If anybody needs proof of how religion perverts people's innate morality, just look at this thread. OP is stealing bandwidth from a company owned by people who invested their hard earned money, a company whose staff depend on it to feed their kids. He's slowing down the service of those of us who pay and making things more expensive for everybody. Yet he's looking for the passage in the magic book that says its wrong.

Meanwhile, in Syria, other believers are looking for the passage that says beheading and crucifying non-Muslims is wrong. Same shít, different toilet.

Christianity EtcRe: The Nature Of ISIS? by EvilBrain1(m):
I've had this debate with one or two of my Muslim friends and they are all determined not to believe that what ISIS is doing is straight from the Koran and the Sunnah. It doesn't matter how much evidence you show them and how many articles you link to, they want to believe that Islam is a religion of peace so they'll keep telling themselves that no matter what the reality is.

What is going to have to happen is that ISIS and similar groups (also, Saudi Arabia) are going to keep slaughtering people and and using Islam to justify it. And slowly the sheer evilness will discredit Islam they way it did Christianity in Europe. ISIS is working hard to distribute its materials justifying their evil behavior via the internet. Gradually, more and more people will read them, check the sources and realize that it's all true. Many people will realize what a true Muslim is and decide that they don't want to live like that. Because humans are by nature an empathetic and cooperative species, we don't like the torturing and killing of others even when it doesn't affect us directly.

I'm starting to think that ISIS is going to destroy Islam as an ideology the same way the Catholic church destroyed Christianity in Europe. The institutions will remain, but they'll have no political power and people will largely ignore them whenevery they give their opinions on how to go bout life. This has already happened before in the Islamic world. The Ottoman empire was the direct continuation of the empire conquered by the prophet Mohammed, but in the 1920s and 30s, they got rid of all the Islamic bullshît from their laws and created Turkey, the most radically secular country in the world. It can happen again.

But maybe I'm just deceiving myself.

While you continue to tell yourself that the prophet was the best of humanity, you fellow Muslims in ISIS and Boko Haram are analyzing his words and deeds and replicating them as closely as possible.

If you don't agree with what Boko Haram is doing, that means you don't agree with the example of the prophet. If you condemn Boko Haram, then you condemn the prophet.

You need to face the reality of your religion. You need to stop claiming that ISIS and Boko Haram are somehow not real Muslims. The truth is that they are more Muslim than you.

How are they not credible? They all sell legit keys, they all have legal agreements with the game developers and publishers. Whats your criteria for credibility and how does gog.com, for instance, fail the test?

The fact that all of them (including Steam) offer older and indie games for low prices doesn't mean they aren't credible. Nobody is forcing you buy indie games. You can pre-order GTA5 or the Witcher 3 for full price on many of the smaller sites if you want. Its just that if you're patient and wait for the games to go on sale (as they do quite frequently) you can save a lot of money while still supporting the developers.

Whatever you do, you need to stop pirating. It's seriously not cool.

Just stop using probability here. It is only your evolutionary discovery that you can term "would have" cos they are all speculations. God gave the Jews law on leprosy. They never invented it themselves nor is it from there human experiences. Which other nations had that law at that time. Tell me.
Actually, the bible doesn't say anything about Leprosy the disease. The Hebrew word that gets translated as leprosy is "Tzaraath" which refers to any condition causing scaly skin. Scaly skin can be caused by the disease we now call leprosy, but it can also be caused by many other conditions like syphilis and non infectious diseases like psoriasis. Also, non-living things like clothes and houses could also have tzaraath. Clearly the ancient hebrews had no clue about Leprosy as a distinct disease. If you still have have doubts, read Leviticus 14 and let us know if the home video juju ritual it describes is likely to cure leprosy in your opinion.

The World Book Encyclopedia says: “All the chemical elements that make up living things are also present in nonliving matter.”
How does this suggest that we came from dust? Unless you're saying that dust mean any preexisting matter, in which case your statement is obvious and hardly worth stating. The bible saying 1+1=2 wouldn't be proof of a divine author, neither is this.

All you presented are speculations which different evolutionist come with. None of those rubbish are based on observation and experiments. Those are speculations of what was claimed to have happened years back. You know how scientific method goes, NOT those speculations you pasted there.

There is no even an evidence of a self replicating molecule that existed in the time past.

Even billions of years ago, the difference between living and non living thing is large.

Michael Denton, in his book Evolution: A Theory in Crisis, says: “Between a living cell and the most highly ordered non-biological system, such as a crystal or a snowflake, there is a chasm as vast and absolute as it is possible to conceive.”

Some scientists conclude that the odds of even one protein molecule forming spontaneously are extremely improbable. “Since a functioning cell requires thousands of different proteins,” writes physicist Paul Davies, “it is not credible to suppose they formed by chance alone.”

The probability that just one protein containing only 100 amino acids could ever randomly form on earth has been calculated to be about one chance in a million billion.

And this is what a reasonable person will put faith in. Belief in a God does not even require that stretch of faith.
I admire the way you casually dismissed the peer reviewed scientific papers I linked to. 6 different sets of rigorously done scientific experiments that have been replicated and verified by independent scientific teams is just "speculation"? You should go and work for a tobacco company, or those climate change denying oil companies. You'd fit in very well there.

Also, the irreducible complexity argument is nonsense, it only exposes your lack of understanding of evolution. If you'd taken the time to actually learn what the theory says, you'd know why complexity is not a problem and start arguing more intelligently. There are plenty potential ways to prove evolution wrong, but the complexity of life is not one of them.

In any case, my last post wasn't about evolution, it was about life emerging from non-living precursors, Abiogenesis. Completely different field, and your canned anti-evolution arguments do not apply. Now please, actually read the stuff I posted and say something sensible. You can ask questions if there's anything that isn't clear, I'll try and explain as best I can. But you need to drop that smug attitude, and realize that you cant just read one small magic book and assume you know anything.

Did you even read the article at all? There are at least 4 examples of Muhammad himself ordering people to be burnt and another one when he talked about it but didn't carry it out. All examples are fully referenced and come from authentic hadiths. All good Muslims will be familiar with the story of Kinanah bin al-Rabi of the Banu al-Nadir who was tortured to death with a fire built on his chest because Allah's messenger wanted him to reveal where his tribe's wealth was hidden.

Incidentally, the prophet Muhammad also seized and slept with Kinanah's wife, Safiyyah; apparently on the very same day he'd had her husband killed. This is another of his actions that the true Muslims of ISIS and Boko Haram like to emulate.

Which scientific method did they use to ascertain that such sickness was contagious.
Every culture has known about contagious diseases for thousands of years. Ancient people were not stupid, they would have noticed that some diseases tended to spread among close contacts. Even animals know this. To claim that people didn't know that they should isolate people with contagious diseases before they saw it in the bible is stüpid.

which scientific method was used to ascertain we were made from dust?
We're not made from dust, that's just stüpid.

Where is that science book which proves imperically that life comes from nonliving thing?
Abiogenesis is a very rapidly evolving field and a lot of breakthroughs have been made in recent years. There is still work to be done before we figure out how to create life de novo, but things are moving very fast and the problem might even be solved in our lifetime. This video is a bit outdated, but it gives a good general overview:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgQLyqWaCbA
If you want the hard unprocessed science stuff, here's some links:
Nucleotides naturally forming spontaneously
Amino acids forming spontaneously in space
Amino acids spontaneously forming functional proteins
Metabolic pathways (probably the most important feature of living things) appearing spontaneously.
Spontaneous formation of protocells.
Spontaneously forming protocells that self replicate and grow.
Sauce: Reddit user /u/Superb_Simian

The evidence we have strongly suggests that given the conditions that existed in the early earth, the appearance of life is basically inevitable. And Darwin has already shown us what always happens when you have living things, competition and time. In short, there is no need for a god to explain anything about life on earth.

Make good use of that brain pls.
This is good advice. I totally agree.

And if IS aren't true muslims, how come their knowledge of the Islamic scriptures and jurisprudencr is so superior to that of "real" muslims? How come they can justify everything they do using the koran and the Sunnah?

You need to stop hiding behind your ignorance and learn true Islam. Because your "religion of peace" is not the same religion the prophet Muhammad practiced or preached. The prophet Muhammad was not a man of peace, we was a fighter, just like ISIS and Boko Haram. And if you are going to condemn those who are following the prophet's example, then you are not a muslim.

Last week the whole world rose to condemn the Islamic State for burning a Jordanian pilot alive. Many muslims joined in the condemnation saying that burning people alive was against the teachings of Islam. But is this really true? The IS is known for their remarkable scholarship and their ability to justify virtually all of their violent acts by quoting the Koran, the teachings of the prophet or examples from his life.

FrontpageMag.com has published a detailed analysis of Islamic scripture and shown that burning people is not only Islamic, but that the prophet and his first companions also did the same. Its a very long read, but worth it for those who desire a deeper understanding of Islam.

In December 2014, Lt. Muath al-Kaseasbeh, a 26-year-old Jordanian Air Force pilot, was flying his F-16 in Syria in support of a U.S.-led coalition raid on the Islamic State (IS). During this mission his plane crashed near Raqqa, and he was captured by IS fighters. On February 3, 2015, Lt. al-Kaseasbeh was burned alive by IS. An IS-released video of the burning was titled Healing the Believers Chests, an apparent reference to 9:14 of the Koran.

Outrage was immediate, along with the claims that Islam not only prohibited Muslims from killing fellow Muslims, but also prohibited the burning of captives. As seems to have become usual in matters involving violence done in the name of Islam, there is more to this story.

Lt. al-Kaseasbeh was a Muslim fighting for the King of Jordan, in coalition with non-Muslim governments, against the Islamic Caliphate of IS. This combination would allow IS to declare their captured pilot a Hypocrite (Munafiq), someone whose external appearance was that of a Muslim, but who, by fighting for a secular government in coalition with non-Muslims against the new Caliphate, was actually showing his inner disbelief in Islam.

Here are some of the things the Koran says about Hypocrites: Allah has cursed them and prepared the fires of Hell for them (e.g., 4:145, 9:68, 9:73, and 48:6); and Allah commanded Muhammad to “strive hard against” and “be harsh” to the Hypocrites (9:73).

So IS was not killing a fellow Muslim; they were killing a Hypocrite who was already cursed by Allah and condemned to Hell, and against whom Allah had commanded Muslims to be harsh.

But doesn’t Islam prohibit burning people alive? To answer this question, we need to first look at Muhammad, who spoke for Allah (4:80) and is considered the standard of perfect conduct for Muslims (33:21). Muhammad had no qualms about burning people.

In December 627 Muhammad led an attack against the Al-Mustalaq tribe. Because that tribe fought back, Muhammad ordered their fortifications to be set on fire, even though the Muslims knew there were women and children inside.

Around June 628, when Kinanah bin al-Rabi of the Jewish Bani al-Nadir tribe would not reveal where his conquered tribe’s treasures were hidden, Muhammad ordered one of his soldiers, “Torture him until you extract what he has,” so a fire was built on Kinanah’s chest until Kinanah nearly died.

In October 630 there was some resistance among the Muslims (Hypocrites) toward a military expedition Muhammad was planning against the Byzantines at Tabuk. Muhammad heard that these Hypocrites were gathered in a particular house, so he ordered that the house be burned down on top of them. The Hypocrites managed to escape from the flames.

In June 632, after Muhammad’s death, an attack on Ubna that he had earlier ordered took place. The leader of the Muslim force said,

the Messenger of God commanded me and this was his last command to me: …to raid them, without inviting them [to Islam], and to destroy and burn.
The Life of Muhammad: Al-Waqidi’s Kitab al-Maghazi, p. 549

And Muhammad even considered burning down Muslims’ houses around them to compel their attendance at congregational prayers:

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “The Messenger of Allah said: ‘I was thinking of commanding that the call to prayer be given, then I would tell a man to lead the people in prayer, then I would go out with some other men carrying bundles of wood, and go to people who do not attend the prayer, and burn their houses down around them.'”
Sunan Ibn Majah, No. 791

So Muhammad’s statements and actions show that during his lifetime it was permissible for Muslims to burn people alive. This was continued after Muhammad’s death.

After Muhammad died there were many Arab tribes that left Islam. This resulted in the Wars of Apostasy (Riddah Wars) under Abu Bakr, the first of the four “Rightly Guided” Caliphs (so named because they are believed to have held the most firmly to the teachings of Muhammad). The commander of each army that Abu Bakr sent out had a letter to be read to the tribe before it was attacked. The letter explained that if the tribe did not return to Islam, the army commander

will not spare any one of them he can gain mastery over, [but may] burn them with fire, slaughter them by any means…
The History of al-Tabari: The Conquest of Arabia, p. 57

Abu Bakr even set the example when a captive who had fought against the Muslims was brought to him. Abu Bakr

ordered a fire to be kindled with much firewood in the prayer yard (musalla) of Medina and threw him, with arms and legs bound, into it.
The History of al-Tabari: The Conquest of Arabia, p. 80

The commander of one of the Muslim armies was Khalid bin al-Walid. Here is a command that Abu Bakr gave to Khalid:

…kill them by every means, by fire or whatever else.
The History of al-Tabari: The Conquest of Arabia, p. 100

And Abu Bakr gave Khalid a specific command when he sent him against the Bani Hanifah in Al-Yamamah:

Kill their wounded, seek out those of them who flee, put the captives among them to the sword and strike terror among them by killing and burn them by fire. And I warn you against contradicting my orders. Peace (be upon you).
Abridged Biography of Prophet Muhammad, p. 345

Khalid took Abu Bakr’s admonitions to heart and was known for burning many captives alive. Abu Bakr’s response was,

I shall not sheathe a sword that Allah had unsheathed against the ‘unbelievers.’
The Origins of the Islamic State, p. 148

The burning continued, as Ali, the fourth “Rightly Guided” Caliph (656-661), ordered people to be burned alive for being hypocrites.

So we can see that the burning-to-death of the captured pilot can be fully supported by Islamic doctrine, and it even falls under Allah’s admonition found in 8:57 of the Koran:

So if you gain the mastery over them in war, punish them severely in order to disperse those who are behind them, so that they may learn a lesson.

There must be fairness, equity and justice in this country. Power MUST go round if we are truly one Nigeria. Why must a particular group of people continue to terrorize the rest of the nation when they are not in power?

As soon as Jonathan, another Southerner took over government, boko haram which was previously a rag tag group suddenly transforms into a mighty fighting force, blasting churches to pieces, killing innocent Nigerians and recently seizing towns and abducting our women.

The question is why is it that we cannot have peace when the people from Futa Jalon are not in power?

I don't care how much unemployment, poverty and suffering there is.

As long as the next president is from my village or somewhere nearby, Nigeria can go to blazes. That is the only thing that matters. The president must be from my village. Those northerners think they are born to rule. Let them know that it is only my village that is born to rule.

Jonathwn signed the bill therefore he's responsible for it, no excuses. He could easily have rejected it until the national assembly removed all the unconstitutional parts. He could even have had the Justice ministry draft a version that didnt strip people of basic human rights and sent it to the legislators under the table. Instead, he chose to throw gay people under the bus in order to distract attention from his own faiked government. Jonathan is not as stüpid as eveyone makes him out to be. Shortsighted, yes; selfish; definitely but not that stüpid

I'd be voting Jonathan out for the many things he never did not the one thing he did.I don't see Buhari being any different,he and Osinbanjo come across as people who would append their signatures to harsher law,am sure the both of them support the law.GEJ may be the only one to undo his mistake,Buhari in power may be another 4-8years of persecution to the gay community,a bad precedent for Nigerian democracy.

I may be totally wrong though, who knows,Buhari may be totally indifferent to the cause.
If you think Jonathan cares enough about gay people to go through the trouble of fixing that law, youre on a long tin. This is a man who was smiling and dancing at a rally less than 24hours after 59 boys were murdered at a Federal Government College. A man who was sending condolences to France over 11 deaths when he hadnt even mentioned the 2000 of our own people who died the same time. Let me assure you that he doesnt give a fück about gay people.

We shouldnt assume the worst about Buhari and Osibanjo especially since they havent addressed the subject. Plus this election is not about voting for Buhari, its about punishing the incumbent for his terrible performance. If Buhari gets there and misbehaves, we'll vote him out as well in 2019. Eventually the politicians will see the pattern and theyll learn.

tell that to the birds.when a single game can go for as high as N10,000 or more?i only buy franchises that are extraordinary nice.single and multiplayer
Right now as Im typing this, the entire Square-Enix catalogue of 32 games is on sale for $32. That incluses the entire Tomb Raider franchise, LaraCroft and the Temple of Osiris, the entire Hitman franchise, the entire Deus-Ex franchise, plus over a dozen other games for less than N6500. Plus you can buy them all individually, the latest Tomb Raider is 75% off so you can get it for less than N800 (the game is fantastic!).

On humblebundle.com you can pay whatever you want for a dozen Star Wars games. You can pay $0.01 if youre really stingy and still get most of the games. EA regularly gives out games for free on their Origin service, I got Battlefield 3 and Dragon Age: Origins for free from them. Then theres games like Dota2, LoL, Team Fortress 2 that are free to play. People on the internet will even dash you free games if you ask them nicely. I've even posted free Steam keys on this thread before.

In this day and age, there is no excuse for pirating games. You are taking food out of someboy's child's mouth. Most game developers are not millionaires like actors or musicians. They work long and hard to make this stuff. And its not like you'll die if you dont play the latest games immediately. You have a debit card, you can afford it, and its cheap so pay for your games. Don't be evil.
