the people of that community are all very stupid, when their children where puncturing the pipe lines to steal the oil did they complain or report to the authorities? NO

they felt they are just taking this share of national cake.

those guys puncture these pipelines after which the can't control the oil coming out, the guys responsible have probably moved to another spot.

and all of them in that community know about it but they'll keep quiet, now the aftermath is hitting them they are complaining.

if and when it is fixed, they'll still be another spillage again until they all start being reasonable themselves.

there are pipelines heading to other regions but you really hear about pipeline damage , WHY?

all these guys up there making noise, I know deep within your mind you know it's a lot there own fault.

the reason white people easily develop anywhere they are is because they always see things plane without bias nor emotions.

we must do the same if we want to grow.

enough of shifting blames, OWN UP.

Finally, I think I agree with you. Building the new port in Bonny is just a waste of money because nobody is going to use it. In fact, Bonny, Onne, Port Harcourt, Warri and Calabar ports should be closed down because nobody will use them.

Instead, everybody should use the Apapa and Tin Can Island ports.

Maersk and Hull Blyth were lying when they said that they are going to ship goods to Onne and the NPA was lying when it said that ships that can't berth at Lagos should be diverted to Onne and other ports in the south-south.

The new port in Warri needs to be cancelled because it's a waste of time and money.

The Eastern Railway Line project also needs to be scrapped because it's a waste of money. Instead everybody will go to Lagos.

I also suggest that Port Harcourt Airport Omagwa and Akanu Ibiam Airport should be scrapped. No airlines will go there. Instead everybody should use Ikeja.

Then we can build a rail line from Lagos to Port Harcourt that will satisfy everybody.

Wouldn't that be grand??

This is my last post on this matter. I won't read your response.
The building of the new ports was just a new way of inflating contracts, What happened to upgrade Onne and the PH ports?
All those you wrote up there is bare rant. Cargo lines will not shift to Onne just cos FG says so, it same reason why flying British Airways to Abuja is from London is cheaper than flying BA to Lagos from Lagos. Those ports have been functioning for years why ain't they flooding it.This has nothing to do with the shipping Lines rather customers who are ready to ship to the port, this is what you are finding hard to comprehend!

Onne Port has load and offload cranes as does Bonny Port and therefore goods will be shipped direct to Bonny or Onne and loaded on the trains for onward movement to Aba, Enugu, Makurdi, Maiduguri and other places.

Why would I ship to Lagos and then move the goods by train to Bonny, Onne, etc when I can ship directly to those destinations?? It seems you don't understand why the Bonny Port is being built and connected to the rail line. The government wants to decongest the Lagos ports so that goods will be shipped to other ports in the south-south. So why ship to Lagos when you can ship directly to a port in Rivers State.

Do you now understand??

Read this https://www.nairaland.com/6057000/onne-seaport-welcomes-biggest-ship

https://www.nairaland.com/6405963/amaechi-new-rail-seaport-development

I'll be back with more articles for you to read.
Why are you talking like this, what's the rate of cargo that goes to Onne port compared to Lagos?
I have shipped to Onne B4 it took me nearly 6 months to receive my goods at Onne reason is simple, patronage of that port is extremely low and costly for shipping Line and we cannot force shipping line to use Onne port, the same analogy goes to the PHC Int Airport and Lagos Internation Airports we only have 3 Int flights from Europe going there. So saying a miracle is going to happen and everyone is going to switch to Onne port and Bonny port to transport their container is just a myth. There is a very good reason why Lagos port is heavily congested. Have you not driven on the Benin IbandAN express road or the East-west road? have you not seen the volume of traffic there, now compared that with anything going north. 90% OF ALL IMPORT TRANSPORT STARTS I N Lagos.so my friend building of a rail track from Lagos fru the Ibadan Benin expressway via the bypass fru the east road all fru to Calabar would make more Economic sense and profit the Fg and ordinary man both in goods and services plus passenger transport, One stone to kill three birds.

You are the one that still hasn't understood. I said that the rail lines are being connected to the ports in order to move goods from the ports into the hinterland.

You said that the rail lines are being built to carry passengers, not freight. I told you that they are going to carry both passengers and freight. You said that the trains that you've seen are passenger trains.

Are the trains that you've seen going to be the only trains that will use those tracks??

And what the hell do you mean by I've never seen freight trains before? Does that make sense to you?? Is this not a freight train in Nigeria??

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wZ4J84kbts

Most of the lines have not been commissioned. They are being test run with passenger trains! I gave you an article in which the minister talked about the passenger coaches and freight wagons that will built in Nigeria and imported to run on the lines! Are you still insisting that only passenger trains will run on the lines or what the hell is the point of your argument??

https://m.guardian.ng/news/gains-of-nigerias-new-railway-wagon-assembly-plant-by-amaechi/
There was a reason I asked you if you have seen a freight train B4, now that we are on the same page, where do you expect these trains to offload? on a passenger platform or at a port?(Bonded terminal)huh PH port has loader and offloads cranes, Onne Port has load and offload cranes and so will be the new Bonny port. So my Argument is simple All ports should be linked by rail be it Seaport or Airport. This is the same in Europe and America.
My Point still stands and you can take it to the bank, there will be more cargo coming from Lagos via the west lines ie Lagos to PH than PH to Maiduguri

1) That's a 2015 article (just after they came into government) and what he said was that he didn't know that the railway was working. He didn't say that he didn't know that there were railway lines. This is a 2016 article where he is talking about the deal with GE for the narrow gauge line. You can see Port Harcourt there.
https://www.premiumtimesng.com/business/business-news/210830-nigeria-concession-narrow-gauge-lines-general-electric.html

2) There is already a port at Port Harcourt, a port at Onne and they are building a port at Bonny, what would be the point of connecting Lagos Port to Onne Port?? Sea ports are used to bring goods into the hinterland, what is the economic sense in connecting Lagos Port to Onne Port??

3) You are wrong. The lines that are being built are for both passenger and freight trains. There were two directives that President Buhari gave to the minister when they started this railway projects (A) All state capitals must be connected (B) All sea ports must be connected so that goods can be moved by rail rather than trucks. In fact it is one of the plans to decongest Apapa of trailer trucks and fuel tankers.

Once again, here is the minister talking about the passenger coaches and freight wagons that will be built in Nigeria and ordered from abroad for the project.

https://m.guardian.ng/news/gains-of-nigerias-new-railway-wagon-assembly-plant-by-amaechi/

It is for this reason that we have to Ibadan and Kaduna dry ports. Goods will be moved from Apapa to these dry ports by trains.

4) What the hell does this have to do with Port Harcourt Mono rail?
Good morning
as per your number 3 I think you are missing the point
I don't think you have seen a freight train b4 so you got me c confused, the tracks has nothing to do with it rather its the carriages they both moves on the same track same platform nothing differed,I asked again have you seen a proper c container trailer in Nigeria most of the time? Freight trains cant carry people with no seats. This was why Im saying. freight trains are c container trains so where do you want container loading facilities to be located if not at the ports. Freight trains are flatbeds with nudges at the 4 edges to hold containers or they c some in wagons like tippers.

I know that there is a port at Onne. I actually know when it was commissioned. They are building a new port at Onne. Sorry, I meant Bonny. They are building a new port in Bonny and the rail line will extend from Onne to Bonny.

The goals of this rail modernisation is to ensure that there are rail lines leading to all the ports, in order to reduce the damage that trucks cause on our roads. That's why the Lagos-Kano line has an arm that leads to Apapa Port. They are even thinking of extending it to Tin Can Island Port.

Of course the minister knows that there is a line in Port Harcourt. He signed a deal with General Electric so that they would manage and upgrade the line.

The trains are both passenger and freight trains.
Here is what he said back then
https://www.pulse.ng/news/chibuike-amaechi-i-never-knew-nigerian-railways-were-functioning-says-minister-of/qv5bf56
Well, regards trains at the moment what we seem to have is passenger trains, port to port trains do not join with passenger trains as container trains are special trains and different.I don't know if you have seen a proper container lory that shifts and adjusts itself to 20ft or 40ft containers, that's how fright trains are.Going back to trains at PH, he abandoned the Monorail project after wasting Billions which is pathetic.I still think there is more Economic value for Lagos port linked to Onne port. The decongestion on the Lagos port if this is don would be world-class.
PS.This Electronic Truck call up at the apapa port they are talking about what is that all about, how does it work anyone knows?

1) There is already a rail line from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri. That's the narrow gauge line. It has existed for decades. The line to Jos was built by the colonialists, while the extension from Jos to Maiduguri was built during the First Republic.

2) That line is going to run from the new port at Onne, through Port-Harcourt, Aba, Enugu, Makurdi, Jos, etc. up to Maiduguri. So you see, it's not just for people going to or from Maiduguri.

3) People in Maiduguri also need to get goods from the ports in the south and they also need to send goods down to the south.
I know where the line passes, my house is in PH, But going by what this honorable Minister of transportation said earlier, he did not know PH has a railway track even though it's less than 100meters from the government house..
Onne Port is not a new port, its been there for ages I shipped containers fru there 6 years ago and its still in operation.People move with goods and B4 goods. As things stand we do not have a goods only carriage, its all passenger trains.

Sentiments aside a Lagos to Calabar rail makes the least sense. Railways are typically built to move stuff inland and from inland to the port.

With ports in Warri, PortHarcourt ,Calabar and soon Uyo. What would be the economic value of a railway running parallel to the coast?

Railway cannot be primarily designed to move passengers. It will never be profitable.

Its more sensible to get the ports in Warri, PH and Calabar working effectively.
Nah rail from Lagos to PH would be the best thing that ever happened to 9ja, at least no Bandit on that route.I can Land i n Lagos and take train to PH.

Stop talking nonsense, I entertained you against my best judgment because I know people like you, the more I explain and try to clear things up for you, the more you bring up more irrelevant rubbish to confuse yourself with just because you are not man enough to admit that you don't know what you are talking about.

Off-grid solar systems operate from the stored energy in a battery bank. Solar panels generate power to charge the battery bank.

Hybrid is self-explanatory even though I understand the reason why you confused yourself because you thought hybrid means something must be connected to the main grid to charge something when in fact such is not the case here hence the word off-grid.

The basic meaning of off-grid should have spurred your brain to so recognize the fact that it means no connection to the grid for any reason including to charge anything. In off-grid situations, you don't need the grid to charge your batteries or to do anything for you.

This is the company the FG gave the contract to, they built all the off-grid hybrid power projects all over Nigeria, it says right there, off-grid- hybrid.

Even if what I posted did not show you off-grid, are you so incompetent and unable to google on your own to confirm, deny or just come up with your own researched facts to prove your point instead of sitting here arguing blindly and making yourself sound ignorant.?

Your ignorant rubbish and whatever contraptions you have in your house or lying that you have doesn't change fact that the solar hybrid off-grid system we are talking about is a stand-alone off-grid system to independently function without any connection to the grid.

The hybrid off-grid system we are talking about here is a combination of solar and batteries with zero connection to the main grid.

The keyword and the word that your low IQ won't let you absorb into your skull is OFF-GRID.

Off-grid means NO connection to the main grid for any reason including charging.

See the illustration below for the difference between on-grid and off-grid.

Off-grid means no connection to the power lines, what you have and just explained has a connection to the power life

Understand the difference and stop acting like a 2-year-old with zero ability to learn, read, comprehend and understand basic English.
