I meant to comment on this thread when I saw this last night.... When I tell you that this story made my night, I mean it every word of it. I followed this story on Youtube last year and my heart broke watching this baby...a tiny baby nude on the street barely hanging on for life. I could not believe what I was seeing! Even more distressing was "why" the baby was there! Literally no words! I'm telling you Nigerians, superstition is gonna be one of the main destroyers of many of you. But, and thank the Lord God Almighty, I'm here looking at a happy, healthy, very handsome little boy! When I tell you the joy in my heart to see a happy ending! The Lord sent an angel via the woman to save that precious baby and look at him now! I hope a loving family adopts him...if not her. I wish I could go there and get him to raise him myself...that's really and sincerely how overjoyed I am. God has a purpose for the little guy. |
Dtruthspeaker:Hmmm.... Well I can't vouch for others, but I didn't know the late Steve Jobs nor Mr. Toyota. I don't think I knew the I-phone better than Mr. Jobs simply because he created it. I wasn't there nor do I know the nuiances that went into making such a product..same goes for the Toyota brand... Both are tremendously good products, but I could never know more than their creators. Yes, the enemy has been on this planet way, way longer than me...and only knows knows my weaknesses and strengths because he has studied me for the sole purpose of destroying my soul. However, he is NOT my Maker or Creator and can only go so far. My strengths (through Christ) which he also sees, are what infuriates him. A child of God cannot fight the enemy ever in his/her own strength, but only through Christ' power & righteousness. The enemy knows that God has a pathway for His obedient and surrendered children...and how powerful we can be through Christ....if only we would but trust Him... The key ingredient is strength in Jesus. |
MuttleyLaff:Well last I knew, a "nail" is an inanimate object incapable of making any type of communicable sounds, looks or gestures. I got a ban on this (my original moniker) because of a biblical stance that I took. So what it told me was to basically "shut up" and accept what was said regardless. So clearly, I do not have "freedom of speech or religious belief"...which is something I've not experienced before. As far as "spamming", I have never ever been involved in or been an acessory to any illegal activity in my years of life on planet earth....contrary to how I've been portrayed on this forum for my 4 year stay. I only posted those writings for (2) reasons: 1). Data there in Nigeria is expensive and many cannot afford it, so I chose to write out what I felt was powerful info for some people here...to read while they browsed through Nairaland. 2). Many people here, including myself, are concerned about clicking on infected links...which is why I wrote down the info on some of my threads for people to go and read more. I had "0" sinister intentions for posting about freedom in Christ Jesus...through my threads. I am not an alarmist...but I can't control folks' opinions of me. I am a person who has experienced the joys and peace of Jesus and who wants others to experience the same. My apologies to the owner for using up disk space by posting too long threads. I think I had a total of "5" threads where I quoted from a book...never was banned for that until a few weeks ago. Sir, I think people get too comfortable in conflict.. chaos....division....deceit...rejoicing in torturing innocent folks...endless debates..mockery... Do you get what I mean? Me...well I'm gonna forever pursue peace now... You take care.. |

Seems like the enemy understands the worth of sincere children of God (cloaked in Christ' righteousness) more than we, ourselves, know oftentimes...which is why he works so hard to destroy us. The weakest saint (crying out to Christ) on his/her knees daily is still more powerful than the enemy... |

I wonder if the rest of the alleged "Christians" on here get so much attacks? As the Son of God the Father, He was born, lived and died carrying a sin-filled world's debt, so that we could be reconciled to Him forever...and sin to be no longer. Anyone who desires to be saved, should sincerely surrender to Jesus Christ...ask Him to save Him....come into his/her life. Then He comes and the process of sanctification comes. That's it. Now I believe that by faith.... You 1000 percent do not....and only those with discernment know what I mean. You type in your intellectual jargon, which I 1000 percent understood..but was kindly asking you to type in simplicity instead of trying to accuse ME of what YOU are doing: ....but one thing I loathe is the false teachings/preachings of those who pretend to belong to Jesus Christ.... false teachers and prophets whose true mission among the flock is to steal from them, kill and destroy their chances at the kingdom of God with their lies and deceit (Quotation of accusation statement by Kobojunkie). I have no power to control anyone's eternal destiny nor do I want to. Each and every person has a responsibility to make a decision "for" or "against" Christ. Again, that minority who have discernment knows who canvasses the religion section 24/7 commenting on 95 percent of the threads....with a very clear "agenda". Now I have noticed that you have been on "attack" mode since the thread I created where you were very rude and condescending (concerning me) while conversing with a guy that I used to be somewhat familiar with. Kobojunkie:Yes, I boldly claim to follow Jesus Christ....correct...as it reads on my personal text. I hope to do so until the day I die....God willing. No--Jesus hasn't spoken to me directly...verbally..... However, He speaks, guides, teachers and rebukes through His Word. No..He never taught "separate...and unequal". He taught different genders...different functions...different responsibilities...yet both humans being "equal". He gives examples/guidelines.....of how His church hierarchical structure should be...which is not oppressive to one gender. Genesis, 1 Timothy, The four gospels, and more books all illustrate that...which I am sure that you sir, or madame, do absolutely know. You understand me quite well.... I have explained my stance a few times( in other threads..and here) and quite thoroughly I may add....never belittling or demeaning women (as I am one myself and know that Nigeria even has some heavy "movers and shakers" in terms of women...even on the world stage). I am speaking about God's hierarchical (so to speak) structure. Women are highly favored by the Lord.....highly...in many ways and many positions. Pastoring a church is not one of them...now that's my stance and I "ain't changing it"....sorry to offend you It's a shame that men (especially those who know the Word) misconstrue, twist and deceive the scriptures. I cannot help that males do not want to take a "lead" or headship role anymore. I cannot help men who don't want to be strong, Godly, bold, men.That is an issue that you guys have to take to the Lord. I know I'm in the minority here, but I've not understood this issue....that I read is rampant in Nigeria. One should be very clear that "he" is called to pastor a church. That absolutely does not automatically qualify his wife.....to be in the same position. Women can minister to people (in many ways), but not pastor a church. I've said it before on a thread that although I am a woman (and believe in respect--meaning no abuse-- for my gender), I would not attend a church where I see a woman pastor, woman elders leading out, or pastoral husband/wife team, because those are all out of the biblical design. There are no biblical guidelines for such. I understand that the couple want to work in ministry together, however, there are many areas for the wife to work and still be the helper for her husband without having to hold a "title". With a husband/wife pastoral team, you really get little accountability because they both are running things, and there is no hierarchical accountability structure. All sorts of temptations such as greed, power-struggles, etc., which all are rooted in the sin of pride, will more than likely occur. |

No sin is greater or lesser than another. No one should harass or physical, verbally, mentally or emotionally abuse someone because of the sinful lifestyle that he/she is in. No one has the right to murder a person because of it either. People have a right to choose how they want to openly live (although clearly in Nigeria that is not the case). However, those that claim to be followers of Christ and who read the Holy Bible....are NOT to interpret scripture how they decide (or what feels right) because of a cultural climate that is promoting an agenda ![]() No one gets to change the WORD OF GOD to fit his/her own desires/inclinations. |
I see that this thread was created years ago, before I stumbled upon this site. Great question though. Answer: A RESOUNDING NO! Exact same behavior... just different countries on different countinents. Nairaland has beautifully shown me that there's no difference. Sometimes I forget that I'm on a Nigerian website. Reminds me so much of the U.S....sadly. One is clearly more oppressed than the other in a huge sense...which makes folks live deceptively. Living "religously" & "biblically-intellectually" without a personal relationship with the Savior means "0". Praying for both of my countries. |
Read your Word folks...i'm imploring you. Prophecy being fulfilled right before our eyes...very, very serious times. Either God the Father is a liar OR the pope. It's one or the other: two spirits. The Father of truth OR the father of lies. Do not be deceived. |

entrep88:I agree with the above bolded FIRST sentence.... However, it was God who told Jonah to go to Ninevah to give them the message of their need to repent. God chose to give mercy on them based ona condition, however the prophesy came from the mouth of God to give to the people through Jonah. Now the second sentence that I bolded, it would depend on what the "prophet/prophetess" is actually prophesying. Prophesy is a spiritual gift given to some...just as the other spiritual gifts. It is supposed to edify the church and glorify God...not man. There is no monetary reward attached to God's method of prophecy. A self-proclaimed prophet can prophesy trivial or general things such as "someone in this room is gonna give birth", or "someone is in a job where they are about to get a promotion", or "a woman in the room is about to be engaged", etc. I'm sure that in a crowd full of hundreds of people, those "prophecies" may be true. That, however does not make someone a true prophet of God. Acts 16:16-18 (KJV) [i]16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: 17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. 18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour[/i]. The damsel spoke the truth (so in a sense you could call her a prophetess), but was she speaking the truth as a mouthpiece for God or for the enemy? She clearly made a ton of money in her "profession", but it wasn't from God. There are tons of other examples of people claiming to be prophets who were not. God even told some that the false prophet wasn't of Him, nor had He spoken the "prophesies" to that person. I guess I'm just trying to warn people to use the Word of God as the ultimate source. If someone claims to be a prophet, then they must meet the criteria for one. It's a solemn and sacred thing to stand as the mouthpiece for the living God--Creator of the universe. There in Nigeria, I can see (through this website and from many YouTube videos) that "prophesying" is big business. The things prophesied are completely foolish, unserious and comical a lot of the times. People want to hear from God, want to be blessed physically and spiritually, amongst other things and people want to hear something that appeals to their inner-man. I get it... It's a problem here in the U.S. as well. What I have seen grieves me, because people clearly aren't reading their Words...they are relying more on a "person", which is dangerous. I am breaking my OWN words (of only communicating on my own threads) to speak on this tremendously important topic. As Isaiah 8:20 states, "To the law and to the testimony: if they speak NOT according to this word, it is because there is NO light in him." So as plainly as that scripture states, the Lord is exact...which means that if one is claiming to be a "prophet/prophetess of God", then he/she better be sure that He has called him/her. Whatever is prophesied must come to pass or the person is false...point blank period. There are conditions to being called and most oftentimes, those called rejected or relunctantly accepted the call initially because it was not a popular or fun-filled thing to do to call a stiff-necked, sin-ridden, wicked &back slidden world to repentance & obedience to the Lord. True prophets/prophetesses DO NOT prophesy smooth, tickling-to-the-ears words 95 percent of the time. Unfortunately, we have more "self-appointed prophets" who are only into deceiving & fleecing(for financial gains) gullible, desperate & well meaning people, than are actually true God ordained ones. That is why the Word of God should be used to test what any alleged prophet/prophetess says. He/she should always point one back to the Lord. |

I used to read 'la click la' something (as a reply to videos/links) not understanding that phrase until someone said something about not doing that. I have posted some links & videos throughout my posts on the site, but now I issue an alternative. What I did was give the men's names, ministries of association, and some highly recommended series to check out. They can all easily be found on YouTube just by typing in the info I gave. From there, a plethora of info of interest can be found. |

KevUnique:I have never (in my life) had such a heavy burden to pray for a nation of people as a whole, as I do for Nigeria via Nairaland (as i've stated a few times before). I feel like Esther-in a small way- (once she understood her purpose). It really saddens me. I've had to pray for (4) different categories of people just in this section-which would cover all of Nigeria (or the world for that matter). The guy is hurt & disillusioned....99.4 percent of scoffers and/or unbelievers are not born that way...period. He's on my daily general list for the Religion section. Make sure to daily pray for him (and others) to choose to surrender & experience the unconditional love of Christ. |
Ok...I'm sorry folks, but I must add another powerful testimony. He is Pastor Doug Batchelor...a sincere, humble servant of the Lord. He has an incredible testimony as well that I thought I would share. I would be remiss not to mention him. His ministry was the first to get me delving into the bible. I even get emails-to this day- pertaining to biblical/spiritual growth daily. I've been supporting his ministry for awhile now. If you go back some months, through my posts, it is, in fact, some of his videos that I posted regarding certain doctrines. It seems as if I'm only using men, but these particular men's ministries have blessed me so tremendously that it would be a crime "not" to share. I may add a few more...women included. The power of a personal testimony sometimes can do more to convince a person of a real, personal and intimate God than a thousand sermons. When a life is transformed to a "new creature in Christ" (meaning the former life is over), and people can actually see the evidence, then what a testimony of an omnipotent, heart/life transforming Savior. I felt impressed to share (2) men whose ministries have tremendously blessed me for several years...even up until today. They are: D'wayne Lemon & Walter Veith...powerful, humble servants of God. Neither is a pastor, although many label them as that because they are thorough bible teachers. I wanted to share their testimonies of how they came to the Lord from extremely different, yet secular backgrounds and were transformed. Bejusttoall, Thank you for your contribution. As I am always praying for myself AND soliciting prayers on my behalf from godly people, this situation isn't about judgment. I understand that you do not understand what transpired..... Perhaps you do not spend much time in the religion section, so you do not discern the situation. I think you have spoken very rashly with all due respect. A Christian should absolutely embody the Fruit of the Spirit continually...absolutely..although we sometimes fail. However, there comes a time when the truth has to be said to those in error who have the platform to reach several others...regardless of what it is. A Christian can speak the truth EVEN THOUGH it may seem as if it being done in a harsh manner. I remember addressing a member in this section about how he appeared to be prideful and argumentative...not willing to see anywhere that he may be in error. He actually apologized although he didn't see it that way and may not change his approach. I can respect his apology though.. I'm sure some N.L. Christians disagree with my approach, although many of them are very combative and accusatory in their posts against a myriad of things. That is fine and they are entitled to those opinions. I didn't reply Mr. Kobo here without careful consideration. I am replying his post from last week today because I saw something that triggered this. I apologize if he is offended, but I cannot be silent for what is occuring. There is a way to address scripture in a way that it doesn't deter other impressionable minds. Twisting them is offensive to my soul....and we will be held accountable for causing anyone to stumble. FYI, several months ago, I was threatened multiple times via email (by some folks on this site who had an old email address) against saying anything about Islam, although I had only questioned some things that in my country that particular religion is only known for. My family has been threatened all the way over here..let me not even add more that has been occuring regarding them. All of that happened YET I never publicly posted it and am still in the midst of people (on N.L.) who loathe me and wish my destruction. That ought to tell you something... Souls saved on here is bigger than any pain I have experienced. I leave ALL evil plans against me and mine in my Lord's hands. Vengeance is His...not mine. I am speaking about the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ and am very concerned for the young people and maybe even older people (on this site) who may be searching, or shaky in their faith, and who are being confused and derailed by heavy error here. That is my passion. So far, I have a right to express that...until they ban me I guess. With all due respect, I think you are jumping to the defense of someone without investigating the whole situation first. His posts are innumerable throughout this section for you to read.
