Maitama-Yusuf, 74, served as Minister of Internal Affairs in 1978 and later as Minister of Commerce in 1982.
He served as senator representing Jigawa South-West at the National Assembly between 1999 and 2007, initially on the platform of the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP), but he later defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He also contested for the governorship of Jigawa State in 2007.
In 1983, Maitama-Yusuf was accused of corruption by the Muhammadu Buhari military regime of 1983 to 1985. However, he went into exile to avoid prosecution.

Those ones were added later. These are the 40 on the original list issued by CBN and signed by Buhari or so. You want to see a copy of it?

I guess this implies there would be a fall in prices of these commodities in the Nigerian markethuh?

Buhari was a buffoon for banning these items when the Nigerian producers haven't acquired enough capacity to meet demands.
I wanted to respond to you, but then your name got me laughing out loudly. Now I have destroyed my device in the process. grin

In June, 2015, immediately that nonsense Buhari entered office, he banned 40 items from being imported into Nigeria. Tinubu has ordered the immediate cancellation of that Ban. Nigerians are now free to import the following 40 listed products. They are no longer contraband.

Have you checked the requirements to become a stock broker registered
Do not go that direction. I have lost some money to thieves called stockbrokers, fully registered by the NSE, now NGX.

Do not even go that direction.

Where is Cashcraft today? Where is Maininvest today? Where is Partnership Investment Company Plc today? Where is First Alstate Securities Limited today? I would have even added Adonai Stockbrokers join, but by then I had learnt the game, so I managed to escape them unhurt.

As I said, Stockbrokers are the most trusted people on earth. It is part of the game. We win some, and we lose some.

This is the last time I will mention the 5 things that Nigeria needs to end immediately

1. NECO
2. NABTEB
3. JAMB (UTME)
4. Post-UTME
5. NYSC.

If I am finally made the Minister of Education, I will end these 5 things even before I resume office.

Again in August 24, 2004, this Oando PLC offered by way of Rights of 20,384,957 ordinary Shares of 50 Kobo each @N95.00 per share payable in full on acceptance. Is it not shameful that this Oando PLC is now using subtlety, mago-mago, wuru-wuru to buy back at scrap value of N7.00 per shares, those Shares it sold at N95.00 per share in 2004, and @N70.00 in 2010? This is lamentable, and those who are at the top echelon of Oando, and the Nigerian Capital Market, should hide their heads, in shame. When the law is broken, there must be consequences, either here, or in the hereinafter. It is not yet over, until it is finally and completely over!

I just get annoyed each time Oando PLC is mentioned here. Sadly some of you keep a conspiracy of silence over the ignoble roles of this organization. In 2010, Oando offered for sale through Public Offering in the Capital Market a total of 301,694,876 ordinary Shares of 50k each N70.00 each and today this very PLC is buying back these shares at N7.00 per share from the investors of 2010. Futhermore, Oando stopped paying dividends for over ten years now or so. Yet, you are all keeping quiet about this scam. I can't understand this country.
I can quickly point to AP rising to over N250. change to FO, and later delisted as Ardova, and paid about N19.25k to shareholders. Shame.
