having stomach ache because of their immature digestive system and it now makes some babies cry uncontrollably. She also mentioned sometin about the healing navel contributin to it.... Honestly I don't even know how to know when baby is being colicky asides from d excessive crying episodes (which cld also be as a result of wet diapers, heat or some sorta discomfort d baby is feeling) but there was something my mum always did to my Dd every evening....She lay her face down on her chest, she said it has a way of soothing the 'stomach pain' and my DD slept peacefully in DT position.... As per what to do about colic- Like I said earlier there 2 options- Wait it out or give drugs (infacol, nospamin, gbomoro, gripe water). My paed warned against giving drugs, she said a colicky baby can be stressing to cater to but we should wait it out patiently. Once they get t 3 months, it all goes away. Nne I hope I haven't confused u join, na wetin I know I tell u o. But meanwhile, babies differ o...so no go find colic where e no de |

berra: Hello mamas. Please help! My 2weeks old son is having colic. What can I use for him please, he looks so much in pain when it hits him. U have 2 options ; A- Don't give drugs, try some natural remedies and wait it out...(colic stops at 3 months) B - Give drugs and see if it works. I didn't give any drugs cos my DD didn't have very serious colic. I just waited it out. Congrats n kisses to ur lo |

rofemiguwa: Doesn't really follow.my foodie dd was exclusively fed.i tink it depends on the child. Hotmomma u gat to try n find out wat he likes.there must be one of the food he takes with little struggle compared to others u have to turn to jackie chan to feed him.
What i noticed is not every baby likes sweet food.till tomorrow my dd will never take banana or sweet potatoes. So i give bland fruits.u need to see her licking agbulomo like dis eh!.
Jus watch him.he might struggle but he will definitely take some better than others. Also u have to be patient while feeding.one spoon allow to rest another. U can also play songs he might like while feeding. U can also try making his food little at a time.i dont feed my baby more than 120ml of food at a time but she eats up to 6 to 8 times per day.
She has short attention span.if u make her food bigger.u go chop the remaining. meanwhile she will disturb u in an hr or 2 again o.
Just find out wat works for him.all the best. My DD does this a lot while breastfeeding. Any little noise, she go just comot mouth for bre.ast to look in the direction of the noise, and most times ...that's the end of the feeding session. So I always try to b.feed in a very quite place so she can stay for a longer period. |

hunniesuzie: Chai. I'm not looking forward to this thing at all. He's been with my mum but she has to go back home month end. The crèche I picked is closer to home so I can't pop in. Right now I bf till I leave home at 6, then he takes formula at 8/9. Breastmilk around 12, formula at 3 then I get home about 5:30 to breastfeed till morning. So I'll prep only 1 breastmilk bottle for crèche everyday. The rest is formula my creche is 10mins from my office... we bf in the morning b4 i drop her off at the creche around 7.30 ish. from 7.30 till my breaktime (any 1hr between 12 and 2pm) - formula, My 1hr break - brea..stmilk and playtime After my break till 4pm (closing time) - formula from 4pm till the next morning - Bre..astmilk That's our routine. She takes 3 rounds of formula feeding while i'm away at work. My DD will be 6months in 2 week's time...yaaay! I'll stop the break time bre..astfeeding once she is 6 months, and limit it to just morning and night when we are home. It may feel stressful at first, but with time you'll get used to it. |

She takes 3 bottles of formula between 8am and 4pm, and I go to the creche to breastfeed her during my break. |

Nemzy: Hello experienced mamas, please help a ftm. I just realized that my DD hasn't been given Rotavirus vaccine at the health centre we use. She is 12weeks and 3days. I'm being told it's not free and only available at some hospitals. My questions are 1. Is it too late for her to get the shots? 2. If she can still take it, which hospitals around Yaba have it? 3. Please any idea of the price range so I'm prepared. Thanks Mamas
Please dont ignore price range should be between 7k - 10k |

olamitie: thanks for the response.like 100-150ml each.cant really predict the exact quantity she eats but she finished 60mls the one time i tried to be sure she will suck from bottle. will be picking her up by 3pm for now What Kind of soap is used in washing babys bottle.me FTM sabi ask question For me, I pack like 6-7 bottles in my DD's creche bag, so that they don't have to bother washing and re-using. I politely told them not to wash the bottles so that it's not too much stress on them . So once they use a bottle, they put it in a separate bag and take a fresh bottle for the next feed. so far, so good......It's been fine and We haven't had any hygiene issues. Once I get home I soak the bottles in warm water, wash and sterilise overnight till the next morning and then I pack her bags again. It was stressful for me when I started, but now it's just one of those routine things. I also have a sterilising unit that stays permanently in the creche, which is where the nanny puts the unused bottles. For washing baby bottles, I use SUNLIGHT washing up liquid. It actually foams a lot so I have to rinse the bottles well with cold water and then one final time with hot water. This is my own creche 'modus operandi' |

sugah: Discussion Monday!!! Topic: Effective family planning options.
So I had to take out my IUCD for the second time cos my body kept expelling it into my cervix. My doc now recommends the arm implant which I'm against cos I heard it causes weight gain. Condom? Bleh!!! Mentioned ocp to my doc and he said it'll fail and I'd get pregnant. Now I'm seriously considering Billings method
Any success stories on billings method? My mum mentioned this billings method in the course of our discussion this weekend. She says there is a higher success rate for those who have the 28 days regular cycle, and that if you have irregular cycle or less than 28 days, it may be a bit difficult. |

dharyor1234: I'm a new comer here
You can officially call me a mum, glory be to God
Please i do have some questions
1. is it normal for baby to have regular and frequent hiccups? Frequent hiccups is normal with babies, there is really nothing you can do about it .
2. my baby's leg used to twitch or shake a times, i hope this is not an issue?
3. Also He has a lot of rashes on his face and it kinda reddish. we've been using agnesia powder but it is not clearing out, what can be done to clear it? It will clear out with time.
4. what can I do to get back my pre-pregnancy stomach after 3wks of C-section, cos i'm scared it might not go back to normal. It took 9 months for your tummy to go through pregnancy and all, so pls take it easy on yourself. You can start some simple exercises after your 6 weeks check, to be sure your incision has healed externally. Snap-back after CS isn't always as easy as VD, so take it easy on yourself.
N.B I use Johnsons soap on him I dont use any cream on him cos i'm scared it might turn him to blackky especially sheabutter
His body is very smooth except for the face |

hunniesuzie: See let me advise you. If you're going to invest in an electric pump, close your eye (squeeze it very tight oh) and buy Medela. I bought a Lansinoh from jumia for 30k plus and the thing packed up in less than a month, I'm still dragging for my money. I respected myself and went to get the Medela that they had advised me to buy before aroro hooked me. Otherwise just be doing your manual pumping jeje (Avent has a good manual pump). Let other mamas chook mouth sha, maybe they've had a better experience with other electric brands
For formula I was told to buy Nan from the hospital and we've been taking it with no issues for the past 3 months. Jumia and the crap they sell. I bought Lansinoh double electric pump when I put to bed in December 2016 and it's still perfect till date..... I got from their Nigerian distributors in Lagos at 39k. |

1. Wash grains and soak for 2-3days 2. Send to the grinder and blend 3. Add more water and sieve 4. Allow the fine particles to settle by day break 5. Your pap is ready for use
for me, I go an extra step by sun drying and then I blend it to fine powder and store.
Voila ! thanks ma... when do u sun dry? after the particles settle? |
