Business › Re: Government Money Wrongly Sent To An Individual Account. Advise? by eodavids(m): 4:58pm On May 09, 2021 |
Whizzdom: On Sunday, last two weeks my mom got a bank alert notification, someone sent her 3 million naira, she wasn't expecting money from anyone.
She was shocked, she called I and my younger sister. We couldn't believe it, so we waited for three days to see if the bank will reverse the money, they didn't, so I and my sister took our mom's ATM card to withdraw and test if the money was genuine.
We bought three phones from it. That's when we believed it was real. Then I transferred #50,000 to my bank and transferred #50k into my mom's other account which we used for foodstuffs.
On the fifth day the bank froze the remaining balance of the huge money sent. But no bank official or staff called my mom. That week passed, on the 3rd day of the second week, one lady called my mom by phone in the afternoon, she said her name is Sarah from so so bank.
My mom is not literate so they spoken in pidgin, she told my mom that she knows that my mom received a #3mil last two weeks and she has spent out of it. That the money was government money. Sarah told my mom to go to any nearest ........bank and write a mandate letter authorizing the bank to unfreeze the remaining #2mil in her acct and the bank will give us the beneficiary account which she will send the money back to. And we should return the money we spent out of it immediately.
When we got to my mom's bank, we went to customer agent area, instead of writing the mandate letter, we told the agent everything that happened leaving nothing untouched. the agent said we should give him the number of the staff that called us, when he called the Sarah with his phone, Sarah gave him another name, instead of introducing herself as Sarah, she said her name is Evelyn. She now told the agent to hold my mom down till she (Evelyn) gets to that bank to arrest my mom or whatever.
The agent said on what basis would he hold my mom down. The agent checked the description when the money was sent and he couldn't understand the description. He was saying how could this be government money. He told my mom to try and return the money spent and he told us to go.
The description on the transfer when it came in on Sunday was: "National Procurement of Scanners" #3million.
Is this truly a government money?
Nairalanders what are your opinions? Because my mom is scared, Sarah or Evelyn bullied her on the phone with jail time.
I don't know what to do. Simple Solution Get a lawyer and brief him on the matter. Your mom committed no crime. She was on her own when money came into her account. She had wanted to seek for avenue of borrowing money from wherever, then the money came in, so she used part of it to solve her pressing problems. So, in as much as your mom did not claim ownership of the money, she has committed no offence. Let her promise to pay the spent part when she gets it. Even the courts will understand that a woman spent part of money kept in her custody and promised to pay back when she gets it. NB: that Sarah or Evelyn is not to be trusted. EFCC must be involved before the remaining money will be send to any person or entity. GET A LAWYER. THAT'S MY INITIAL WORDS. |

There is lots of corruption going on under the acclaimed agric loans of the federal government. Currently, there are many Nigerians receiving alerts on loans given in their names. These includes alerts of credits and then of debits from an account opened with their names, bvn and phone numbers as the alert no. BUT THEY COULD NOT ACCESS THE MONEY NOR THE ACCOUNT. It is a pitiable experience. The height of corruption. Nigerians are wicked against their fellows. You are correct. My spouse suffered of the same experience and it's painful. After paying required fees to access agric loan, her name and bvn was used to open an account with which loan(s) were granted and she only received alerts of withdrawals... |
Webmasters › Re: Differences Between A Website, A Blog, And A Forum by eodavids(m): 6:21pm On Mar 25, 2021 |
temitayo315: Blogs, forums, and websites are somehow synonymous but taking a good look at them, you can always differentiate them from their content. If you are familiar with the internet or you are good at surfing through the internet, you probably might have heard about Blogs or websites. Is there really a difference?
BLOG
Think of a blog as a diary where you write and keep every of your thoughts. Something comes to your mind and you just open your diary and pen it down.
This illustration describes a blog post. It is a means where you share something or a passion online for people to read and learn.
A blog usually has an author often referred to as a blogger. Bloggers are often in control of every content on their blog which can be in form of text, images, audios, videos, and links to other online resources.
A blog is usually for profit making. In other words, people blog in other to generate profit (money making).
Blogs are generally written in an informal or conversational manner whereby comments/discussions or questions are welcomed from the audience.
WEBSITE websites are majorly developed to provide information and not to engage in discussion.
It is usually formal or written in a professional way. Most website content are static (meaning its content may not change compare to blog sites).
Examples of website are Amazon.com, Jumia.com, or any school website where you get information about registrations, admissions, payments e.t.c.
Websites usually belong to cooperate organizations, companies, businesses & industries, schools, and government agencies, unlike blogs which may be owned by one individual.
Although the line between a blog and a website is very thin, you can always differentiate them through the content and what information or services they provide.
FORUM Forum is a type of blog which requires group input. It constitutes a group of people or members who come together to share their thoughts or experiences on a subject matter or niche which may either be in sports, politics, religion, education, technology, relationships e.t.c
Forum always has a moderator i.e someone or people who are in charge and controls what topics are being posted on a particular discussion.
One of the most popular forum in Nigeria is Nairaland.com which is Nigeria’s most visited online forum.
In forums, members are all equal. Anyone can start a discussion on a topic and others can reply. In essence, a forum is user-generated content unlike blogs & websites.
So I do hope you get the major difference between blogs, forums, and websites. Based on this, you can decide to start any of these as it may matter to you.

Jones4190: ARE YOU A BIAFRAN? Those who arrested and sentenced Isaac Adaka Boro to death for declaring Niger Delta Republic were neither Hausa-Fulanis nor Yorubas but two supposed brothers of his and Biafrans named Odumegwu Ojukwu and Aguiyi Ironsi who were still on the side of Gambaris and still trying to please them as at then. For declaring Niger-Delta Republic Ironsi, the then military head of state, ordered Ojukwu to get Isaac Boro arrested for treason. Ojukwu, in an attempt to please Gambaris, fought Isaac Boro for 14 days within which he used federal might of “one-Nigeria” to kill 150 soldiers loyal to Isaac Boro, caught Isaac Boro, stripped him naked and sent him over to Lagos where Ironsi charged him to court and within just 2 months got him convicted, at the Supreme Court, of treasonable felony of trying to break away from Azikiwe’s one Nigeria, got him sentenced to death by hanging. While Ironsi and Ojukwu did all that to Isaac Boro, they left untouched their own Igbo brother soldiers who planned a coup with which they killed Innocent Hausas, Yorubas, Niger Deltans, Middle belters leaving Igbo politicians unharmed despite they, like Zik and Okpara, were part and parcel of the corrupt Balewa government. However, before Ojukwu and Ironsi could execute their sentence on Isaac Boro God intervened and the counter coup happened. Ironsi was overthrown and killed. Gowon took over declared Isaac Boro innocent and released him. But just fifteen months later Ojukwu too declared Biafra Republic due to the way Igbos were being killed in the North. In declaring Biafra, rather than first apologise to Isaac Boro for what he earlier did to him and then ask for his cooperation in fighting to realize the Biafra dream, Ojukwu did nothing like that but without consulting Boro at all went as far as arrogantly including in his Biafra map the very Niger Delta areas which Isaac Boro earlier tried to pull out of Nigeria and which he (Ojukwu) nearly killed him for. This angered Isaac Boro and Ken Saro Wiwa who both pledged support for Gowon in order to teach Ojukwu a bitter lesson for his arrogance and dishonesty. That was why Isaac Boro and Saro Wiwa fought on the side of Gowon during the war. Naturally Isaac Boro couldn’t have come out of prison to join the Ojukwu who jailed him and fight against the Gowon who released him. It would have been absurd. No rational human being does that. This is the truth of what happened and which Igbos hate to hear but prefer to blame everyone else as if they themselves were 100℅ innocent. Igbos must learn to say the truth because if the Biafra/Niger Delta Republic they now seek is founded on lies and deliberate falsehood, like Nigeria, it will not stand but will soon become a failed state like Nigeria. We can’t leave Nigeria for another Nigeria. But we however know that Igbos allergy to truth is incurable, therefore Niger-Delta states will never be part of Biafra I liked your comment. And, I am Igbo. You may need to know that Igbo is dynamic. You may have known the bad side, which is minor. The major side is what you should go for research on. One Nigeria is sacrosanct. |

Culture › Re: Gombe Government Appoints Danladi Sanusi As Mai Tangale, Despite Protests by eodavids(m): 2:34pm On Mar 03, 2021 |
fergie001: Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has appointed Malam Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba as the Mai Tangale.
The vacant stool was occasioned by the death of Dr. Abdu Buba Mausharu, the 15th Mai Tangale and only Christian monarch in the North-East, last month.
The selection process turned violent with three persons killed and property worth millions of naira destroyed in Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State as the crisis over the appointment of a new Mai Tangale deepened.
The residents and indigenes several times insisted on the choice of Dr. Musa Idris Maiyamba, a position the State Government isn't very comfortable with, instead preferring a Muslim, as alleged.
To forestall further crisis, the Gombe State Government had declared a curfew and suspended the appointment of a new Mai Tangale until today.
The Tangale are predominantly Christian with a small percentage of Islam and traditional religion as well.
SOURCE
The Gombe State Government was also petitioned in November last year, after the most Senior Judge, Justice Beatrice Iliya was excluded from the Chief Judge Nominees List, for being Christian; an act that drew widespread condemnation. May it bring peace and tranquility to the Tangales and Gombe state in general |
