Don't be a pirate. PC games are not that expensive. There are sales virtually every day so you can buy games ridiculously cheap. Plus with Steam you get free online gaming, cloud saves, and some of the best games are free.

The people making the games deserve to eat. And there's never been a better time to go legit.

This is just speculation, no announcement yet. But if it is true, its just another reason not to vote for Jonathan. They're basically claiming that under him our country has become so unsafe that we can't have elections. Meaning he has basically destroyed our democracy.

Our army and police can no longer cope. Even with all the security agents fully occupied in the northeast, we still need the Chadians and Cameroonians to come and rescue us.

We should all be ashamed! What have we come to? Jonathan just has to go.

GMB will also have a weary international community watching. If he wants their support he'll have to play nice, so there's that too. Of course he could go semi-'axis of evil' should he choose to.

That said, yes, he doesn't seem like the type that enjoys kicking the underdog's teeth in actually. Provided they kept to themselves he very likely won't bother, at all sef. GEJ, on the other hand, in his bid to look tough went down that silly path instead of say facing BH. Can't wait for the clown to leave.
Also, Buhari's circumstances back then were completely different from what they are now. People think he single-handedly made the government brutal forgetting that it was a military government with notorious hardässes like Idiagbon also having their say. Nowadays, he couldn't whip anyones's ynash even if he wanted to. Democracy means limited government, oversight, separation of powers and individual rights; things Buhari cannot get rid of without undermining himself since he'll be getting his powers from the same constitution.

This is actually the best time to have a brutal ex-dictator as president. He can't touch law abiding citizens, but he can channel his brutality towards Boko Haram and the criminals bleeding us dry.

PoliticsThe Least Awful: The Economist Endorses Buhari by EvilBrain1(op): 6:04pm On Feb 06, 2015
The Economist magazine has endorsed Muhammadu Buhari for next week's elections.

While they acknowledged Buhari's past as a military dictator and heavily criticized his regime's economic and social policies; they still prefered him to Jonathan who was described as "an utter failure".

SOMETIMES there are no good options. Nigeria goes to the polls on February 14th to elect the next president, who will face problems so large—from rampant corruption to a jihadist insurgency—that they could break the country apart, with dire consequences for Nigerians and the world.

And yet, as Africa’s biggest economy stages its most important election since the restoration of civilian rule in 1999, and perhaps since the civil war four decades ago, Nigerians must pick between the incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan, who has proved an utter failure, and the opposition leader, Muhammadu Buhari, a former military dictator with blood on his hands. The candidates stand as symbols of a broken political system that makes all Nigeria’s problems even more intractable.

Start with Mr Jonathan, whose People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has run the country since 1999 and who stumbled into the presidency on the death of his predecessor in 2010. The PDP’s reign has been a sorry one. Mr Jonathan has shown little willingness to tackle endemic corruption. When the governor of the central bank reported that $20 billion had been stolen, his reward was to be sacked.

Worse, on Mr Jonathan’s watch much of the north of the country has been in flames. About 18,000 people have died in political violence in recent years, thousands of them in January in several brutal attacks by Boko Haram, a jihadist group that claims to have established its “caliphate” in territory as large as Belgium. Another 1.5m people have fled their homes. The insurgency is far from Mr Jonathan’s southern political heartland and afflicts people more likely to vote for the opposition. He has shown little enthusiasm for tackling it, and even less competence. Quick to offer condolences to France after the attack on Charlie Hedbo, Mr Jonathan waited almost two weeks before speaking up about a Boko Haram attack that killed hundreds, perhaps thousands, of his compatriots.

The single bright spot of his rule has been Nigeria’s economy, one of the world’s fastest-growing. Yet that is largely despite the government rather than because of it, and falling oil prices will temper the boom. The prosperity has not been broadly shared: under Mr Jonathan poverty has increased. Nigerians typically die eight years younger than their poorer neighbours in nearby Ghana.

Goodbye Jonathan
Voters have ample cause to send Mr Jonathan packing. In a country where power has often changed through the barrel of a gun, the opposition All Progressives Congress has a real chance of winning through the ballot box. Yet its candidate, Mr Buhari, is an ex-general who, three decades ago, came to power in a coup. His rule was nasty, brutish and mercifully short. Declaring a “war against indiscipline”, he ordered whip-wielding soldiers to ensure that Nigerians formed orderly queues. His economics, known as Buharism, was destructive. Instead of letting the currency depreciate in the face of a trade deficit, he tried to fix prices and ban “unnecessary” imports. He expelled 700,000 migrants in the delusion that this would create jobs for Nigerians. He banned political meetings and free speech. He detained thousands, used secret tribunals and executed people for crimes that were not capital offences.

Should a former dictator with such a record be offered another chance? Surprisingly, many Nigerians think he should. One reason is that, in a country where ministers routinely wear wristwatches worth many times their annual salary, Mr Buhari is a sandal-wearing ascetic with a record of fighting corruption. Few nowadays question his commitment to democracy or expect him to turn autocratic: he has repeatedly stood for election and accepted the outcome when he lost. He would probably do a better job of running the country, and in particular of tackling Boko Haram. As a northerner and Muslim, he will have greater legitimacy among villagers whose help he will need to isolate the insurgents. As a military man, he is more likely to win the respect of a demoralised army.

We are relieved not to have a vote in this election. But were we offered one we would—with a heavy heart—choose Mr Buhari. Mr Jonathan risks presiding over Nigeria’s bloody fragmentation. If Mr Buhari can save Nigeria, history might even be kind to him.
Ouch!
PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Another Attack On France by EvilBrain1(m):
This has nothing to do with Islam.

Islam is a religion of peace. There are millions and millions of moderate Muslims who are using peaceful means to establish a caliphate and impose sharia law on the world. They do not condone violence (unless it is done according to the Koran, and the teachings and example of the prophet in which case its okay).

The fact that moderate Muslims are the power base for violent fanatics and give extremists credibility is irrelevant. The fact that the koran says so many awful things about Jewish people is besides the point. The fact that the prophet Muhammad himself regularly ordered the killing of people who criticized him, once massacred and entire tribe of people, and seized women and kept them as sex slaves for himself and his companions doesn't matter. The fact extremist groups like ISIS can justify every single horrible thing they do by referencing the prophet's actions and teaching as well as the koran itself means nothing. The fact that moderates are producing more potential terrorists everyday by indoctrinating their innocent children with Islam doesn't matter.

Its not fair to judge moderate Muslims by the actions of the people that they willingly associate themselves with. Its not the moderates' fault that some people take the teachings of Islam, that all Muslims support and defend, to their logical conclusions.

Lets not blame all Muslims for all this Islam-inspired violence. Just because you support, promote, and defend a violent, intolerant ideology doesn't mean you are responsible for the violence and intolerance it causes.

Let's be reasonable.

Amazing game! It has virtually taken over my life. I got it just over a week ago and its already my most played game on Steam. I was playing Portal 2 (another fantastic game) and just wanted to try it to see what it was like and come back after after finishing Portal. But the thing just sucked me in.

And unlike many modern games these days that you can finish in 6 hours, Skyrim is almost endless. Even when you finish the extremely long main quest, there's a ridiculous amount of side quests and things to do. And I haven't even started on the Mods yet.

I almost feel ashamed that I'm just discovering the Elder Scrolls series for the first time.

frosbel, it beats me why you forced yourself out of hibernation just to knee jerk post the above

You too, like EvilBrain1, obviously haven't watched the video I posted nor read the transcript before trigger happy pulling out the above.

Watch the video and if you and EvilBrain1 are honest about it, both will find Paul been vindicated of misogyny,
furthermore the result of watching it will be a surprising eye-opener!
I didn't reply to your earlier posts because I didn't deem them worthy of a response. I have limited time and since your arguments are self-evidently nonsense, I decided to spend my energy on the one that seemed more sensible i.e Frosbel's.

I mean first you claimed that Paul was being sarcastic (lol!) with no real evidence outside your own imagination. Then you posted that long-winded video in an attempt to complicate a statement that is really quite simple and clear-cut. Trying to win an argument by burying your opponent in grammar is a very cheap tactic that does not work here. I know your pastors are fond of dancing from bible verse to bible verse, reading them out of context and twisting themselves into knots in trying to form a coherent-sounding argument, but this is not church we are not so easily fooled.

Even though I think he's wrong, Frosbel was at least using the legitimate methods of textual analysis and comparison of different texts to make his point that the passage was an interpolation. There are even notable biblical scholars who agree with him.

I however disagree because I think its cherry-picking by those who want to rehabilitate Paul. If we were to discard every passage that seems to "break the flow of the passage" or "appears in a different location in some manuscripts" or looks suspicious for some other reason; there'll be very little left of the New Testament. We have to accept the fact that it is a hodgepodge written, edited, interpolated, redacted and manipulated by god knows how many people over centuries. We can't just delete one passage in isolation and claim that as proof that Saint Paul was actually a lovely guy instead of the horrible bigot he appears to be. If you remove that passage you'll have to also get rid of all those that suffer the same problems, and you'll end up with a completely different new testament that can fit on one sheet of paper.

Also, I didn't know Ephesians and Timothy were in the old testament:
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. Ephesians 6:5
Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. 1 Timothy 6:1-2
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Matthew 5:17
That last one was a direct quote from your Jesus himself. But what would he know about Christianity? Your opinion is much more credible.
Christianity EtcRe: Women Should Not Keep Quiet In Church ! by EvilBrain1(m):
@BabaGnoni

You accuse me of making things up, yet in the next breath you refer to OP who quoted this:
There is good evidence that these two verses were not part of Paul’s original writing, but were added to the text by scribes or copyists. It is never desirable to change Christian practice by omitting a verse of the Bible. Nevertheless, it is honest to recognize that occasionally the biblical text was changed, and in this case there are a number of pieces of evidence that certainly seem to warrant removing these verses that say women should be silent in the church. Before we examine those, however, it must be admitted that if these verses are an addition to the Greek text, it would have been an early addition, because the verses appear in the Greek manuscripts of 1 Corinthians.
Then wrote this:
frosbel:
"How can you say, "We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?" - Jeremiah 8:8
Do you have a short term memory problem? You should really get that looked at.
*Edit: I'll modify my last post so that it's clear that I was replying to OP if you like. Hopefully, that should make it stop confusing you.

Also, if Paul wrote Corinthians, then he was a misogynist by definition. Words have meanings which are not subject to your personal opinion.
Christianity EtcRe: Women Should Not Keep Quiet In Church ! by EvilBrain1(m):
@Frosbel
Saint Paul was a misogynist. It is very clear in all his writings. He had a very low opinion of women which is why he wrote what he wrote.

It is ridiculous to try and rehabilitate him by claiming that the parts of his letters you don't happen to like weren't written by him. You'll need pretty strong evidence for that and that evidence simply does not exist. While he almost certainly didn't write 1st and 2nd Timothy and he might not have written Ephesians, the 2 letters to the Corinthians are definitely his and the misogyny in them is perfectly in line with the pseudoepigraphical letters.

Even when you remove all the likely forged stuff from the new testament there's still plenty of bigotry left. In fact, the forged stuff was included in the canon precisely because it was in line with the spirit of the rest of the books. The christian message is mainly one of intolerance to other religions, groups and lifestyles. And women were not spared.

Muslims are also required to say an incantation for protection against evil spirits before entering the toilet, and ask for allah's forgiveness after exiting. Also, allowing your urine to splash on you while peeing is a grave sin for which allah will punish you after you die. Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Atheists Suffer Prosecution From Religious People by EvilBrain1(m):
Abuamam:
Hmm. You might have some points (barring the profanity and bad language), , but you are not totally correct.
Animals do not actually have a similar moral code as you claim. And they certainly have no concept of 'fairness' or 'justice'. Primates are known to kill the young of their species. They attack, kill and steal from among themselves and from other groups; and as you say, they have no religion to teach them that. In actual fact, survival of the fittest promotes selfishness over the good of the species. No hungry animal would give its food to a hungrier animal... unless forced to. Each individual is after propagating his own genes. Even in animals with grouping tendencies, lions for example, the incoming male tends to kill all the cubs of his predecessor. So it is wrong to say that animals have a moral code. It is an instinct to survive, and there is nothing moral about it.
First of all, stop generalizing about animals. Some animals kill each other, some humans kill other humans. Baby killing happens fairly regularly among humans (which is not surprising given the fact that we are primates). In fact, we are not even the most peaceful among the great apes. That award goes to the Bonobos by a wide margin.

Secondly, you've shown a very poor understanding of how evolution via natural selection works. FYI, natural selection favours behaviors which enhance survival and reproductive success. If you live in a herd, being nice to your fellow members enhances your own survival which is why social animals evolve to behave altruistically towards each other. And altruistic behavior (kindness to others at personal cost) is extremely widespread in nature, going all the way down to bacteria sharing DNA with each other. That's because evolution favours cooperation over competition. And humans are no exception. We are guided by our instincts far more than we are willing to accept. And those instincts are where we get our morality from, not any stüpid religion.

Even among some backward tribes, stealing, killing, cannibalism and the like were highly valued codes of conduct, may still be. Our African ancestors were continually involved in inter village wars and plunder, and selling off their fellows as slaves.
As for fighting for religious reasons, most religionists believe that it is excused to prevent a greater harm to society. Even YOU would hold that the death penalty or killing in self defence is morally justified in some cases. The problem is in the difference in opinion between what is justifiable and what is not. Those who go to extremes tend to be very free with their justifications... including atheists like Stalin and Mao.
Religion has brought a lot of good, when combined with moderation and wisdom. It is the misapplication of religion that can bring harm to society.
Clearly you've swallowed the oyimbo's racist lies and propaganda about our forefathers. Did oyimbos not engage in inter-village wars, plunder and stealing? Have you read the old testament? Was it only black people involved in slavery? Doesn't the bible approve of it? Didn't the prophet Mohammed sell many of his poor victims into slavery (and share others among his men)? What makes one tribe backwards and the other civilized? And why is the oyimbo definition of civilization the only one you believe in?

And so what if Stalin and Mao were atheists? How does that mean all atheists tend to be free with their justifications for doing evil? So there aren't any atheists who aren't evil mass murderers? What about Hitler, who was catholic and received communion every Sunday even up to the late stages of the war? What about Christopher Columbus, Cortez, Joseph Kony, Idi Amin, Genghis Khan, Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden, George Bush, Mohammed Shekau? How do you know it was their atheism that made Stalin and Mao evil? What if it was their pot bellies, which is another feature they share? Or maybe it was the fact that they were both raised in deeply religious households or were both damaged early in life by their abusive fathers?

Clearly you have just been swallowing all the rubbish you've been told without thinking deeply first. That is a habit you need to break.

Buy or build a desktop PC, then add a decent video card.

Gaming laptops are not cost effective. To get a decent experience running the latest games you need to spend an insane amount of money. Regardless of their processor speed, most affordable laptops come with integrated graphics which is not powerful enough to do justice to modern games. You might be able to get a a good experience with 2 year old games at 720p, but for modern games you need to either get a desktop or spend stupid money.

Desktop PC are cheap and you can build one that is significantly more powerful than the PS4 for the same amount of money. Or if you already have one, you can just buy a mid-range video card and you're set.

Follow this guide if you need help picking parts. You can buy them online and ship them to Nigeria, or get someone who is travelling to bring them for you.

Cheers
