They just sent me this message now, stating that they'll be charging 4 naira for every 20 seconds spent on bank transactions done via USSD.
Who else has seen this?

Nairaland / General / Google Changes Logo Design In Remembrance Of Famous Nigerian Slave by Ericardo7(m): 5:32am On Oct 16, 2017
I noticed this when I was about to log in to Nairaland. Didn't know anything about him, so I decided to do some research, and I came up with the following info:

His name is Olaudah Equiano (1745 – 31 March 1797), known in his lifetime as Gustavus Vassa. He was a prominent African in London, a freed slave who supported the British movement to end the slave trade. His autobiography, published in 1789, helped in the creation of the Slave Trade Act 1807 which ended the African trade for Britain and its colonies.

He was born in Essaka Nigeria.
He was an explorer, writer, merchant, abolitionist and widely known for Influence over British abolitionists.

In London, Equiano (identifying as Gustavus Vassa during his lifetime) was part of the Sons of Africa, an abolitionist group composed of prominent Africans living in Britain, and he was active among leaders of the anti-slave trade movement in the 1780s.
He published his autobiography, "The Interesting Narrative of the Life of Olaudah Equiano" (1789), which depicted the horrors of slavery. It went through nine editions and aided passage of the British Slave Trade Act of 1807, which abolished the African slave trade.

As a free man, Equiano had a stressful life; he had suffered suicidal thoughts before he became a Protestant Christian and found peace in his faith. After settling in London, Equiano married an English woman named Susannah Cullen in 1792 and they had two daughters, Joanna Vassa and Anna Maria Vassa. He died in 1797 in London, though his gravesite is unknown. Equiano's death was recognized in Britain as well as by American newspapers. Plaques commemorating his life have been placed at buildings where he lived in London.
Since the late 20th century, when his autobiography was published in a new edition, he has been increasingly studied by a range of scholars, including many from his supposed homeland of Nigeria.

Phones / Re: How To Do I Lock My Hotspot? by Ericardo7(m): 7:00pm On Jul 06, 2017
After a while the password goes off on it's own. Especially whenever I reboot the phone. Is there an app that I can use?
Phones / How To Do I Lock My Hotspot? by Ericardo7(m): 6:17am On Jul 05, 2017
I'm a student and I have a room mate.

The thing is most times when I'm asleep he just picks up my phone, turns on my data and my hoptspot and starts surfing the internet with my data.

He's not the only one though, sometimes friends can be like "afa guy, gimme your phone first make I check one or two" and when I oblige they end up turning on my hotspot and using my data.

Please I need suggestions on a very good app I can use to lock my hotspot. I've searched the playstore but the ones I found only lock the Wi-Fi.

I'd be glad if y'all can assist me as your assistance will go a long way.

Thanks friends.

Business / Meet Oyelami Tosin: A Girl Who Makes Phone Cases Out Of Coca-cola Cans by Ericardo7(m): 10:43am On Jan 10, 2017
She calls herself the 8th wonder of the world, and in every sense I think she's worth it.
Meet Oyelami Tosin, a girl with rare talents and unique creativity...
She's birthed so many creative artworks and one of her recent works recently caught the eye of beverage giant "Coca-Cola NG"

Here's her story....

Few days ago, I followed my friend to get an iphone5 case, and
when we got there, the prices were somehow high, she
complained about it, I wanted to complain too, but at the same
time, I said let me keep shut and think of something nice I could
recycle to create a phone case. So after a while, I got this idea.
Using a coke can to create one. I silently made one for her (it
was stressful sha) and surprised her with it.
She Loves it but I love it more.
I could make one for you with your favorite drink can for a very
affordable price.
Thanks!

This amazing innovation prompted "Coca-Cola NG" to present her with an huge business opportunity.
Definitely she's on her path to success....

So I was in the bank today to withdraw some cash to buy some foodstuffs at the mall and also subscribe when I got a message notification.
I ignored it tho, thinking it would prolly be one of those unsolicited messages...
When I got home, I decided to go through my messages only to see this in my inbox.... Free 1Terrabyte from Glo... and Guess what?... It expires in 2084!
Only God knows the kind of promo they're doing or what I did to deserve this..... Been watching YouTube videos and downloading ever since.... I even put on my Hotspot for my manager so he too can flex....
God bless Globacom for this... Network that loves me like kilode!!!

The latest victim, David Ogbonnaya Kalu a

Department was confirmed dead with stab wound
which occurred on Monday. We are yet to know
what actually happened, if it was a fight or
robbery case that led to his death. Kalu, a very jovial, friendly, personality was one time a Hostel Governor, a member of the Student Union Government Student House Of Assembly where he served as the Chief Whip and until his death was a member of the Student Judicial Council.
He'll be missed by us all. R.I.P.
