of course planes are safer, but boldness and an inquisitive mind leads to scientific innovation. Lockheed martin is trying to reintroduce the use of balloons in cargo transportation.

People place less and less value on their lives thesedays
it is not a matter of placing value on life, it is simple science. helium is a gas that is lighter than air, same with hydrogen gas. before the invention of modern aircrafts balloons were actually used to fly from one place to another.

Chai! Some Nigerian youth with "akamu" brain. can't we be objective for once? I can't imagine how people are beginning to say nonsense without actually knowing what really transpired.
1. Is he the only one that passed there yesterday or has been passing there?
2. Are the people mad to just start pursuing after him?
3. have they been chasing others like that?
Let's learn to intelligently reason things through before we start ranting nonsense.
What sort of questions are u asking? Is it legal for anyone to engage on a dangerous road chase of another driver? So if in the course of the chase an accident had occurred and lives had been lost u will be asking these questions?
PoliticsRe: FG Releases Breakdown Of 2017 VAT Revenue For 10 Months by ernieboy(m): 8:42am On Nov 01, 2017
obua:
Vat comes mainly from companies. Absence of key factors of production makes the south east unattractive for industries. If you remove oil industry based companies from the SS, there won't be much in the SS. Ogun is faring well due to proximity to Lagos and lagos ports. What are the IGR and vat collection for Osun, Ekiti and Ondo states
vat is value added tax, it is paid by consumers and included at point of purchase, it has nothing to do with the presence of companies.

They are Nigerians and they have the right to graze their cattles in any part of the federation. Banning them isn't the solution, we need to plead with them and create an enabling environment for their business to thrive. After all, we can't live a day without eating meat
did u say we me d to plead with them? whao with people like u in this country this country will not move forward.

well dat's a possibility, especially with all these our naija used vehicles, otherwise the passenger cell in a vehicle is supposed to keep out exhaust gas and some never vehicles even have an air filtration system.

(just in case you are tempted to spew an irrational and ignorant cause like those mentioned above, the first culprit in their death should be carbon monoxide poisoning)

Update: I spoke too soon. See quote below
how does carbon monoxide get into the car? they are more likely to die from suffocation but the ac is said to be on.

what is the probability that both of them just died at the same time? except there is some form of drug involved it looks fishy.

Nigeria has a lot of loopholes for easy money making. A bank manager in Nigeria could make 1million Dollar overnight through shady deals and you will be busy calculating 1,500 Dollar for him.
and is that a positive thing?

Bro we know you as an heavyweight when it comes to travelling section but most times you like hiding the truth. How many americans have$10,000 saved up? I am even talking about those with middle class jobs. Saving 10k is a milestone for majority of the country
Americans don't see savings the way Nigerians do, they would rather have their funds in stocks and various trust funds for their kids. u take savings as a measure of wealth, but the fact is that any liquid cash kept in a bank continues to depreciate on a daily basis so savvy and enlightened people tend to keep a very small percentage of their case in liquid form.
TravelRe: Lies Of Nigerians Living In America by ernieboy(m): 10:37am On Oct 29, 2017

back from ghost modegrin

Bro one thing you don't understand about America is that they don't have African man mentality where you save millions in the bank (bank doing business with your money and making cool cash). Americans enjoy life as if rapture will happen tomorrow, they already have everything running smoothly for them. So why saving? Forget about the issue of money in the bank for Americans cos they don't give a f** about that.

over & outgrin
I taya for this guy, Americans would rather own stocks than have a huge pile of cash in the bank. most of them have investment managers for this purpose.

OP , I totally understand that there's no place like home. But the way you make your point doesn't worth it, yes most of these guys in America do menial jobs yet they have built duplexes and has many Landed properties in Nigeria, this is called investment wise. Oh, you think they spend all their money in the states? Again I never saw where you mentioned social amenities like constant power supply, good road, health facilities, water etc. At least they pay tax and enjoy what the money is being used for. Please don't be biased in your judgement. Thanks
thank u those folks pay taxes and see the benefits of their tax in the society.

Even a senior RN with an annual salary of $75,000 in America can't be compared to a Bank Manager in Nigeria. Enough with their ridiculous joke!
a bank manager can only build his two houses in Nigeria and have his investments in naira, if he attempts to take his money outside the value will fizzle out very fast due to conversion rates. however the person earning $2000 can also send his money to Nigeria and have 2 houses and similar investments withe bank manager.

EducationRe: "Babcock University Spends 20 Million On Electricity Monthly" - Vice Chancellor by ernieboy(m): 6:25pm On Oct 28, 2017
OlujobaSamuel:
it will never gulp such amount monthly even if it comes with its cost.
are you insinuating that maintaining an ipp is more expensive than national grid/generating plants at #20m/monthly?
I seriously doubt that cost of maintaining ipp is much more than that of generating plants as most firms in the manufacturing sector and livestock farming are now opting for it(for those thaf have the capacity)
Our institutions should start solving technical issues within, that way, they build the society.
of course national grid is cheaper than IPP, the only reason people opt for IPP is because of the unreliable nature of the national grid. mind u that that 20m claimed by Babcock may not only be NEPA, it will probably also include cost of running generators when there is no public supply.

it is wrong to generalise and say "Edo bride" Edo state has a lot of ethnic groups and divisions and not all of them dresses this way. I'm from Edo state and the part i am from our brides don't dress this way during wedding. be specific and say "Benin bride".
why not upload pics of how brides dress in your tribe.
EducationRe: "Babcock University Spends 20 Million On Electricity Monthly" - Vice Chancellor by ernieboy(m): 4:59pm On Oct 28, 2017
OlujobaSamuel:
the initial cost might be high, but at the long run, it's favourable. 240m in 5yrs is 1.2bn, that should give them an ipp that will cater for their needs.
am not talking of the initial cost, but the recurrent cost. if they go with gas, we know how volatile supply can be, if they go with diesel it could get v expensive buying diesel to run the plant .
EducationRe: "Babcock University Spends 20 Million On Electricity Monthly" - Vice Chancellor by ernieboy(m): 4:48pm On Oct 28, 2017
chukzyfcbb:
20million = school fees of 20-25 Babcock Students.

and you have over 3000students, so I don't see why you are crying oga Vc. Money deyyyy
but sch fees is not monthly, it is usually per session.
EducationRe: "Babcock University Spends 20 Million On Electricity Monthly" - Vice Chancellor by ernieboy(m): 4:46pm On Oct 28, 2017
OlujobaSamuel:
that's #240m in a yr, the sch should build an ipp for their use.
all dis our schools that cant even solve internal problem, yet them dey produce graduate for external problem, it is well oo
so what will they us to power the IPP? gas ? diesel? they still need to buy it. and it might even end up costing more, except they go with solar or wind, assuming they have a conducive space.

no one is stopping you from practising polygamy. there are other religions which permit it, but before you go ahead take a good look at most folks who have polygamous families, aside from Christianity most polygamous homes are full of rivalry, strife and disunity. if u can cope with that then go ahead.

Get a good history book.

Ilorin was never conquered by jihadist!
it was. u are the one who needs a good history lesson. there are different types of conquests. conquest must not necessarily come from open warfare. if it was never conquered how come the present dynasty is that of a Fulani lineage when we know that illorin is historically a Yoruba community? and how was the Fulani hegemony able to take over from afonja was it a friendly handover? are u also aware that aluimi was one of the flagbearers of Dan fodio in the sokoto jihad? it is even shameful that while other communities put up stiff resistance and in places like Bornu( old kenem Bornu empire) they actually defeated the jihadists, illorin was unable to put up any form of resistance and infact was one of the easiest conquests by the jihadists.

That's what is called "image laundering". It doesn't deny the matter on ground, it just seeks to toss a Red herring.
what has Glo( our indigenous company) done by way of charitable social projects apart from doling out millions to celebrities? whether u people like it or not they are still the best telecom operator in Nigeria.
PhonesRe: MTN Headquarters Office In Lagos, Nigeria (Photos) by ernieboy(m): 10:46pm On Oct 22, 2017
MrMcJay:
Picture 1 is Golden Plaza in Falomo in Ikoyi.
Picture 3 is in Victoria Island off Akin Adesola.
The other 2 pictures aren't MTN headquarters.

FYI, Golden Plaza doesn't belong to MTN, they are tenants there. MTN is such an irresponsible company that 16 years, 5 months and 7 days after it came into Nigeria, the headquarters is still in a rented Plaza.

MTN comes into Nigeria, makes billions of dollars here, moves it out of Nigeria through Stanbic and our National Assembly lawmakers are afraid of clamping down on this economic robbery.

The problem is that when MTN hires sound lawyers to defend them, is it people in the National Assembly like Dino Melaye that would reply MTN? Dino that can't even write a single paragraph without falling into grammatical epilepsy.
when foreign investors come into an economy it is expected that they repatriate their profits to their home countries otherwise there will really not be any need for them to bring in their funds to invest. even our diaspora citizens repatriate funds home even though they don't have tangible investments in their host countries.
