I really don't understand why anyone in Nigeria will be doing fixed deposit with our inflation rates, you are only making money for the banks, who know how to use your money better than you, this doesn't not make sense. smiley
You are so on point. Most of our politicians lack entrepreneurial skills and competency: they deposit the stolen funds in the banks instead of making use of the money so that more youths could be employed.

It is a good move on my own view.

With the way Lagosians are migrating to Ogun state now as a result of high cost of living in Lagos, the man might be right. Jobs/Vacancies › Re: My Sordid Experience As A Female Lawyer Job Hunting. by Ephemmm: 5:08pm On Oct 16, 2015
queenfav:
My joy knew no bounds when my landlord's wife called a lawyer she once worked with to get me an interview appointment with his firm. Despite my tiredness after the POP ceremony, I managed to wake up early to get there by 8.am. My hopes were high with the possibility of getting a job barely 24hrs after POP. That's how I waited till 10.am o, before the man showed up. He ushered me into his office, and the interview began.

First off, I pride myself as a lady who dresses decently both for corporate and for casual occasions. So, this wasn't a case of immoral dressing on my part. That's how the managing partner interviewing me started looking at me to the point of me wondering if something was amiss. The next thing he said was, "you look really smart, and pretty. I like you already counsel."I just mumbled "thank you Sir". As a lawyer, he asked some pretty tough scenario based questions, which I scaled through by giving my legal opinion. He then asked for my credentials, which I proceeded to give him. That was when the man proceeded to leave his seat and placed his hand on my shoulder. I was so pertrified! I shook free and he got the message that he should keep his hands to his damn self.

The interview then took a personal turn. He started asking about my relationship status. I quickly responded that I was engaged. His reply was "me too am married, can't you see my ring", I like you a lot...you are a very pretty lady. I am sure a lot of judges are fighting over you in this state. Your credentials are great, you seem smart, just my kind of woman..what if I want to date you?". I was so shocked!! That was when I told him straight off that I don't date married guys, let alone one who may become my boss. Also that I am in a very committed relationship and don't condole cheating. He was a bit stunned, but took it in good faith. He asked a few other questions before ending the interview, saying his other partners would interview me on monday, that's when I will know if I am getting the job.

This experience left me very shocked and sad, that an interviewer would blatantly ask me out. Whatever happened to work ethics and morality? I just hope I don't get experiences like this again. Its very insulting and demeaning to say the least. Please, Nigerian men this is so wrong. A woman should be interviewed and hired for her brains and academic intellect, not because she is pretty and you just want a new plaything. I was so close to insulting him, I just had to keep calm and address the issue in a very firm way. May God help all female jobseekers o. If there's anything I am not ready to do is to sleep with any man, because he is in a position to give me a job. Not after 6 years invested into my legal career. Not now, not ever!
Thank God for the kind of personality you have: I know some ladies that won't mind sacrificing their self-esteem on the altar of job search. Keep it up and do not relent; there is time for everything under the sun.

I am very proud of you!

Opinedecandid:
But it is sad, very sad that this is happening on every day or every other day basis.

More saddening is the fact that other than promising to end insurgency in two months of being in office, (he may not have been the one who made the statement, as claimed by a litany of his admirers, but his party);
other than also promising to send the dare devils out of the country before the end of 2015, (I only hope this promise is made by the President himself);
Again, other than recently assuring Nigerians that lesser and lesser number of attacks are now taking place in the country, particularly since he assumed leadership ( no Lai Mohammed can deny that the President ever said this one, because I witnessed him say so a few hours ago;
Amidst all those promises, more and more bombs are exploding and more and more lives are being lost.

WHO DO WE PUT THIS BLAME ON?

Okay, it's now obvious that it is not the former administration of President Goodluck Jonathan's fault, it is not the present administration of President Buhari's fault.
Therefore, it is the fault of the insurgents, and may be, their foreign and local sponsors, so to speak!

But had president Buhari knew better, had Lai Mohammed knew better, had other handlers in the APC knew better, they would not have put all the blame on the wrong persons, from the out set.

A lesson for them to learn. Loud-mouthedness is not a sign of a good leader but the opposite of it.
[/s]

Thrash from empty hen.................................. For your information, insurgency, war and other serious crimes are easily curbed at the introductory stage: it is like a bush-fire during the harmanttan which would undoubtedly outgrow any curative measures that might be taken when it get to its peak - that is why there is an adage that says - 'prevention is better than cure'. Therefore, any attempt made by PMB is a curative measure which can never match preventive measure in terms of effectiveness.

GEJ might not orchestrate this menace, but history will never forget him about how he treated BK with levity hands to the extent that NA seems like rats in the presence of BH boys when he was in power. During GEJ's regime, it was 80-905 fire for fire, but now Boko boys have changed their strategies too- it is now 80-90% suicide bombing.

As opposed to media broadcasting, if GEJ has really won this war against Boko boys, I don't think PMB will be facing the same issue we are facing now.

God bless Nigeria.

It is obvious you have no point: if the battle has been won against the insurgency, why is PMB facing the same problem now? For you information, insurgency is like a bush-fire during the harmattan: it can easily be curbed from the beginning than when it has gained ground.

Get your fact right.

U asked wat they did, and I told u and I av SAID HE RECOVERED ALL LOST TERRITOrIES, pushed them away and combed and raised Sambisa Forest, elections held in Borno state with 98% PVC Collection. Is wat I said true or not regardless of wen he did it??. My question still stands with about 1700 dead in about 4months. It was never dis bad, in GEJ's tenure. What solution has Buhari and APC provided to curb dis situation?? I need an answer.
First of all, PVC collection is not a yardstick. Historically, northerners has good record on this more than any other region. Or are Southwest and Eastern part of Nigeria with no good record of PVC collection in the last election affected by insurgency?

It is also noteworthy that PVC collection is not done in a month: it is an exercise while lasted for like a year or more. So, this has nothing go do with 98% collection within a three weeks when the election was shifted: get your fact right

However, what was the reason given for shifting of election in March? Is it not because of the inability of FG to curb the activities of Boko Haram? It is ironical that you can believe that a battle that GEJ cannot win in six years is won within three weeks.
Politics › Re: US Deploys Ground Forces Against Boko Haram by Ephemmm: 9:22pm On Oct 14, 2015

Incase u don't know, boko haram increased their tempo wen GEJ was president and the last time I checked. He recovered all territories taken by the insurgence, the president was there himself and the word #NEVERAGAIN was trending; which he would av done since, but their nothern elders cried fowl that he his killing their brother. Even the present president for once never condemned their attacks rather he blamed the FG. And also the last time I checked, elections held in Borno state with 98% collections of PVC. And bokoharam was beginning to become something of the past. Cos Sambisa Forest was raided and combed b4 the election. So wat happened since APC took over with bout 1700people dead since they came on board, and wat av they done?? I ask again.
Thank you.
The bolded has said much about your thinking ability: no logic. In less than three weeks, how can a President who said that he shifted election because of insurgency win the insurgency he was unable to win for the past five years?

It is either you are susceptible to media propaganda which PDP wanted to use to win the heart of the electorates or you didn't get your fact right tongue tongue tongue
