Shut up! All appointment are subject to approval by the President.
If one's ignorance has reached its climax, no amount of explanation wld suffice. So in ur own political wisdom, d president must approve of d speaker's election? Lyk seriously? there is no part of d constitution dt stipulates dt(to d best of my knowledge o)

Lemme educate u Bro, d president only influences d selection process by bribing d lawmakers who are in his caucus to vote in line with his choice. In d case whr it doesn't work out, he resorts to coercion(As in Amaechi VS Jang's NGF scenerio). All d Barristers & Law students in d house, make una help us judge ds matter o.

There is no need to place too much emphasises on a gone case. Tambuwal was a nobody before GEJ appointed him speaker of House of Rep, today Tambuwal has returned back to obscurity.

The honourable thing to do Tambuwal as done in any civilised country or model democracy such as the US and UK, is to resign ur post as speaker first and then defect to the opposition.

We have examples of American Congressman and UK MPs that have done so. Defecting is not the problem but resignation? Oh well, prepare for impeachment.

Mods, I know nairaland is an APC site alongside sahara reporters but stop hiding comments that criticise APC.
I guess it's ur ignorance dt shld be hidden cheesy

4 ur information Sir, Jonathan never appointed or even nominated Tambuwal. It was Hon Mulikat Adegbola(from Oyo State) one of his concubines dt he nominated nd d Progressives led by our indefatigable Asiwaju rejected her. Instead, d APC pitched thr tent with Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.

All of u dt criticised APC's decision den, can u now see d result? Av alwz told all doz PDP clown, politics is a game of strategy. Nd lyk war, it's only d end dt justifies d means. So Sir, go enrol urself @ d nearest APC accredited tutorial centre for political re-orientation. grin

Abi you think it is a come and chop position? You obviously need some accounting classes. As for what he is prominent for, I said it before and saying again

As for GOS, He never served as a state Legislator. Let me help you out,
He was Chairman, Mushin LGA, In 2003 he contested for the AD Ticket of Lagos West against incumbent Senator Tokunbo Afikunyomi and LOST the Primaries. His was compensated with the AD ticket for Federal House of Reps which was originally won by some guy(forgot his name), because AD couldn't afford to lose some influential members as Funsho Williams of PDP was making wave. Tinubu played smart to keep some mushin votes to the purse(which paid off).
He contested for the Governorship primaries in 2007 and lost to Fashola, but he started his troubles again, AC then can't afford to lose a chunk of Mushin, because of PDP and Koro were making waves and everything was tensed. However, he was given the AC ticket for Lagos Central in 2007.
He was rejected by Lagos Central constituents in 2011 for POOR showing, and was moved to Lagos West by APC, with Remi flying Lagos Central.

Whate are/were his achievements? What is he famous for?Nothing!!! he CAN't Return to the Senate, and Can't be Governor. He is a bad market.
Get ur fact ryt Sir! GOS never occupied d seat of Lagos central senatorial district. From 1999-2003; Dr. Wahab Dosunmu(AD), 2003-2007; Musiliu Obanikoro(AD), 2007-2011; Muniru Muse(ACN). 2011 till date; Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu.

If u cld just pinpoint which aspect of Lagos politics u wish to discuss, maybe I cld just engage u. wink

Besides, has anyone heard 4rm Prince Ademola Adeniji Adele? I was expecting to see his poster.

Slaves rolling on the ground for their slavemasters since time immemorial!.

Who is still doubting the betrayal nature of Yorubas,in Southern Nigeria politics?.

When are these arsholes of a dark-brain,gonna be free from their taskmasters, even in thìs century, when slavery has been abolished?.

Permit me to have a soft sport for some sensible Yorubas, both here in Nairaland, and in real life!.
Na wa o! Som tyms I wish nairaland had d ignored button, Wld av simply ignored ur senseless post. but 4d sake of other jingoists I wld like to enlighten u on how not to throw tantrums.

Now let's get started. in Wat way av d Yorubas benefitted from GEJ dt wil warrant dem voting for him lyk dey did in 2011? also, here is an administration dt treated us wit utmost disdain by sidelining us. Sentiments apart, wat has GEJ reali done to deserve a re-election? Is it in d area of security, Education, Agriculture, Commerce, Power & Steel, Health care, Housing, Employment? Just mention.

Lastly, if d western region decides not to vote him I don't think dt warrants such 'betrayal tag' U'r putting on us. It's politics Bro, nd we av a ryt to support or oppose whoever we chose to.

Unlyk u, I'll not resort to name-calling & tantrum throwing to buttress my point. A logical argument would suffice. wink

Raiders:
you mean a person like Fashola. I don't think APC is ready to win the presidental elections. All their aspirants are former PDP members and a man that has lost elections 3 times. If they are serious about 2015 then they should give the ticket to Gov Fashola. If not they should forget 2015.
Na wa o! Fashola's e-warriors have invaded ds thread wit thr campaign wagon huh

Lest we forget dt politics is a game of numbers. Let's say an average Westerner vote for Fashola because of his antecedents wat wil happen to d Northern votes? Or av u forgotten dt an average Notherner wil never vote for a Christian Southerner under a free & fair circumstance?

APC's political permutation is palpably clear to all nd sundry; Present a credible Notherner nd u'l get a sweeping vote in d North. With a Yoruba running mate nd d influence of our 'indefatigable' Asiwaju of Nigeria, S/W is a closed chapter.

Little should we forget dt all South-South & South-East wil vote GEJ even if d APC presents Jesus Christ. 4get thr tongue in-cheek clamour for a better Nigeria. Our position on 2015 election is crystally clear; We wana boot GEJ & all his cronies outta Govt. So help us God
