How do you know what Russia planned for the war? Were you a party to the decision making? We need to quit regurgitating all these nonsense people write on the media. Nobody goes to war with and says they will win a war in 3 days or one month. Ukraine is the second largest country in Europe after Russia(by land mass). It's very foolish for anyone to say Russia planned to defeat Ukraine in 3 days or 1 month. When I hear people say such, I usually wonder what the level of their IQ is. We're talking about well fortified cities with bomb shelters from the soviet era and people just assume Russia will breeze in and out like it's nothing. As far as I am concerned, NATO and the west are the cause of the nonsense happening in Ukraine. They were urging Ukraine on from the onset and Zelensky was stating how they are a sovereign nation and have the right to join NATO and nobody can do anything. After the bombings started and the destruction of the country started in bits, he now decided that they won't be joining NATO. Isn't that foolishness? Something that could have been avoided. NATO that was threatening severe consequences if Russia attacks, and was sounding like they would come to the defense of Ukraine, has only been supporting without getting physically involved. I'm sure if Zelensky knew that they would not get involved physically, he would have taken a different approach to the whole conflict, and would have focused on a peaceful resolution. Russia has lost men and resources, Ukraine has lost men, resources, development, citizens, economy, etc. There's absolutely nothing to be proud about in this conflict.

The question you should have asked is, has Russia won the war now? Have they now taken Kyiv as initially planned?

The annexed region, including Crimea are a fraction of Ukraine, if you know the land mass...it's quite huge. That said, their mission there wouldn't have ever been possible without the support of the separatists, those who have been pro Russia from the world go, those who were owners of that place and joined Russia to fight Ukraine. Its just like saying biafra is supporting an external aggressor like russia to fight Nigeria. Biafra has been saying they wanted to go so it wouid be easy for them to join forces with the aggressor to fight the entire Nigeria and if south east is annexed, how does that affect the entire Nigeria in land mass and population?

Without that arrangement, it would have been a futile mission for Russia. You can't come to my home and I give you the support you need and you'd not stay. That's exactly what the separatists did. They don't want to be under Ukraine anymore. In spite of this, Ukraine is still waxing stronger. Honesty speaking, the war didn't go as planned by Russia. We thought of this yesterday. Since independence, no sense of belonging , no futuristic leadership, no sensible leaders who could have helped put Nigeria on the map
We're so blessed as a nation yet, living like paupers. Leaders would only come, loot and go and the trend continues. while the likes of those called the BRICS today were busy developing their nations, we were sleeping. Obasanjo was head of state when Indonesia came to learn of oil palm plantation, the claim which obj shamefully denied despite the fact that those whom Indonesians met in his government back then were still alive and attested to the fact. Indonesia became the world largest exporters of palm oil a few decades later. Obj turned operation feed the nation to Obasanjo Farm Nigeria by the tine he was leaving as military head of state, the acronym OFN remained but with different full meanings .

You see? Tell me how a country could ever develop in a situation like this. Shagari came and looted. Only Buhari/Idiagbon meant well for Nigeria but their administration was short-lived by coup. IBB came and made it worse. Abacha came and was busy taking Nigerian fortunes away and keeping them in foreign banks, using Bagudu, one of the current APC governors as his courier. Yaradua would have been another messiah but he was taken off by death at the early state of his administration. GEJ, the mumu leader was installed but what did he do? Corruption only held sway. Apc came, thinking buhari of the 80s wouid sanitize Nigeria. For where? Now we're beginning to believe what some were speculating in the 80s, that it was idiagbon who was ruling and not Buhari, that the latter was a mere figure head.

Today, Nigeria would have been raising shoulders with the likes of America in development. Why did I say so? Mention Any leading corporations in the world where you'd not find a Nigerian heading a key position? They're even in the government of most western countries, in their defence, building their economy etc. The Russia everyone is talking about today is just a step ahead of Nigeria in gas enrichment. They're 8th in the world while were 9th.

Among the crop of politicians vying for the presidential seat today, only 2 of them mean well. The rest would come and loot.

Ask me the solution to Nigeria's problem...

I never believed Russia could stay this long in Ukraine with their level of preparation. See those heavy tanks line up in procession into Ukraine, as if the world wouid just end. Some even said WW3 had begun. Ukraine ended up destroying most of them including their modern fighter jets and overrated warship. They lost great men and generals too. Most of the time, those who don't make noise are more dangerous.

Sometime ago, a gang of robbers threatened to visit the man whose street we lived in was named after. He's a wealthy and popular man in Lagos in the 90s. He didn't talk nor inform the police about the threats but he was well prepared for them. On the fateful night, they came, shot in the air to scare security personnel manning the street gates.

By the time they entered this man's house, only one managed to escape. He brought down about 5 of them, while the 2 of them keeping vigil on the streets zoomed off together with the one who managed to escape with heavy gunshot wounds. They came for his money cos in the 90s, people were keeping money at home, unlike now that Internet banking has taken over, except our politicians. What a lesson !

No country would take Russia seriously again in the future.

He hasn't said anything wrong. I read the post again and again as well, to see if he got anything wrong. If it's same Lagos-Ibadan expressway where I pass all the time, it can't he completed in such a short time, except they'd now be working day and night, which I doubt. There are some portions of the road as well, which got burnt due to petrol tanker accident caused by reckless driving leading to spilling of fuel on the road which gutted fire in the process . It would be our joy if they can deliver this time cos this isn't the first time they'd fail on deadlines especially on same road. Funding was a major factor at a time so we undestand.
