FamilyRe: My Mom Says "no" To Every Girl I Introduce To Her As Fiancee At 32 by Excellent7(m): 12:37am On Jan 12, 2011
How many ladies has she picked fault with?
When next she wants to know about you next babe, be non challant and tell her it is no longer your priority. You may even tell her you dont want to think about it till you are 50. Just maintain straight face, in a little time , she will be the one calling you to show her somebody.
Another option, you can let her introduce a couple of her "spiritually compatible woman", then keep rejecting every choice and at last feign lack of interest, the woman will get more prayer topic, finally tire and hopefully let you be.
In essence just (be patient and) mirror back her actions to her on this issue, and let her realize that without prejudice you are your own man.
FamilyRe: Whose right is it to choose the Wedding location? by Excellent7(m): 5:47pm On Jan 10, 2011
There is no problem here! With your mentioned towns I guess that you are Igbo. In Igboland and custom the traditional wedding is unfailingly at the bride's fathers compound/town, after which the woman then "belongs with" the groom's family, with or without church wedding.
Please be reminded that by custom once the bride price/traditional wedding is done you are married. Because the church has been with us and most are christians, the norm has been to go to the next step of church wedding. This is usually done in the groom's town or church.
So I am afraid that your Mum is correct. If you are in doubt just put a call through to some elderly folks.
I understand your desire to keep cost down, but that's the way it is. It should not be seen as a case of your intended wife "struggling" for location with your Mum.

Christianity EtcRe: Pray For Erastus Akingbola Of Intercontinental Bank by Excellent7(m): 11:34am On Oct 12, 2010
This topic makes me sick!!! It also assumes that he is guilty, which I hope he is not !!!
But if by any chance he is guilty of such horrendous Kleptomainism with such cataclysmic effects on peoples livelihood and economy, I do not pretend to pity him
If baffles me : this abeg culture in Nigeria where someone willl breach the law and be sayiong abeg abeg!! If you are bold to do the crime, you should be bold enough to serve the time.
They will know and understand; The Lord will not allow the wicked to go
unpunished. Nahum 1:3. As the the thief is bought to shame when he is caught so
shall they be bought to shame. Jer. 2:26. Woe to those who become rich by evil
means. He will not allow the wicked mans riches to continue. The Lord is known
by the judgement He executes, He is famous for the way he punishes the wicked.

If I can make any prayer on this, it is that any of these guys accused of stealing what was placed under their care in our banks, get fair hearing, and a good sentence not a slap in the wrist, and that true it all they will truely repent ( and have their souls saved). God is a God of Justice!!!
The actions of these fellows ruined a whole industry. Right now I dont trust any figures coming from all the companies, How Iam I sure they have not been cooked.
On a lighter note, the poster needs to pray that none of the folks that lost good money in the banking and share crisis is the Judge of these CEO otherwise we might see Madoff kind of sentences ( To put it graphically the Judge bringing a fat cob of corn and giving each one as many years in jail as there are seeds on the cob)
CareerRe: What Does It Take To Be A World-class Engineer? by Excellent7(m): 11:12am On Oct 12, 2010
To be a world class Engineer, you need to study, be abreast of current trends, network preofessionally through professional association, manouvre yourself to learn and work with the best in your area of expertise and have international exposure in your education and work experience! So you have to move around a bit!

FamilyRe: I Want To Quit This Marriage by Excellent7(m): 4:30am On Jan 07, 2010
This is verbal abuse! U need to experience it to understand it! People can hide or change and do . I have seen ''gentle guys and chicks'' turn to tigers and tigresses after walking down the aisles and not strictly dependent on how long u dated. I think many folks (men and women) take each other for granted once married in the false belief or premise that their partner is stock and out of options

Stop taking the cursing seriously. Just pretend you never heard her cursing or rather it was a compliment! But silently cancel the curses! If you can, apply for a transfer to another town, put do not stop to fend for your family, the seperation can do a lot.
Don't be in a haste to bail out of the marriage, but if it persists I do not see why you can not get out of it while you can! Whatever you do , make sure your daughter does not suffer the consequences much by providing for her
Foreign AffairsRe: Home Grown Muslim Terrorists Still Plotting To Kill Us by Excellent7(m): 3:17pm On Jan 05, 2010
@ Mushin
Is your statement neant to justify the killing of fellow nigerians in the north over a cartoon made in Europe?
I hope you will not mind being at the receiving end of the ''responsive or retaliatory act'' someday!
Foreign AffairsRe: South Africa President Jacob Zuma Marries Third Wife by Excellent7(m): 12:53pm On Jan 05, 2010
This might be news to the west! but not news to us.
It's not a South African phenomenon, it happens in naija too and does not have anything to do with democracy. The fellows involved are adults and have made their choices.
RomanceRe: Is It Compulsory To Wash Your Husband's Clothes? by Excellent7(m): 5:05pm On Jan 02, 2010
@ BlueDiva  I totaly agree with your analysis
My on take is, Never wash your hubby's clothes and never complain when u find another babe is gladly doing it.
I think we have many extremely independent folks around. With a lot of what I read in NL a lot of babes are definitely not possessed of a mindset that makes for a stable marriage. Marriage comes with a lot of privileges amd more so responsibilities for both sexes. It is not a buffet where you choose what  you like, its more of a la carte.

PoliticsRe: The Nigerian Government Sucks Primarily Cause Nigerians Don't Pay Taxes by Excellent7(m): 2:33pm On Dec 31, 2009
@ Poster am surprised at your reasoning! U are definitely at of and totally out of touch with reality.
My tax is yanked of before most of my earnings get to me, yet what do I get for it.
Your reasoning seems a comparison of apples with cassava!
You don't ask folks without much income to pay you personal income tax.
What has government done with oil receipts , value added tax which is paid when you buy ''vat-able'' items.
Even in those climes where according to you, is there no corruption?
The problem partly to me is (1) that most of the guys in power were not voted into power, hence they are not answerable to the citizenry (2) We do not have strong institutions etc.
Please bear with long suffering countrymen that have to provide basic infrastructure like power etc. and thrive by disabusing their minds about the existence of any government
FamilyRe: Must The Husband Be 100% Responsible For The Family Bills? by Excellent7(m): 10:02pm On Dec 25, 2009
embarassed Reading through these gave me an insight into the scenario. I think the babes with the mindset the poster indicated are not available for marriage. They want to be ''kept'' ladies. In today's challenging and peculiar environment it is difficult for any one person (man or woman) to pick all the bills, except you will prefer somebody die trying. For the colleague that said her salary is for clothes and shoes, now that she is single who pays her bills? This mindset can be the reason time pass some fellows by!
BusinessRe: IGI Insurance Plc -A Company With No Integrity by Excellent7(m): 1:17pm On Dec 23, 2009
IGI is a big disappointment. I bought the shares during their private placement, and have not heard anything from them, especially about the listing. They have lost my trust, confidence and needless to say it my business. I am lucky I bought a ''little'' of their shares. It is clear now that a lot of promoters are not sincere, and were busy selling hype to the public. This is one reason, it will take very long tor the stock market to come up again. A generation of investors especially new investors have been burnt, and believe me many will neither invest nor allow a friend to invest. Even if shares sell at a premium guys are too scared to touch it from a mile, because you can't just believe any report anymore. Too bad but true!

BusinessRe: Have You Been Robbed Of Your Money By Uba Lately? by Excellent7(m): 5:37am On Dec 08, 2009
What are u still waiting for? Its not peculiar to UBA alone. The risk involved with using ATM in Naija is too much for me. So I just went and blocked all of mine,I am back to slips and cheques. That way I solved these issues
TV/MoviesRe: 30 Things Nollywood, Has Taught Us by Excellent7(m):
Nobody is pulling anybody down. We should be open to criticism, which is what most of the posters have done so far. The guys in the film industry have made a milestone, but yesterday's glory is not enough for today. Rather than see this as a Phd ( Pull Him Down) thing, I see it as pure criticism. For me no matter how the truth is said, I personally try to recognize and appropriate it.
I disagree that black people hate another black man's accomplishment. On the contrary, I think that we tend to be too touchy and intolerant of the slightest contrary opinion (this is so most evident in our politics) which encourages sycophancy. There is no need to fight to me more than 95% of the post is true. The Nollywood guys can do better, some of the initial films they produced had better story lines and quality.
For somebody's info, not every guy outside Naija is 'wiping old people's butt'.
I will be happy to see we can discuss issues without trying to shout down or suffocate someone's opinion. Let's not be like our 'leaders' we seem to detest.

BusinessRe: Your Experience With Some so Called Fund/portfolio Managers by Excellent7(m): 3:12pm On Nov 15, 2009
While we are waiting to know their name, so we can take precaution, I want to say that I have never been able to trust these portfolio managers or mutual fund hype. To me the bring nothing to the table except the hype and their translucent offices. Any funds I will not be using in 30 days I fix it with the bank. That way I am sure of returns no matter how meagre, instead of getting deductions in the current account or next to nothing in the savings account.

BusinessRe: I Have #1.7m To Start A Business. Nl Please Advise Me -DELETED by Excellent7(m): 12:24pm On Nov 15, 2009
Pretend as if you don't yet have the money and go fix it for one year. In the mean time research "durable" opportunities. When you finally choose the one you think is the best, don't assume you know all, write out a standard business plan and launch out. Rmember that's not small money these days, so be careful.
I agree with Temisafety quoted above.
Fix that Capital for 6 months to 1year.This can add 100k to 200k to your capital Pretend you don't have anything.Find out what u want to do. Keeping your certificate aside, take out time to learn the ropes on any business you want to go into. When you are satisfied you have learnt enough, launch out with not more than 75% of your capital. It is easy to lose everything so be risk conscious.
If you are lucky to get paid employment you can make more savings to boost your capital.

BusinessRe: I Have N5.4m To Invest Any Bright Ideas: No Internet Biz Please by Excellent7(m): 11:58am On Nov 15, 2009
Please be careful. I agree with Walestar. Fix that money in a good bank and then think about what to invest it in. That way you can get at least 50K on it monthly or 600K per annum. In any investment you are making make sure you have the time to monitor your investment and dont be in a hurry.
BusinessRe: Intercontinental Bank Plc, This Is A Fraud by Excellent7(m): 11:49am On Nov 15, 2009
Nobody is flooding to defend anything anymore. The day has revealed most of the truth! I am waiting for more revelations when the EFCC legal suits commence full time, hoping that these Madof like guys get the type of long sentence Madoff got. It is so painfil how this lot fooled the entire banking and investing public with their 'Ponz'i public offers. Now we know most of it is big time hype! Their PR folks don tire now!
InvestmentRe: How Many % Does Bank Gives For Fixed Deposit by Excellent7(m): 11:39am On Nov 15, 2009
From my experience for six digit figures you can get rates from 10 to may be 14% depending on the bank and the tenor. On the second question, yes, you can leave instruction with your bank to drop your interest and refix your principal. If you can a 90 day tenor usually gives better returns than a 30day tenure.
If you are risk averse like I have become lately dont mind people telling you ventures to put your funds into for maximum returns except you have the time to monitor your investment full time.
