And all these impunity happened under Jonathan the ineffectual buffon.
But some fool won't see this.
Foolish hypocrites.

That is why I keep saying there is no difference between Niger Delta militants that killed, bombed, raped and destroyed this nation in PDP 16 years of failure. Militants, Boko Haram, bad one among the herdsmen, Ipob terrorists, ritualists are all the same.
But for foolish hypocrites, na only herdsmen be d devil.
God punish all of una hypocrites and the one hiding the truth always.

You know dem name well, they are nothing but fools.

Racoon, That is the only thing you can type.
Your shortest post/comment in your history on Nairaland.
You stopped at that when you suddenly realised it is during the tenure of your party of looters that you supported for 16 years!
You quickly swallowed all the venom you wanted to spill out to Buhari as u do 24/7 for your 5 naira per post daily job.
What a Hypocrite you are. Shame.
Omenkalives,Simplyleo, thatfairguy una see am so.
Life of an hypocrite.
So with this ur long epistle, they stopped repairing pipeline 2015 as if NNPC is a political party, are the thieves from 2015 go be this year 2021?
Until people like you realize that the bigger thieves are not the ones in Abuja but the everyday man in the various civil service we are doomed in 9ja

The car is the 2008 model, engine and body are in great shape but the underneath is really rusted
Bro no disrespect a 2008 year car is an old car, your mileage in your car must be over 130k,take a look at a main gate at a compound after just 5 years if you don't see rust..What Im trying to say is simple once your car is above 10 years then the rest of its usage is management. If you check on your car's manual you will be shocked at what you need to change once your car passes the 100K mark, B4 I forget have you changed the ball jointhuh?if not you better do it b4 you look like one of them cars you see in those sad situations!

Anyone who can't afford 3k for VIN check has no business owning a car. Let the person take whatever he sees like that that.
I meant buy direct from a dealer abroad.

Oga, las las, they're almost the same price.
A car dealer in Texas I know sold to me at the same price with the prize in our market here.
Dealership in the U.S sells cars at lower prices the shipping and customs brings the price to the same level with out dealers here.

For U.S car dealers the prices depends on the mileage on the car.
The lower the mileage, the higher the price.
Higher mileage, lower price.
1st off its not just the mileage of a car one must watch cos a 200k miles car might have had the Engine recon so you are dead wrong there, service history is your best option,
2nd the age of your car determines how much duty you must pay as cars whether brand new or old cost the same thing to ship so you gain more by shipping a newer car than shipping a 20-year-old car. thirdly dealers can never sell cheaper than private sales reason they have overhead, they pay staff, pay rent, pay for utility security insurance etc.\the private seller declares his/her cr off-road and can come down cos of no overhead. At least we forgot, the dealer also would have bought the car from someone or as partex or from Insurance companies. You can check auto trader to see price variation btw dealers and private sales.

Rust is like a menace to cars. Once u see extensive rust run, it affects aluminum parts faster. Iron parts can still hold up. Any car from Canada shud be checked for this cos of the longer cold weather there.
Aluminum does not rust bro, you talking a totally different thing here.Y do you think Range rovers are expenssive

That's true bro.
After my experience, 90% of cars in the market are accidented cars. You can confirm by checking the VIN though it cost about 3k or more.
I'd advise anyone to buy directly from car dealers in the U.S it's the best way to purchase a car. I never had regrets.
How many people do you think can afford that??

Can anyone advise? Thank God this thread is for car lovers. I have a cousin who wants to buy between a Golf 3 and a Toyota Yaris...(that very tiny toyota) he wants to give it to a driver for cab..I advised him on golf 3 because the parts are cheap. But isn't that an outdated car?
This where the problem starts, a golf 3 a very old car on Nigerian roads for transport on the roads which are by default Off roads, is that not a problem already?

who will even allow you to look under the car, if you don't want to buy brother go another place
why won't they allow you to look under? even the people selling the car do not look under so do no know what to expect. Do not forget most car dealers are not the owners of cars so do not know.

Road salt used to melt snow on the road corrodes the under part of cars. It snows heavily in countries like Canada, so I'm not surprised when people say Canadian cars are often affected.
Not all Road salt is acidic. If it was mined from a freshwater river or from the ground it won't be that harsh..

Why use metal for fuel tank instead of plastic or thermosetting plastic.

The fuel filters will block from time to time due to metal particles.
that was what they used with the Old cars, It was this that propmted teh change to fiber/plastic tanks.

Wish I could apply anti-rust too but this is beyond, see fuel tank for instance, I had to change the arm too and car was looking very attractive, engine is superb too, if not that I notice smell of petrol while driving and the vehicle seems to consume fuel than normal, I wouldn't have known something like that is underneath, ordinary finger will pierce iron in the arm.
YOu failed to tell us the age of this car, HOW OLD IS THE CAR?

So update on this.

I put in my bid Aug 12th & won.

Car is worth 2.5 - 3m Tokunboh (I'd been looking for the particular car for over a year but most were salvaged or very high mileage) but I paid N500k (+1k participation fee) grin

Vehicle was a clean title (I checked the VIN) tokunboh seized late 2019 crossing over from Cotonou (Found Original US title, Service Booklet and Manual as well as Cotonou Shipping and customs papers in the Glove box), it had only done 200 miles from last mileage recorded when it was sold in the US.

I sent someone to bring it out (Idiroko office) very annoying process.

2 Tyres & wheels were missing along with the key, amplifier, etc but it was 1st body, perfect paint, no dents and engine and transmission superb.
Some other people were lucky though and everything was complete, they put in battery, started and drove off!

Travelled to Idiroko myself 2 weeks later with a Ladipo Mechanic to start it and make a key.

Spent an additional 1.1m (logistics + settlements for first person I sent, my flights, hotels for a week + parts & labour)

Drained all fluids and replaced
Changed all tires and got alloy wheels
Checked and fixed all suspension components (long parking)
Changed all brake pads and co
Changed windshield that was cracked and radiator
Replaced Amp, and some controls that were stolen
The AC was still working perfectly so didn't have to touch it.

I've been using the car daily since 2nd September and I've only been fuelling it, no check engine lights, no other warning lights, nothing and no customs wahala when I travel as I have their exit note.

@soloehis you should really research before you make comments.

I like to know if breaking this law is Criminal or civil.Cos if it's civil then only a fine can be administered and to the 172 if they have no means to pay then nothing can be done to them in all I think a waste of time on the part of the govt to the less privileged.
