Is like a meeting was held somewhere to cast adopted children in bad light. That evil meeting has come to naught.

I don't intend to engage the op until I'm sure of his age.
It's quite unfortunate. By the way, you still use age as a metric for intelligence in relation with good thought processes and perspectives? You will sure get disappointed.

Yeah you're right,a woman adopt a son and when the boy later discover that he was adopted he plan kill her and take the property, but she sold the land to salvation ministries, in the condition that when she die the church will buried her. Don't adopt male children, adopt female.
Many biological children have murdered their parents as well, for inheritance, rituals and whatnot. I don't understand the unwarranted castigation of adopted children.

Nazgul:
The rule of the thumb is if you must adopt, you and your wife must keep it as a secret...anyone outside both of you mustn't be aware, cos if that child grows up knowing he's adopted, it might affect his mental health because he won't feel secure around you and will be constantly longing for his biological parents.
'Bi a ba ka eru, inu eru a b'aje'.

Keeping adoption a secret will only work with family who lives in diaspora and these kids must be very young when adopted, say 2 years at most. That way they are fully integrated into the family before they become of age. No one will know about it including the kids themselves provided one has an understanding partner. That's a big factor too.

However, if you live closer to home (relatives), forget it.
FamilyRe: Adoption Is Not Worth It At All by Epositive(m):
The deliquencies exhibited by these kids have little to do with being adopted. It's more of poor upbringing and peer pressure. Even well-trained biological kids are falling short so...?
You are just being overzealous here. If you had raised points on medical issues, that would have been more rational. Even at that, nothing is guaranteed even with your own biological children.

If you are an orphan, or you lost one parent at an early age or you were greatly sponspored by a relative, you might appreciate adoption better.

I intend to adopt atleast 2 kids later in life, if I'm comfortable enough to cater for them. To give them a good life they may never had. My own way of contributing to humanity and as an extension of love towards children.

Yeah you can get feminine love but it’s transaction
My looks, finance, emotion, bad influence and the rest are all transaction to a woman .
Won’t lie I’m 20 and deal with lady’s older than me , same age with me and younger than me I’ve got a single mother going head over heels for me.
But all the shit they do and i did with them bleeped up my head mentally, so finding feminine love is running in circle , was brought up in the street and I’m glad i learnt this on time . But i can say for sure is you will enjoy a woman company if she’s into you.
Feminine love is transactional, so is other form of love, and who say you can't be the gainer in the transaction. Obviously, your mind is made up already. All the best.

Wish I didn’t buy trending stuff , but I’m still young and learnt my lesson on time

Wish i had known it only my mother and few female relatives are capable of giving me feminine love and attention , but I’m only 20 years so I learned on time

Happy I entered and know and struggle on my own , at a early age
You can still get feminine love from other women depending on how you position yourself. I'm not endorsing simpism or optimism in females but trying to encourage you to be open-minded in general, for rigidity makes the heart smaller and more faint.

Uncle Sola

He doesn't have problem with you being late to school so far he sees you running towards the school anything past 8am. You need to hurry not strolling or 'bouncing' while you are late. You will run 100m back and forth and still collect flogging.

Sometimes, he only flogs the top 3 on the list of noise makers. grin

Very smart man. He was always declaring 'War Against Indiscipline'

Resident fire! cheesy

The Nigerian Army has over the years not inspired confidence in the populace, remember severally they claimed they killed Shekarau and it turned to be lies after lies until a rival group killed him.....one of the reasons, majority of Nigerians take whatever they say with a sneer.

When US Military says they have neutralized a particular target, don't we believe them as they do back it up with evidence but Nigerian Defense Headquarters will be releasing press statements say dem kill 200, 500 terrorists, video evidence of attack is rarely shared and it seems like fake news to many Nigerians. When the Nigerian Army suffer calamities they tend to lie to Nigerians it never happened while Boko boys will be releasing video evidence of the attacks........so there lies an insight why Nigerians believe the Nigerian Army less.
You are right. Our army has been discouraging with unconvincing reports. By the way, on a general note, what could be the cause?

The major problem of agriculture gss always been low use of technology. How do we account for over 70% of our population who are into farming, yet, we still suffer food insecurity.

Less than 4% of the US population is into agriculture and the nation produce more than enough while exporting surpluses.

E go better.

I observe that in particular to the war against terrorism. People are more inclined to believe Boko Haram's attacks than our army's defences and retaliation.

Thanks for your reply.

My concern is that if I have my permanent workers and manager, how do I monitor theft ?
What if my manager sells 50% of the chemicals bought while he claims he used all as required which will later affect the yield.
Fertilizers can be sold too likewise seeds and crops harvested.
How do I manage this issue?
Are you a farmer too? What is the average yearly payment for yearly farm workers?
That's where supervision comes in. You have records for everything bought. The best way you can handle theft is by close monitoring. On the day of planting, you can be present so as to ascertain that every seed is planted. Same thing during fertilizer application and harvest. For every investment, there's an estimated returns and once you are sure your inputs are well optimised, it will be easy to project the possible returns. This is the reason the manager must be good both technically and with figures.

Except he is a trusted person, the only way to tackle theft is to be there (physically or by proxy). During harvest too, you should be there to check them out. Days will be set out for these activities so you can prepare ahead. Be there, and ask questions. The thing is once they know you are not ignorant of the happenings, it will be tasky for them to cheat you.

Another thing is, most farm workers tend to also use the land for some minor planting for themselves like vegetables, pepper and so on. You may want to compromise a little on that aspect.

I once worked on a poultry farm and my 6-month SIWES on school farm (cassava, melon and corn) exposes me to some of these things. I'm a prospective farmer, still a student studying Agricultural Economics.

Labourers from benue (agatus) take 100k yearly but will be feeding from the little they co-plant on the farm as well. And that's because they do all the work. The fact that you use tractor for some work may alter the payment.
AgricultureRe: What's Your Greatest Problem In Agriculture/agroprenure by Epositive(m): 9:13pm On Sep 09, 2022
emmaodet:
I use tractor to plough and harrow while i hire workers to plant, spray, weed and harvest but it seems it is not working.
All things being equal, your return should be good.

I think it will be cheaper and less stressful if i have my own workers because external workers do delay, disappoint most times.
I will plough and ready to plant instantly to take advantage of the water still present in the soil all for workers to disappoint or tell me they are still working in another farm and will be ready in 3/4 days time.
Should i talk about the cost of transporting them to/from the farm?
Harvesting is the worse since they know i won't enter the farm and do it myself.
You seem too involved directly despite having a farm manager. And yes, it's better to have internal workers (somewhat permanent during cropping season). Constant monitoring and timeliness are very crucial for any agricultural enterprise, internal workers will help to achieve that better. Besides, there are a whole lot of dedicated labourers out there. The undedicated ones should be replaced as soon as possible. After all, machines have done the most tedious parts of the job.
I plant mostly groundnuts and just tried maize and cassava this year
That's great. Food crops.
I have a farm manager. Igede from Benue but I don't have a farm house since i mostly use tractor. I plan setting-up a farm house next year.
The farm manager ought to do more of the staffing, records keeping and work regulations. However, the farm house will ease their (both farm manager and labourers) work particularly if the farmland is further from residential areas. Not only will it fasten the works but also minimize the transport costs as they have a choice, q better choice even of staying on the farm. Plus, housing workers on the farm also help to drive away human pests. I hope you get it set up soon.

Do you market as well?

I run my farm on proxy(far away and won’t be in the farm most of the time) and it is affecting my business.
How do companies run their farms effectively? Even when the owners are far away in abroad.
Does it mean I have to be in my farm personally to be successful in farm business?
What's your staff size and what type of farming are you into?
Don't you have a farm manager?
Do you have a farm house (residence)?
