banmee: The diplomat does not have to stay in Nigeria. He has been groomed in a normal society where everything works and people think a certain way so he thinks it applies to every country. He is ignorant of the realities in Nigeria. If you disagree, please list five things about Nigeria that signifies a country that is normal or has the potential of reaching greatness. Be mindful of the reality. Plus, Nigeria was never great. I wonder where you get this idea from. How can a country be great when more than half it's existence has been under a dictatorial leadership, is dependent on only one source of revenue, has zero infrastructure, is corrupt to the bone, and dirty as phuck? Be truthful to yourselves and maybe you'll have a chance of being great one day. Just maybe. I doubt it though. I'm waiting for the response to this question. |

But the diplomat is not living in Nigeria or shopping in Nigerian markets or using the Nigerian health centers.
Basically, he is not wearing the shoe and does not know where it pinches.
I'm proudly Nigerian anyday but let's not deceive ourselves that it's easy being one. |

Feraz: As much as I hate governments getting involved in religious affairs, you may want to read up that link. The money was given to the churches to upgrade the schools the state government initially took from them some years back and to buy equipment for the schools. The money was not meant for the church but for the schools being handled by the church. Wow. I didn't read through the details. Thanks for pointing that out. |

Mynd44: Its there but not fully. The only one that has been implemented is the one about adverts.
Even outside Nigeria, Minors try to beat the system to try to buy cigarette and some get away with it To be honest, I don't think it's there even partially. Who would prosecute a person who sells to a minor for example? Def not this our Nigerian police. Do stores check for ID at all before selling cigarette? Not to even mention the black market side of things. Well, still a start, which is better than nothing. |

IamaNigerianGuy: You are one of those half-baked people on NL without knowledge of history. Let me school you.
The UK had a coup detat under Cromwell to reset the system. France had military rule under De'Gaulle. Many coups have occured in Spain up till 1975. Despite appearances, the military has a big say in America. Thailand frequently resets the polity with coup detats. South Korea was put on the path of development by a military junta. Ghadaffi was a military ruler; he led Libya to unprecedented development. Rwanda is the fastest growing economy in Africa- Kagame entered power via military action. Democracy in Nigeria is a sham. If you think what we practice in Nigeria is close to democracy you need therapy.
I will not read or respond to any of your comments anymore. Goodbye looool, sorry I couldn't help but laugh reading that. |

What is even worse is these links you quoted to compare, make reference to a single church building (which is still wrong), whilst this Sokoto govt is building 189 mosques!! Not one, not two, not ten, but one hundred and eighty nine. What kind of country is this for goodness sake?!!! And why are some people trying to defend this? |

greatgod2012: Buhari committed treason, and never apologized to Nigerians! Buhari truncated our democracy and still had the gut to campaign as democratic president! Despite all these treasonable offences and without any apology, Nigerians still went ahead to vote for that same man........the problem is definitely with Nigerians and not him! His hypocrisy is already biting him in the butt. The power he desperately hustled for, he can't enjoy. |

BanevsJoker: There is a reason History was removed from the list of compulsory subjects in our school curriculum. The current generation of Nigerians are not only myopic and ignorant, there is also zero interest in self improvement and learning. This is all public knowledge, but supposedly educated Nigerians still support him. Even now that he is a ghost, they still support him and will vote his cadaver into office if they could. Nigeria will always have the kind of leaders Nigerians deserve. And yes, I have lost all hope in this contraption called Nigeria. Those who fail to remember their past are condemned to repeat it. Which Nigerians did in 2015 and are now suffering the consequences. |

ModCaller: What are you talking about? The woman was hard on the kid. But if you look at it again you will see that she was possibly having a hard time curtailing the kid.
Kids with his medical condition are hard to handle. So why collect money to "handle them"? It wasn't a free service. She was being paid 20k per hour, 3 hours each week. Besides, why train to be a therapist if you don't want to deal with kids with such medical conditions that are "hard to handle"? Wow. Can't believe anyone is even trying to explain this away. Incredible. |

DilaRocks: Please Is This True About Private Universities?
Good morning everyone, please Is it true that if one attends a private University if not covenant that it will be hard getting a job later on in future as most companies only accept graduates from good public universities and then for private if not covenant universe then forget it?
I am asking this question because I didn't pass this year's jamb so I decided to enroll in a private University around my region, Delta state, the University is western delta university but lots of people discouraging me that private uni is only good for girls and not boys, to make matter worst my sisters said most good paying company only accept graduates from covenant only if it's not public uni,
please I need advise from experienced ones here, if I enroll in this private uni will I have a hard time securing a job later on in future? In addition to what others have said, don't restrict yourself to just Nigeria. You could decide to do masters overseas or similar, so you need to ensure these institutions are recognized outside the country as well. |
