As far as Lagos is concerned, there's no need to continue the protest. Sanwolu has agreed to most demands and things are in motion for others. This was as at last night. If the protest continues today and into the weekend, the protesters may be biting more than they can chew. |

DontBullshitMe: Apples and Oranges.
You don't charge a police officer to court that easily based on "he did this" "she did that". Because any police officer facing a criminal trial will most likely not have his job again. That means years of experience down the drain, expense of training another new officer. So the best thing to do is to set up an investigation panel.
These things are not as easy as they appear. LOL only policemen deserves investigation, ordinary citizens do not deserve investigation. Abi you're trying to say it's easier to investigate ordinary citizens than policemen? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by eph12(m): 5:18pm On Oct 14, 2020 |
DontBullshitMe: Before Prosecution, there has to be a thorough internal investigation by an arm of the police force that proves that these officers indeed are REALLY guilty. You don't just charge any police officer accused of wrongdoing by the public to court. It does not work that way.
Internal investigation - termination of employment - prosecution.
Is that what you want NPF to achieve in one week? They charged some protesters to court in less than 24 hours though |

Ok, got you. No o We are protesting so that we can use biro to improve the salary of the policemen. Then another set of people can make sure that the policemen get their salaries in their emails every month end. It's not that simple though |

nihilistjnr: What's the strategy for number 5? And how does your protest help achieve the goal? The protest is against police brutality and police reform. The necessary stakeholders are supposed to announce something about improving their salary package and a committee set up to monitor the government to make sure they do as promised. |

BlueRayDick: Do u know about Fadeyi, Onipanu boys? Do u know those guys alone can hijack a protest and turn it all over its head?
I'm all in for a peaceful protest like it's been going on for a while, but we should be wary of unscrupulous elements like those Fadeyi boys that shoot themselves at the slightest provocation in their inter street fight.
My fear is the FG may draft in military that may start killing protesters and labeling it insurrection /ursupation Opposition parties are hoping this happens. The FG must resist the urge. The death of Jimoh at Ogbomoso added fuel to the protest. If this happens, APC have shot themselves in the foot. A government that's not anti people would have addressed these things immediately especially as this protest has been going on since 2017. They have shown their hands and its clear to many of their staunch supporters right now |

BlueRayDick: I understand your points , but it’s about time we tell ourselves the truth. The protest has achieved a certain level of result which we should savor and see how it goes.
The protest is looking more like it has been hijacked by celebrity clout chasers, political jobbers and some mischieve makers. See the pictures below about an account of one of the protesters at surulere yesterday .
I think while we are making our voices heard we should be concern about the lives of our fellow youth as well. It is not cowardice , but being reasonable. Where the guy lost me was when he started narrating what happened in his absence. |

BlueRayDick: At this point I think the protests should be halted.
The IGP has announced SARS has been disbanded, he has informed Davido that a new tactical unit to take over from SARS will being training as from next week and the president has already addressed us promising a total reform of the police force.
Further protests on this same subjectay not make sense going forward. Let's see how things would pan out in the coming weeks.
Our voices have been heard already, make we no scatter everything with a directionless protest going forward.
This is my personal opinion o Actions they say speak louder than words. Does the actions of the police so far look like there's any sort of leadership or they are ready to take human life serious? |

nihilistjnr: Did you listen to that call Dayo posted?
Aspiring SARS officers are actually paying to enter the unit - what do you think they are paying for? You're not listening. There are other choices. Policemen can quit and go into business if they want to make honest living. Those SARS guys are not interested in the hard honest way but that option is there. If this was a kidnapper or yahoo boy, we wouldn't be making these excuses. I don't see how different SARS are from the yahoo boys that we condemn. Those ones too claim they're trying to escape poverty |

MorataFC: pls don't let us get this issues twisted, nobody here is supporting crime, that man raised some valid points, he says an hungry man that have access to gun legally can do and undo, but the other hungry man that don't have the opportunity the policemen have will resign to fate. He said further, bring the bankers of this world, the lecturers of this world to Nigeria Police with the same current salary structure they too will join the bad wagons. How come every one that joins Nigeria police suddenly become corrupt. Bring out ten police men 8 of them are corrupt are we now saying for every ten man in Nigeria 8 of them are corrupt? What do you think about yahoo boys? They give similar excuses for going into crime. They shouldn't be harrassed because they're only trying to escape poverty no matter who they hurt. It's not their fault, it's the system |

Leave people shouting EndSARS.
You put people in extreme poverty, give them guns, ask them to even buy their own uniforms, and then form surprised when they act like armed robbers.
This woman's call sounds like the origin story of a super villain. SARS is not the only unit with guns. They're not the only unit underpaid. So why is their case different? |

Why are you trying to find excuses for bad behaviour? SARS unit went rogue with the blessing of their commandants and that's that. It's the same way rape is wrong and we can't make excuses for such actions. Nothing like she was wearing very short dress or was giving me the eye. Rape is rape, crime is crime and they're all choices |
