You did not state that you can still withdraw free if you use your bank. Most people always have their banks close to them. 70% withdrawals are done on the withdrawals' banks ATM. I'm sure you used to use your bank 70% in the past. And now, you will start again since you know. Go and try it. Use your bank and it is free. And there aren't long lines again. Stop telling lies. |

Inosky:Laws are made to satisfy everyone. I am not supporting or against the banks because I prefer "awof" too. Who no want "awof"? Yes, these banks wahala too much. Look at how they charge sms, and other charges anyhow. But I can't complain. The banks keep saying they are running at loss. I can understand certain things. For example, the costs of running banks, diesel, etc are high also. Do I know the true cost? I don't. But one thing is clear, you don't expect them to not make additional income like when Soludo and Sanusi were there cos the fees you want to pay were established in those days. You can argue that CBN should prosecute banks if they don't put cash there. Lol. But CBN too cannot do much cos they must have seen the issues. The lapse gave banks the opportunity to exploit Nigerians. I guess they put all the costs together and arrived at the new costs. These new costs are cheaper than what you have been paying to withdraw from POS. But you want to go back to the old fees. Think about it again. If you use your bank's ATM till date, it's free. Look at it well. What kind of additional cost will a bank say it will incurred becos of 3 to 5 more ATMs. If they have to stop the Air conditioned of the oga to power Atms, let them do it. No be so? The security in the bank takes care of the ATM too. No rental fee cos it's on their property or already rented property. So, what excuse will the bank make? So, it is free even till today for all their customers. But make money on other customers. It's sounds good. Previously, it used to be after 3 times withdrawls in monthly charges start. Do you get it. No matter how you see it, there are costs to maintain it. Maybe costs of maintenance and other unforseen costs ....those can be taking care by the fees of other banks customers that use their ATMs. Are the fees what we should really pay? I don't know. But as long as the fees are extremely cheaper than using POS, I am OK with it. Oga, na people like you dey cause wahala. You can pay extremely high for POS, but now that it has gone down extreme cheap, you want to pay what you used to pay in 2010 (15 years ago) with the situation on ground now. Ha ba! You pay N100 for every withdrawal from POS, so that it is N400 for N20,000 since "Emewerey" scattered it all. Now it is N100 for N20k in other banks ATM. If you withdraw with your bank and the ATM is onsite, it is free. Why the complain? Find your bank and withdraw if you don't want to pay. Then, when you can't find and you need cash, remove N5,000 to N20,000 and pay N100. Still cheaper than withdrawing from POS. The only time you may not want to use ATM is when the ATMs are off-site m...like ATM at airports, malls, etc. where the bank is not there, but the ATM is there. That's when you pay N600 per N20,000 because banks spend more for such ATMs. If you find a POS around any offsite location, then use it then. But I don't mind. I won't start looking for POS at offsides. Imagine I am at the airport and I need cash. So, I will have to go to the street and start looking for POS. Right? No way. I will rather give out that N600 for my convenience, but if I can spot a POS before I enter airport, why not? Then, POS. But personally, I want CBN to damage that POs business. So, I will rather not patronise them again so they can all pack up operating where there are enough ATMs. Let then operate only where ATMs are not enough for the residents. The challenge here is that Nigerians are greedy. Government does not want to get involved in the Agric business, but empowers farmers. But you see those middle men, traders, and retailers are too greedy. They will keep moving prices up to make more money. The only way government can check them is to import food and other things to crash prices. It did not start today. General Muritala and General Segun Obasanjo did the same when they ruled. That was when area boys aren't around. Those retailers and middlemen kept moving prices of fish up. Those guys went to Norway and imported massive fish. Within a week, the price went down. And they asked traders....did they lose when selling at the new crashed price? Of course not. Farmers, middle men, and even retailers always get incentives from government, but they will never allow those bonuses reflex in their prices. Rather, they will keep moving prices up to make more money. That's why they have associations. Those association leaders will not want to do anything but always finding ways to make traders, retailers pay fees, and they encourage them to move prices up. Those retailers too saw the opportunity, and they over do it. When traders started making more, the association demands more too. Now, if govt decides to ban the associations, they will start rioting. If they don't riot, area boys will disturb markets. If they don't disturb them, traders will start stealing from each other, and they will disorganise everywhere. Nigerians behave like animals generally. Look at the cement price of today. Govt has assisted cement producers and with the CBN interventions, they are relieved. Yet, those guys including dangote has refused to moved down the price. Work and house minister had to call them out last week to move the price of cement from over N9k to N7k. So, you can see the real Nigerian producers, distributors, marketers, and retailers. They are all greedy. So, the Nigerian problem is too complex. It can be solved when we are truly ready to sort out everything. Like I always say, the military guys destroyed Nigeria finally. Also, Natasha, the accuser has been caught making false sexual assault allegation some years back. Just that she was lucky that a respected man pleaded on her behalf, else, her political career wouldn't have kicked off at all. So, these two people know exactly what was wrong between them. Ukraine Russia war is what I am familiar with so there is nothing you want to say. That area of Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapon is a technical issue. The issue is really complex. While I won't want to go into that, my initial post you made comment was explicit....I wrote about the next steps for Zelensky. This is the bone of contention. You want Trump to guarantee him, while I said that if I was Zelensky, I would try to avoid negotiation now because the cards aren't on my table and quickly plan an election so as to buy more time. This is what we are talking about. So, do not change the issue cos I am not going to argue with you blindly. The issues that led to the war were too complex and it wasn't only the US that was on table during the agreement. The question goes back to why can't others on the table like the UK, France, Germany etc also team up to give him the assurance if US is saying they aren't ready to continue? If the US had not pumped money into it, do you think the UK and the rest would even take a step? Assurance is money. Na only US? $200B alone. Ha ba! Dem no try? Considering the issues that led to Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapon, hmmmmm.....they exchanged for what? Do you know about it? Perhaps they are already regretting it. And I wrote earlier in one of my posts, if I was Zelensky, I would simply buy more time, and try to make money, and build my nuclear weapon again. Do you think if Zelensky had assembled a good NATO team, approach Trump, and seal that $500B deal...and he goes further to release much more mineral....(dem get am in big quantity na), and start it's nuclear weapon....do you think Trump will say No? Baba that is looking for money. I do not need to write deep things here. I have written what diplomatic pros understand. Ukraine has shown everyone that he has been betrayed. The good news is that Ukraine is not Palestine. It has grains and minerals. He should simply exchange those things for backup to build its nuclear power again. Believe me, if Ukraine can be stubborn to start it's nuclear program again (it's why I said Zelenky must not go into any negotiation now, but use an election to buy time for himself to recover) NATO will accept them ASAP. It is not yet over if Zelensky is smart Zelensky should have gotten the signal that Trump isn't ready to spend a pence on any war without getting much more back. Israel paid the US big time for the missiles they bought. If Ukriane is also paying Trump billions, I am sure he will blast Putin, welcome Zelensky very well like he honored Natenyahu. But Zelensky still went ahead to persuade them to give him more fund to keep fighting. That's not wise. This war isn't over yet as the next face is 100% politics and diplomacy. If I were Zelensky, I would meet with the EU as soon as possible to see if I could still use their financial support to quickly negotiate a cease-fire, and more importantly, to hold elections so that he could run for another term or fix his man there. The next election should be his concern to shut up most critics since he doesn't have his own money to keep fighting. One year preparation should be announced fast. He is buying 1 year to quickly write his legacy rather have it rubbished. Believe me, Moscow will stop everything cos they also will want to participate so as to install their own. Zelensky should use this strategy to buy time for him to save his integrity instead of being disgraced. EU will rally round him to fight the next war which is now internally and fully politically. Zelensky might even get away without negotiating with Russia if he quickly organises an election. Moscow definitely will welcome the idea because they will want to eject him finally, and Zelensky can outsmart them and win or put his own there. And if he doesn't still win, he should move quietly out of Ukraine a man who refused to back down, but lost an election honorably. The next president can do whatsoever he pleases while he spends his life in EU with his honor intact and still pressing buttons as one of Ukriane's hero..rather than allow Trump mess him up. I don't even know maybe it's Biden that messed him up by providing him too much. Can't say. Personally, I think the argument should have been done indoor, and then, all parties can just pretend with whatever they want to tell the press. Or maybe, Zelensky could even boycott the press to show his annoyance. I can easily say I dont support Trump and his vice for this, but who knows what Zelensky had pulled indoor initially? The other issue...this boy called Vance needs to be careful cos na so Pence did his "gra gra" with Trump, and they fell out with each other later. This boy has just started his career and is lucky to be the US VP, and Trump is already rounding up. This boy will just allow himself to be hated. Well, he has fought a good fight, but we must learn from this issue. Get your money, if not, you will be talked down even in your family meetings. Get your money. And if you are temporarily getting help, avoid anything called argument or confrontation with sources you are getting help from. As soon as you see 'sh.ts coming your way, quickly change direction. I feel for Zelensky. I learned a long time ago not to talk when the cards aren't favoring me. Also, to be extremely careful when the resources I am using to execute a project aren't mine. This is a sad day for the guy, and the worst thing is that they will force him to conduct a fast election which Moscow will interfere and sponsor their own person. This is a tough case to judge honestly. Let's look at the US case too...how many Nigerians feed others and don't behave like their god? Honestly, the US has tried too for Ukraine. If not for the US, Ukraine wouldn't have done anything. OK...why can't EU sponsor the war as soon as Trump stopped. They continue to meet, but no one wants to drop money. Lol. Money that is more than the GDP of some nations, the US has spent on this war. Personally, I have nothing to say, but I learned more. The rich is powerful, and they always win. With all sanctions on Russia, they survived it. It is good to be self sustained. Just look at Palestine too. They had the land for many years and refused to develop it. See...if one of these nations invade Nigeria, it is all over. The rich will win. Period! This is the story of the unprofitable servant. When you have a gift and cannot make use of it, someone else will take over from you. Palestine has been there doing nothing much to develop the land. If they had developed everything, would Israel even have any land to claim? And you will see how quickly Israel and the United States work to rebuild Gaza after it was destroyed. After reconstructing everything, that's it. Palestine has lost everything in Gaza. But mark my words: Ukraine will start it's nuclear weapon again if they get some things right fast. Just mark my words. The cards on table now is for Zelensky to return home and prepare to win another election, or have his person there. Then, they should start exporting grains again, and from there. They should make money with their minerals too, and then develop their nuclear weapon and build another strong army. It is not easy, but Ukraine can still pull it off. But if Putin should successfully put his person there, it is all over for Ukraine. Even Zelensky should run away and take asylum in EU. Advice for everyone: it is not too late to make money even you are 70. If it's 10 years left for you, enjoy it while you are self sustained. Live a self sustained life so that no one can talk to you anyhow. And do not start any project you will ask people to help you complete. After finishing school, they should apply for a graduate visa and work until the end to find a health care sponsor, which is very possible. If you like the UK afterwards, stay and build a career there. If you want to still move, then, look into the US or Canada immediately after your program, while on graduate visa, or after you have found a sponsor. The US and Canadian visas are easier from the UK. The rest lies with you to navigate how you want it. Some mumu people got the US visiting visa from the UK and overstayed in the US. Lol. Mumu people. If the first you get is visiting, go and return to the UK. Just navigate your way from there. If you want to pursue the US from anywhere, use one of their work visas. But if you find a good partner, and you are sure that the person isn't one of those that will mess you up...take it. Any partner that has mentioned out of anger at any point of your relationship that you want to marry cos of their paper, don't every use such. Never. If you love the person...marry for love and find other ways. This is my advice to everyone. As for Canada, use any of the routes you are qualified for from either Naija or the UK, but its also easier from the UK. Look at the costs first. Personally, I don't fancy Canada. It isn't a fantastic nation to me. Anyone who is angry cos of my view can kiss my a.ss. period.. Again...the most important is making money. I don't see what anyone is looking elsewhere if one can secure a good job in the UK. Even it takes decades to become British, I think it is a good deal as long as one is in a program that eventually leads to citizenship. Person dey make cool cash with legit work permit.....dey on his own...is it compulsory to be a citizen 3 years after one lands in a nation? Even it takes 20 years, as long as one makes good money, what is wrong in that? But dem wan do fraud. They think if they have citizenship they can't be deported after they are citizens. OK ooo. And finally...I will repeat myself. The best way is to make money wherever one is. Even you are in Naija.... yeah...it may take longer, but victory is sure if you are on the right path. Do not be bothered with whatsoever anyone is saying. Make sure you are in good health. Eat organic food. Then, take your time....learn an evergreen or distruptive innovative skill. Even you are 60 years. Trust me...you will get there one day. I know what I am saying. I know someone who decided to build a 9-apartment building in a strategic location in Lagos, then build a bungalow for himself in another location (not in a wealthy area), and he now has peace of mind. He used the money he could have travelled with to do that. And 12 years later, he also relocated. I checked him out with his mates who moved ahead of him. He is better today. The sky is just the beginning because you studied one of the best course out there...and 2 - 2 isn't bad at all. You may try masters in Moutain Top University owned by Mountain of Fire Ministries and Miracle. Prof. D.K Olukoya,the founding professor of the department is a renowned genetics expert with over 70 publications, but I am sure he has written more papers since he has returned to the classroom in the institution. Masters in genetics, masters in biotechnology, etc can be a good start. Blend whatever related genetical program you can get into up with analytical predictive skills by studying data science. Japa is good for everyone in my view - better standard of living because Nigeria is not yet ready to improve. However, I think the real goal is to be financial independent (meeting up with the standard of living of the hosts nations). I am not talking about what we call comfort in Naija. You see N500k salary earners boasting here like gods. If you understand how to make money first, you can cope anywhere. And one can be rich anytime. My take is that you take it easy till you are rich enough. Yes, you can travel there even when not rich, but when you see that it is hard, return and restrategize. If you can endure hardship in Naija, you can endure there too, but the only difference is that you have almost no way to cheat there like Naija. So, I think after some years of people who have no intention of learning any innovative skill hoping they can cheat, they get frustrated. If it is in your 60s you eventually gets it done, then, move if you still desire. The good news is that you can still survive here in Naija with small money. Now, even small businesses are taking advantage of such visas to import talents. The challenge in that of the US is that the Democrats still need to import foreigners anyhow especially Latinos, Asians and Africans to win elections, while republicans have the history of wanting most whites to dominate the US. Having said the above, there have been too many frauds with the family routes. So many illegal marriages have been unraveled to the extent that the UK's family route is so frustrating and most people will rather not try it. The partner who is the native is empowered to the extent that except there is real love, that of the UK always end in tears. But that of the US is still a bit ok. However, there is no girl in the US who isn't aware of marital fraud, and it makes even genuine marriages not to work. I can confidently tell you that this has put a real barrier between black Americans and foreign blacks. The distrust is so pronounced that their girls install trackers on their foreign finances or husbands. Do you think such marriages will ever last? Marriages built on such poor foundations. Personally, I have seen so many tears. American girls charge so much now for fake marriages and they won't still do it. Or they will just tell the truth when it's about to turn upside down as soon as they are offered assurance of protection even if there are proofs that they collected money for such fake marriages. They just enter a bargain deal and the foreign partners are screwed. Sure, applications still get approved even up till this moment. I deal with good guys who genuinely got their student visas with scholarships, and I simply tell them to move to PhD fast. Before their PhD ends, there is a route for intelligent ones to get their green card. That's another form of talent hunt. Even many young researchers apply from abroad and I have seen such threads here on NL. Experienced masters holders with published papers go for it too. Why will anyone with a bright future enter into woman's wahala when there are other routes? Female applicants also enter such wahala too. Their wahala long sef. Lol. Have you ever seen how disoriented they are before getting their papers? Go ask anyone in the UK...the number of people who survive the long years of becoming a British citizen via marriage route is so small. Ask around. And ask about that of the US how it is so technical to push such application in now. As soon as they see such application, I am sure immigration officers there first smile. Lol. Sure, it doesn't mean applicants won't get temporary stay in the US, but hmmm...it is "so so" demanding psychologically, emotionally, financially, morally, etc. Even...real marriages get through real tests. While I don't think the family route will be canceled, it will just be unattractive more and more. So, if one can avoid it, it is good. The sure visas are "investments" and "skills". And they don't mind giving 70 years and above anything because they know they have limited years on earth. If the talents they have acquired can be more efficient with their parents also around, why not? And 80 years plus aren't disturbed when they apply for visas. If you scrutinise visa applications and decisions very well, they are just common sense. I have seen so many good guys being denied, and I just told them to let it go for a while. After they improve themselves, most of them only want to just go see wetin even dey there that they wanted to get by all means when they were younger. Just be succesful and make sure you have no bad record. Have money. And you will understand my point. With money, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom will easily grant citizenship to a single applicant. So, being successful and making money are difficult processes, in my opinion. For your sanity, go for other routes except you have a real marriage. This is my opinion. But I know that almost all those there illegally now, or who are genuinely not qualified cannot but force the marital route since thats what they have to stay there.
