I do not understand why the old Benin kings never saw the strategic location of Lagos to have harnessed it when they conquered the war camp and called it Eko. Since they all use the same transmission system,all that might be needed to change is to just go and register with Ikeja Disco either online or at their office in Jos. ..and then get your Ikeja DISCO meter installed in your house at Jos.

(I guess eventually, we may have something like a Universal meter that can be adapted to use by any disco...but that is another story).

The only issue is that Ikeja Disco might end up having to pay many GENCOS at once.

u don't get it, the poles, transformer and distribution wires that pass through ur house are owned by the disco in ur locality, the only way any one else can supply u power is to lay new poles, transformer and wires, which is not very practicable.

1. Meters , everyone gets metered. ( people may bypass the meter though)

2. Allow Discos to operate in parts of the country outside their catchment area. If I live in Jos and I think my bills are too high, I could sign up with Ikeja disco whose billing is lower and pay their bills while living in Jos.

This could force down bill cost via competition, and even attract more customers

3. Nigerians should pay their bills as and at when due. Same goes for govt agencies .

4.At some point, we may need to take a loan of $100billion to improve generation. Because really we need $300billion to fix everything

if u sign up with Ikeja disco and live in jos, how will Ikeja disco supply u power? will they lay new poles and wires to connect u in Jos or do u think jos disco will allow another company use their distribution lines?

Workers at the Centre South Construction Company, CSCC, in Ogun State on Monday protested their 72-hour incarceration by the management over a theft at its construction site.
The workers told News Agency of Nigeria that over 30 workers were locked in at the firm’s three construction sites since Friday and were only set free on Monday morning.
NAN reports that CSCC, the Chinese firm handling the construction of Sango-Ota–Mowe Road, has three construction sites at Sango-Ota, Oke-Aro and Mowe in Ogun.
The lock in, according to the workers who were on weekend duty, was to prevent them from stealing the company’s property.
According to the workers, the management also put out electricity and water supply in the premises, prompting the stranded workers to rely on hawkers passing by the gate.
The workers told NAN that they were shocked when the management ordered that those on weekend duty should be locked in the three company’s premises on Friday.
They said they could not leave the premises until the company’s senior officials resumed at 7 a.m. on Monday.
They wondered why workers in the three formations had to suffer for the theft of the company’s items which occurred at Sango-Ota.

Many Nigerians don't go for check up until they're sick but the data from those sick people shows that some certain diseases prevalent in the Western world are minimal in our part of the world. I expected you to mention things like their eating habits and environment and also stronger immunity as some of the reason its so but you never did. How you ever wondered how some people are able to drink dirty pond water and survive for centuries while a white man from the developed world would die immediately after a short time? u talked about mosquito do u know that according to a study by the univ of Ibadan about 1.5 m people die of malaria yearly. there are even stronger strains coming out now. in the recent past we witnessed the outbreak of cholera in some parts of Nigeria and u are here telling us that people can drink dirty pond water and not fall sick.

I'm not a doctor but I'm talking from first hand experience. I'm not talking about population but percentage. A high percentage of Americans are suffering from one sickness or the other. The common sickness in Nigeria is typhoid and malaria. I have friends and family here and in the US. From my experience there, a high percentage of Americans are suffering from some serious illness that requires an operation. Many people there survive on blood thinners. Some can't sleep without having some machines close by. Don't talk like I don't have friends in Nigeria anymore and don't know the type of sicknesses existing here.
