But this is no more news. Why was it pushed to the fp again. The so called gate crashers paid their own flight fee and booked their own hotel. They did not use public fund so why the barking? Things that are not important or necessary we make so. If he doesn't want to work with them does that mean you can't greet yourselves? You simply acknowledge their greeting and move away. No be by force to discuss business with them. Nonsense

Abeg, stop yarning Opata!

How can you not demand for dollar when all you guys do is rush to China to import sub-standard goods?
Are those goods bought with Naira ....or Dollars?

As long as we are an "import dependent, mono-income economy" we will always demand for the Dollar.
The other option is to increase our own level of manufacturing so that we have goods we can export, so that we also earn such Dollars.
Even more important is to PRAY that God never allow us to make the mistake a second time, of having a clueless President without shoes whose only pastime is lavish wastage of our Foreign Reserve!

Import Less, Export more "refined goods" as against raw materials like Crude oil, be financially prudent and jail looters => Vibrant economy.

Dont pay me for this, dash it out to the less privileged. undecided

Lastpage!
If we have those things in Nigeria then we won't have to import. And what do you want us to export oga? Respect your old age nau. Common sense is free so you should be able to get one.

Yes, do you not know that healthy foreign reserves is used to defend the naira... Economics 101
Well it's bad move using foreign reserve to defend naira. We have been doing that for a long time now and we just keep going down. Our demand for dollar is what's causing this fall. If we depend less on dollar our currency will improve. Common sense 101

tbaba1234:
It is not out of context, GEJ's failure was not in the low oil prices. It was in the fact that inspite of record high oil prices, we had nothing saved for the rainy day.
So our so called depleted foreign reserve is responsible for the fall in naira?
Politics › Re: Ministers Will Be Appointed In September - Buhari by eph12(m): 7:59pm On Jul 20, 2015
PassingShot:
Jonathan compounded his own problems by depleting Foreign Reserves he could have used to defend the Naira. Had GEJ built the FR with excess monies earned during crude windfall, he would have been in a better position to defend the naira.
The part of your comment I quoted says falling oil prices coupled with our dependence on oil is reason for the fall of naira and I agree. That GEJ squandered money that should have been used to defend the naira is maybe true but for how long do you think we can continue to defend the naira? Is that sustainable? The answer is definitely no. I believe Buhari is going to continue the diversifying effort Jonathan was doing or else we would be running around in circles.
Politics › Re: Ministers Will Be Appointed In September - Buhari by eph12(m): 7:52pm On Jul 20, 2015
tbaba1234:
GEJ presided over the highest average crude prices and squandered it. We should have had enough shock absorbers to deal with the fall in prices.
This is out of context bro. Maybe he did maybe he didn't is not what I wanted to point out in the comment I quoted.

Much of the problem has to do with drop in oil price to which our economy is heavily tied.
You mean this was public knowledge and yet Jonathan was criticized for it? Or are we just realizing this now?

When cabinet ministers are appointed in
September, it will be some months after I took
the oath of office. It is worth noting that Obama
himself did not have his full Cabinet in place for
several months after first taking office; the
United States did not cease to function in the
interim. In Nigeria’s case, it would neither be
prudent nor serve the interests of sound
government to have made these appointments
immediately on my elevation to the presidency;
instead, Nigeria must first put new rules of
conduct and good governance in place.

America was/is a working country. The structures have already been put in place by founding fathers. So it was just a case of continuity and some new policies to identify his administration with. So there's no comparison sir.

This statement is already going to cause sleepless nights in the u.s.a.
The amounts of phone calls that will bomb bard PMB concerning ministerial composition alone is deafening.
Imagine what amaechi will be doing right now as we speak.
That is why he cannot move as quickly as you want!
Don't see how some couple of phone calls can slow somebody down. By now Buhari already has a list of people he can work it. So no phone call can influence his decision if he's who he is said to be.
