JuanDeDios: Agreed. For the most part. You may be right.
The thing is, an ecommerce platform should not be a minefield where only smart and experienced people can shop. Average people, elderly people, even children, should be able to shop on Temu. That's why these complaints are valid. ALso do not forget, these platforms do not control the shops, they just go about picking up orders and gather them, unlike the others who ship direct to the end buyer .So could be hard to monitor in this kind of Biz, unlike Ebay who review and monitor. |

JuanDeDios: Temu reviews are not reliable either. I can testify to that.
I shopped online for the first time in 2002. Two shoes and a home lighter after a friend in US sent a $100 voucher. (Oh, Nipost delivered two of the items and stole one.)
I have been shopping on Jumia and Konga since around 2012 - can't recall the exact year.
I have been shopping steadily on Amazon since 2018. It's where I get all my shoes and most of the supplements I take to manage my conditions.
I have been shopping on AliExpress steadily since around 2018.
And I have shopped on Temu since last year.
These things people complain about, only AliExpress and Temu have these issues. My rule these days is that there are certain things I won't buy from certain places. For Temu, I restrict myself to the fencing wires I used on my farm and few kitchen tools - because I know all I have to do is check the dimensions.
Since the day Temu put up a whole machine whereas it was just the blade of the machine they were going to ship, I learnt my lesson. I've also bought a pen from them I can't use - because it doesn't work.
The only online platform I buy shoes from today is Amazon - because the dimensions are always perfect. I also buy supplements there because they don't put up fake reviews or delete bad reviews.
Even Nigeria's Jumia and Konga are better than Temu. Konga deletes bad reviews but they don't go so much out of their way to trick you into thinking something is something it's not the way Temu does.
AliExpress is still better than Temu because it's on a shop by shop basis, while Temu is not. I once ordered an item on AliExpress, and the seller sent me a message to cancel, that the item I ordered was just a stick and not what I thought it was. So why did you put it up in the first place?
Why are there so many complaints about Temu? Because we're all idiots who can't read labels? Amazon, Konga, Jumia, etc. will put up a phone battery, label it battery. Temu will up the phone's picture, label it a phone - whereas the it's just the battery they're selling. Why? Anyone that says all you have to do is read dimensions does not understand how deception works. Reading every print and dimension can reduce this problem. But it won't eliminate it. I agree with you in almost all of your point, However like you said on teh machinery part, One has to read the description and once it do not make sense next shop please. For example all its power tools do not come with battery. I will only buy practical stuff from them. My 1st mistake was ever buying washing line Pegs to peg clothes, they where miniature o nes, but it was my fault as I paid no attention to the measurement, so I learnt my lesson. My tape measure is sitting by my PC all the time cos of Temu.I bought whole computer table on Temu and corresponding chair. Online there would be people who try to scam by trying to be clever ie stingy with desriptions. These days I realy take my time to read the description and make an inform decision. Between this year and last year I have probably spent close to N9 to 11 m on that site.my first real purchase was a car diagnostic tool,N450k and it works perfect till date. I have bought ,pans, cups, spoons, rug carpet, Living room and all house Deco,Soft chairs loads of item. All free delivery, ALi expres do they do free delivery? cos I have never shoped with them B4,but they have weighty Items |

Itzlinda: No their product are inferior quality. I bought polo shirt from there for 11k. The quality is very poor.
I used to think it was people's fault. Now I understood the Chinese sellers there are just dubious. Hmmm I have bought T shirt from them with much higher quality materials than what I get on eBay and some High street brands. |

Meklex: I finally took the car to a mechanic today and he removed the direct fan connection and connected it back to factory settings, he use his car scanner to check and the fan comes on once the car reaches 91°c, so he said the thermostat is still working, he then checked the radiator cap and said it's likely why it overheated. My old radiator cap is rated 1.0 but I wasn't able to find it in the market, but I was able to find 0.9 and 108kpa, I bought both for 3k but currently using the 108kpa cos chatgpt said it's closer to 1.0 rating.
Should I continue with the 108kpa? I drove it around for more than 30 minutes with the AC on and there was no overheating.
Here's a picture of the old radiator cap. Try check Temu if you will see a brand new one cos that one has failed gasket already. Heat will xcape |

Stop this misinformation jare Subsidy was not removed abi How come the allocations to your states government increased with such margins you nor dey Nigeria? If Subsidy was not removed, from where can you land petrol at even N900 in the world?? The state allocation increased cos FG increased the % of share to the states from the now named stamp duty to 50% ,borrowed and raised its stake in treasury bills amongst other things. |

zoomman: Boss, it's a simple maths 7.5% of the cost of a product or services is the tax. Nothing has changed, I am just trying to update you on the new tax regime that took effect this year. Plz go and read what the definition of VAT and come back lets see if it fits into your narrative. This debate on here about VAT just further reveals how clueless citizens of Nigeria are as to what policies entails even if it was looking at us in the face The Only thing that is new here is its enforcement, Penalties and mode of payment meaning if you have been dodging remitting VAT you will now be fined. But in paper all is good but in reality the vast majority of it is not enforceable. |

maasoap: I know of course. Even anytime I received interest from my banks on my savings, the percentage of withholding tax has always consistently been 10%. What we're telling you is that the implementation of VAT and tax will be taken to new level this year according to what NA and and Tinubu recently approved. The evidence is staring you guys in the face here and you are still ignoring it. Why is the lady lamenting if this was implemented last year? I do not believe you know what VAT is If you are confused as to what VAT is ask people they will tell you or do what smart people do, google it. |

Exousiang01: Do you live in a cave?
Have you not been hearing governors, senators and house of rep members brag about the hug amount of money they now receive for allocations? Should the FG go to each state to oversee what the governors do with the money given to them?
Subsidy was removed and the money is now pushed to governors to use to develop the states.... You definitely have granite in your head Well said, they do not even know that this stamp duty so called now gives state governors 50% share as allocation money, in reality the governors are the winners in all this and yet the fight with LGAs as for direct allocation |
